“He did his job well. However, he came in about 30 minutes late for his appointment with me (I was the first one for the day). My appointment basically took 2 hours (I just came in for prescription glasses). That should have taken half the time, honestly. The reason is probably because I am a new patient and he wanted to really take his time with me and make a good impression. That may be appealing for most people, but for me,I rather have my time be used as efficiently as possible - so not necessarily rushed but I could have done without all the small talk and name-dropping. Either way, you can tell he knows what he is doing so I still recommend him. Just make sure you allot the time for your appointment.”

About Dr. Joseph Cavallo
Dr. Cavallo is a graduate of William Paterson University, where he received a B.S. in Biology. He then attended Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, earning a B.S. in Visual Science and his Doctor of Optometry degree.
Dr. Cavallo is a member of the American Optometric Association, the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, the Essex County Society of Optometric Physicians, and the Ocular Surface Disease Society.
He is very passionate about his work, spending many hours each month reading and studying science journals and traveling across the country to attend lectures to stay current with the latest advances and trends in eyecare. Dr. Cavallo has a particular interest in Dry Eye, Ocular Allergies, Glaucoma, and Uveitis.
Some of Dr. Cavallo's avocations include archaeology, particularly 18th dynasty Egyptology. He also enjoys reading and learning about England's Tudor era and the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. Recently, he has taken up reading about American history and art. His favorite artist is Vincent Van Gogh. One cannot forget his love of museums-his favorite is the Metropolitan Museum of Art (notably for its Egyptian wing and the Annenberg collection), followed by the Smithsonian museums in Washington, DC. He is also a big lover of Broadway and a daily listener of Sinatra. Additionally, he enjoys travel, boating, and exploring new places. His favorite hot spot is Disney-yes, Disney-because there is a kid in all of us. Dr. Cavallo is a lifelong resident of New Jersey and currently resides in Florham Park.

Got an appt. within 48 hrs. Staff verified all my ins. before arriving. doctor was very professional. Staff was helpful. Bought two pairs of glasses - great selection and great prices. Office was impeccable. I am taking my two children in next week.

Dr. Cavalo greeted me when I first came into the office . He was attentive and personable . I discribed my reason for the visit . The doctor examined me and made a definitive diagnosis on my condition. He made a phone call to a specialist after the exam and I was treated the same day . The next business day he called me to check on my condition. What a great experience !

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly employee. While waiting for the doctor, which took under 5 minutes, I began to look at their large assortment of glasses. The office was very presentable and clean. Dr. Cavallo was very friendly and made my experience enjoyable. The office was filled with new high tech equipment, which you don't see often. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cavallo's office to a friend or family member.
