About Dr. Jantz Chappel
Dr. Jantz Chappel OD was born and raised in Garden City, Kansas. He graduated with a Chemistry degree from Park University in Kansas City and graduated with Cumlaude. He is one of the few eye doctors in the Houston area that did not graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry but actually graduated from the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry.
Dr. Chappel did his externships at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, Wichita VA, and Aprima in Nashville. With a focus on ocular disease and fitting Specialty Contact lenses like Scleral Contact Lens on Keratoconus patients, and on healthy corneas. Now he values educating his patients and wants them to leave more informed about their eyes than when they came in.
Dr. Chappel was raised doing construction his whole life. Now he does carpentry on the side as a hobby. He actually built all the shelves for the eyewear at the office. He always has movie and tv recommendations. He moved down to Houston to get away from the bitter cold weather of Kansas and to be close to his sister who is also in Houston/Katy. If you have any recommendations for things to do in Houston/Katy he is all ears!

Dr. Chappel is super funny and nice! He also tries to make sure he answers any question you could possibly have for him. If you call the office, he's usually there to be able to ask questions as well and will call you back if he wasn't available. I love that he will see anyone of any age, you can take the whole family to get their exam. I definitely would recommend him to anyone looking for an optometrist!
