Dr. Janet Tufaro is a seasoned family physician and she is excited to bring her knowledge to CareMed Primary and Urgent Care P.C. which has multiple locations in Long Island. Dr. Tufaro conducts her appointments with the personalized care and attention that she would expect for her own family. Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Tufaro received her medical degree from the Università degli Studi di Roma 'La Sapienza' Facoltà di Medicina e Psicologia. Furthermore, she completed dual residencies in family medicine, one at North Shore University Hospital and the other at Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute. She also holds an active membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Tufaro’s philosophy of patient care is based on compassion, efficacy, and teamwork. She focuses on giving patients the highest quality of care while guaranteeing their participation in managing their own medical condition. She enjoys sharing her love for a healthy living with her patients to inspire them to reach their health goals

I used to love Dr. Tufaro. The last appointment I had with her she was very upset I hadn’t lost more weight as I’m on a weight loss injection. I understand where she was coming from but she came off very disciplinary and frustrated. It could’ve been delivered in a different manner, especially since I hadn’t even been able to fill my prescription to loose weight do to supply chain issues.
She’s a good doctor overall but don’t go to her for GLP-1 medication management.
