James Gregoire, MD, MS grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts. After attending St. John’s Prep and Boston College, he obtained his Master’s degree in Medical Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine. He then spent eight years in New Orleans where he received his medical education and completed his Ophthalmology residency training at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Gregoire joins our team after finishing a Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive fellowship with us at Boston Vision and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In addition to refractive procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and implantable contact lenses (ICLs), he also specializes in corneal diseases such as keratoconus and corneal transplants, including ultra-thin tissue procedures. Dr. Gregoire routinely performs regular and complex cataract surgery, employing the latest technology such as femtosecond laser-assisted surgery and light-adjustable intraocular lenses to provide the most accurate surgical outcomes currently available. Dr. Gregoire also practices routine and comprehensive ophthalmology including dry eye, pterygium surgery, diabetes, glaucoma, and laser floater removal. Continuing his passion for residency education and teaching, Dr. Gregoire continues to give lectures in optics and refractive surgery to the Tulane residency program and has now been invited to lecture for the residency programs at Mass Eye, BU, Tufts, and UMass. Outside of Ophthalmology, he enjoys playing the piano, hiking with his Bernedoodle puppy, and debating which Mardi Gras parade is the best.
