There’s a lot of moving around in this place to do the different tests and I dealt with two technicians and then the doctor. The doctor didn’t even perform my eye examination overall I got what I needed to done, but I can see how the experience could be a bit chaotic, especially for older people who aren’t as mobile.”

Jimmy Y. Hu, MD, Director of Refractive Surgery, is a cataract, corneal, and refractive (LASIK) surgeon. Dr. Hu earned his Doctor of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I will not be returning there. People were unfriendly and I got passed around from room to room like 4 times by different people. Once the doctor saw me he must have been in the room for less than two minutes. Wait time was awful and will definitely not be going back.

When booking the apoitment, I mentionned lens prescription renewal and it ends up that this doctor doesn't provide prescription

I had to do my check up but next time i.would like they prepare better the patients before to do any examination, I had my eye test and they put me some eye drops, I couldn't drive,and I couldn't see clearly, nobody told me is better if with take.some one w me to drive. At least avise patient to take precaution. I almost had an accident because I went by myself.

There is no parking lot designated for patients. I needed to wait 10-25 minutes between exams, each of which took 5-10 minutes. It took me one and a half hours to see the doctor with whom I had an appointment.

The wait was medium. The staff wasn’t rude but not particularly friendly. The doctor had no bedside manner. Very matter of fact. When the appointment was over, he just got on the computer. I didn’t know if it was over.

I arrived on time for my 12:30 appointment at Dr. Jimmy Hu’s office checked in, and waited—only to be told that Dr. Hu had no appointments available until 3:00 PM. When I explained that I had booked through Zocdoc and confirmed my appointment details, I was simply told to "come back later in the day"—as if that were a convenient option. Unfortunately, my PTO, gas, and parking costs say otherwise.

I recently visited Dr. Jimmy Hu for an eye exam, and overall, my experience was positive. The office was clean and modern, and I was seen quickly. The assistants were professional and polite, and Dr. Hu’s bedside manner was excellent. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions.
However, I had two issues. First, the forms I completed online before the appointment were not used, and I had to fill them out again in person, which was frustrating. It defeated the purpose of pre-registration.
Second, my prescription needed urgent pre-clearance from insurance, and when I called the office, the staff member I spoke to was dismissive and unhelpful. She provided no clear timeline and seemed indifferent to the urgency. This was disappointing and negatively impacted my experience.
Despite these issues, Dr. Hu was great, and I appreciate the care he provided. I hope this feedback helps improve the administrative side of the office.
