Dr. Chen received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in 2016, where he received recognition from the Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society and is also a Gold Key recipient. He completed his clinical training at the VA at The Villages (FL), VA at Lyons (NJ), Advanced Vision Center (IL), and LasikPlus (UT). Dr. Chen is nationally board certified, glaucoma certified, and is licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. He has extensive experience in comprehensive eye exams as well as the treatment and management of eye health conditions, which include: macular degeneration, dry eyes, cataracts, computer vision syndrome, blue light protection, pink eye, presbyopia, diabetic eye care, eye infections, corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis, and allergies (itchy eyes). Additionally, he is proficient in co-managing pre- and post-operative Lasik patients. He takes pride in providing excellent care for patients of all ages. Dr. Chen is passionate about community service- he has participated in local community vision screenings such as the Special Olympics, the Coachella vision clinic, and has traveled to Vietnam and Honduras to provide vision care. Some of his interests include fitness, hiking, college football (Go Irish!), international travel, food, and golfing.
