About Dr. Jeffrey Van Gelderen
A Monmouth County native, Jeffrey T. Van Gelderen, M.D., graduated from Holmdel High School and completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Van Gelderen received his medical degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Doctor of Medicine, at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at New York University, Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Van Gelderen is fellowship-trained in sports medicine from UCLA Medical Center, where he also participated in the care of Division I athletes. He received extensive training in advanced shoulder, hip, and knee arthroscopic procedures.

They are unfortunately very overbooked. Appointment was very rushed, so we did not have time to adequately discuss my situation. A lot of clinical terminology without any explanation of implications, prognosis, or treatment options and their pros and cons. Waiting for 30-40 minutes, seen for less than 10 to discuss two separate injuries and MRIs

He is really the best doctor. He is the first doctor out of maybe 4-5 that really recognized my knee issues and is working with me to really make the difference and manage my pain.

Excellent. The Doctor explained everything in a way that I was able to understand. He clearly explained all of my options, and that we were going to utilize the available options . After exhausting all of the options, and if the results were negative, then we would further discuss the next course we would take. Very friendly and relaxed demeanor, made me as a patient very comfortable. He is a credit to this practice.

Great doctor, great staff. The waiting was over 40 minutes, they need to learn to speed tings up. The elderly like to go there for social visits, the doctor's lend a sympathetic ear to the elderly patients. I think they should see older people toward the latter part of the day so people like me can get on with their day!

Dr van gelderen and everyone at the office is excellent and I highly recommend them.
However the appointments I made via zocdoc failed to make it to the systems at their office and despite the confirmations and reminders I received from zocdoc they had no record of my appointment. They still figured a way to fit me in and I appreciated that
