Jocelyn Pettitt, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2008 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Youngstown State University, with minors in Chemistry and Music. Dr. Pettitt completed her residency in ocular disease at the Louis Stokes VA Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. As part of her training, Dr. Pettitt also completed rotations in primary eyecare, ocular disease, low vision, contact lens fitting, and pediatrics. She enjoys practicing general optometry and considers low vision, ocular disease, and glaucoma treatment her fields of special interest. Dr. Pettitt began working for an optometrist when she was eighteen years old and continued that work experience through college. As a result, she was inspired to change her major to biology, which allowed her to pursue a career in optometry. The most rewarding part of Dr. Pettitt’s profession is being able to improve her patients’ everyday lives by helping to improve their vision and educating them about their eye health.
