About Dr. Joshua Kalish

Joshua A. Kalish, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon serving patients at our Gwinnett location. Specializing in cataract surgery, Dr. Kalish completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Kalish earned his doctorate of medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. Prior to this, he was an honor student at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry along with a master’s in cell and molecular biology. He is an active member of several organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and Phi Beta Kappa. As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Kalish understands how precious sight is to everyone’s life and feels honored to be able to earn his patients trust as their surgeon and eye care provider. He finds ophthalmology rewarding because of the ability to help people regain their independence through corrective lenses, cataract and refractive surgery, and numerous other procedures. Outside of work, Dr. Kalish loves spending time with his family. He met his beautiful wife in medical school, and they both decided to pursue ophthalmology independently. He is from Atlanta, and has always been a die-hard Atlanta sports fan. He grew up going to Braves, Hawks, Falcons, and even Thrashers games with his dad. He also loves to cook and host dinners, travel, hike, and play basketball.
