About Dr. Jacob Mortemore
Dr. Jacob Mortemore received his Bachelor of Science in General Biology from the University of Michigan before moving to Memphis, TN, to obtain his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry. He now lives in Hendersonville, TN, and has been providing primary eye care to patients in the Nashville area since 2016.
He chose to become an optometrist because it allows him to make a significant impact on patients’ lives by improving and preserving their vision. His favorite part of practicing optometry is seeing the immediate reactions from his patients when they receive their first pair of glasses or contacts.
In his free time, Dr. Mortemore enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Everyone in the office was GREAT except one lady. The first one to take me back to measure my eyes and stuff didn’t like that for some reason that day my anxiety was up and I couldn’t deal with having the machine come near my eyes. When we got to the exam room she told me I had to sign something on the iPad. Problem was she zoomed it in on where I was to sign without allowing me to read what I was signing. She had a big problem with me trying to zoom out so I could see what it was.
