About Dr. Jennifer Melton

Jennifer Melton, MD, specializes in the treatment of corneal disease and performs advanced Corneal, Cataract, and Refractive surgery procedures, as well as Comprehensive Ophthalmology. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Born and raised in Louisiana, Dr. Melton earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She completed both her medical education and Internal Medicine Internship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After completing her residency in Ophthalmology, she moved to the west coast to pursue her interest in refractive surgery, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and anterior segment reconstruction. Dr. Melton completed her Cornea and Refractive Fellowship at the Shiley Eye Center at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Melton is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Texas Ophthalmology Society, and the American College of Physicians.

I was extremely nervous about my eye surgery and Dr. Melton immediately put me at ease as she and her surgical nurses sang to me the whole time during my surgery. Dr. Melton is not only a fantastically talented surgeon she is also gifted with a beautiful singing voice. I highly recommend Dr. Melton and her wonderful team of nurses and staff. Special shout out to Amy staff reception for your happy and hard working disposition.
