“Dr John Nowell is a great doctor, and the office on Sand Lake Rd is a great place to schedule appointment with. Doctor had a great diagnostic approach, listens to the patient and gives recommendation in a manner which is easy to understand for the patient. We were out of state, on vacation, and had an urgent medical problem. We were able to schedule urgent appointment to be seen. As we didn't have a car being out of town, we were using Uber, came 45 minutes earlier, but the staff in the office made every effort for us to be seen sooner. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that we were able to get help when we needed. Thank you!”

About Dr. John Nowell

John Nowell, O.D., earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. He also holds a Bachelor's degree from Auburn University. Since 1991, Dr. Nowell has been practicing optometry in Southwest Orlando, dedicating himself to providing excellent eye care through continuous professional education and the integration of the latest technology in his practice. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association (AOA), Florida Optometric Association (FOA), Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians (CFSOP), and the Ocular Nutritional Society (ONS). Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Nowell is deeply involved in community service. He participates in civic groups such as the West Orlando Rotary Club and volunteers his vision care expertise to organizations like The Coalition for the Homeless, Jeppenson Foundation, Lions Club, and Vision USA. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Professor of Optometry at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry, Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Chicago College of Optometry, Kentucky College of Optometry, and Michigan College of Optometry. In his free time, Dr. Nowell enjoys outdoor activities, especially fishing, and is always eager to share a few "fish stories" with anyone willing to listen.
