About Dr. Joseph Muscente
Dr. Joseph Muscente is a graduate of the State University of New York College of Optometry, earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1994. After completing optometry school, Dr. Muscente completed a Residency in Ocular Disease at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Veterans Affairs Hospital in Montrose, NY.
Dr. Muscente then became a clinical instructor at the SUNY College of Optometry and a staff optometrist at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center and St. Albans VA.
He is now an attending doctor at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, Department of Ophthalmology. There, he works closely with ophthalmologists, residents, and students, providing comprehensive medical eyecare to all patients.

Dr. Muscente is an exceptional optometrist. He always takes me right away during my appointments and is always on time. He has a great sense of humour and is always spot on with diagnosis and treatment. Best doc in town. Wouldn’t go to anyone else.

I absolutely love Dr. Muscente and the entire Terri Optics team! They were fantastic with my daughter, who has significant eye issues in one eye. They not only gave her a great doctors appointment, but helped her select a beautiful set of glasses she could actually be excited about wearing to school. They have an above average selection of designer, and affordable frames for kids, and can special order many styles if you are looking for something different. Marianna was also extremely helpful and patient with us, allowing us time and guidance in selecting the best style. HIGHLY recommend!
