“For a small extra fee, they took a picture of the inside of my eyes instead of dilating them. Not having to worry about the outside light being too bright was worth the extra cost. Also, they have a record of what the insides look like so the next time around they can compare.”

About Dr. Joel Riggs
Joel Riggs, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University, School of Optometry in 2003 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Dr. Riggs has always been fascinated by science. While in college, he met a group of classmates who were all aspiring medical, pharmacy, and optometry professionals during his Organic Chemistry class. He was inspired by their enthusiasm and commitment to pursue an optometry career. Today, Dr. Riggs is an accomplished optometrist with a deep-seated passion for addressing significant health issues.
In his free time, Dr. Riggs enjoys playing poker, watching sports, and traveling. He is an advocate for a healthy lifestyle and, as such, prioritizes daily workouts and a healthy diet.

This was my first time visiting this office and it was an amazing experience. The front counter was very thorough and transparent about everything. I was seen right away and everyone double checked my concerns. Doctor Riggs is very educated and friendly and was willing to listen to my concerns and recommended me options that would be beneficial, not ones that didn’t feel like just a prescription. ?

I made an appointment for a very concerning eye problem referred by an ER doctor. Dr Joel was very personable and very good at reassuring me that my eye problem was no problem at all, and my eyes are actually in pretty good shape. After this appointment I know now that seeing an eye doctor will be a few and far between matter for me, but when I go back I know I’m in good hands.
