About Dr. Jessica Hines-Beard

Jessica Hines-Beard, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry with top honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Christian Brothers University in 2010 and completed a Master of Science in Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University in 2015. After graduating, Dr. Hines-Beard worked as a scientist researching potential treatments for inherited retinal diseases, eye trauma, and glaucoma. It was during this time she realized she could use her extensive knowledge of these diseases to better serve patients by becoming an optometrist. As an optometrist, she practices full-scope optometry, providing comprehensive care including glaucoma management, surgical co-management, specialty contact lenses, and long-term management of systemic ocular conditions such as dry eye and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Hines-Beard is ready to listen and meet your eye care needs. She loves collaborating with her patients so they can make the best decisions for their eye health and overall well-being. Her favorite part of being an optometrist is seeing the smile on a patient's face when they say, “This is the best that I've seen in years.” Outside of the office, Dr. Hines-Beard and her family are avid travelers. She enjoys good food, fancy coffee, and escaping to other worlds through reading.

The front office staff is very friendly! When I came to check in they welcomed me even though they were busy! Dr Jessica is very professional and friendly and answered all my questions, and I did not feel rushed at all! The gal who helped me pick out my glasses was VERY patient as I am HORIIBLE at making frame decisions and she was helpful and was professional and friendly when I picked my glasses up! I have recommended several people to this office!
This was my first visit since my wonderful eye doctor Vickie Young retired. My new eye doctor was very sweet and took her time with me. There was a young man their when I first got there that was very nice also. The guy who checked me out and the girls in the office were all very sweet too. They make going to the doctor seem warm and welcoming.
Each staff member listened to my concerns and took great care in making sure I was comfortable in my glasses and was able to see as I needed to.
I can't think of any thing you need to change! Staff is always friendly and take good care of my eyes, from exam to getting glasses!

I have been wearing glasses for years and have been to many eye doctors in different states and this was by far the best experience I have had. The Dr and staff all went above and beyond any experience I have had at an optometrist before. The time that Dr. Hines-Beard took with me to make sure my prescription was just right was much more detailed than in the past, which explained why my current glasses have been hurting my eyes since I got them just a year ago. Thanks so much to everyone at primary eyecare group for caring enough to be the best.
Everyone was so friendly and patient with us(My 7 yr old gets very nervous with any type of appointment!) No one rushed us or made us feel uncomfortable at any time! They were so sweet and explained everything they were going to do with my daughter so she wasn’t as nervous!
The staff was very pleasant and the doctor was very patient and polite. They thoroughly checked my eyes. Especially since I work with sand and glitter size metal. The wait time was very, very short. In and out in about 30 to 40 minutes.

Everyone from the moment we entered the door was warm and welcoming. Dr Hines-Beard is very competent and efficient. She explains things as she goes along in her examination. Michael was a huge help in selecting new eyeglassses. Offered suggestions and gave his opinion on styles to help narrow down choices.
Very professional, friendly and caring doctor and staff. Due to Dr Young's retirement, the office staff has made a few staff changes but everyone continues to have my eye health as a top priority. The new staff was friendly and knowledgeable and I know I will continue receiving the high level of care I have received from Primary Eye Care for the past 40 Plus years!
Arrived at 3:15, as requested. Filled out paperwork, some really dumb questions by the way, then waited. 3:45 I went back to an exam room and waited. If I have a 3:30 appointment it would be nice to be seen at 3:30.
I have been going here for well over 8 years and have never gotten the wonderful service and the supreme eyecare from any one else in my 57 years.
They were thorough, went over my medical records , and talked to me about my condition that could affect my vision. They took time with me which is always appreciated with a patient
I was supposed to get a $25 birthday coupon off my glasses and when I sent an email back asking if I that was reflected on my itemized bill (because I didn’t see), no one responded. I would just say get back to your patients.
