“It was a very nice clean and clear process. Knowledgeable, nice staff. Very responsive and kept asking if I had any questions or if I understood everything. Eye glass technician was also very knowledgeable about my insurance and my options to get the best bang for the buck. It's nice that there are some real doctors around that are not just completely run by corporations and operate like a processing line. Definitely recommend to anyone and those that hate the non-personability of Lenscrafters or other similar eye centers.”

About Dr. Joseph Niro

Joseph Niro, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Stonehill College in 1980. Dr. Niro specializes in primary eye care and contact lens application. When asked why he became an optometrist, he explained that as a science major with proficiency in the optics/optical section of physics, optometry provided a clear pathway for him. This choice was further shaped by his years working as an orderly in an emergency room at an urban hospital while in college. Serving as a de facto Emergency Medical Technician, Dr. Niro discovered where his strengths and interests fit within the healthcare delivery system. He feels it is a privilege and an honor to be in service to others. For Dr. Niro, primary eye care, under the auspices of optometry, far exceeds any other healthcare profession. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Niro enjoys gardening, classical music, golfing, hiking, and is also a former runner.

Was very pleased with attention provided before, during, and especially after the exam. Tech working the glasses/frames inspected my existing glasses and consulted with optometrist . They tweaked my script to account for difference. Wasn't planning to purchase glasses, but process was super easy with zero pressure. They worked deal using my insurance for first pair and second pair was very low out of pocket cost.
