“Everything and everyone from the staff to the doctor were nothing but amazing! No wait time at all; walked in and signed two sheets and then I was taken right back. Each interaction with the staff here was wonderful; they were all soooo nice (seriously can’t stress that enough)! I have to shoutout the last employee I worked with who helped me get new sunglasses. She never pressed me to try and buy the most expensive; wrote out pricing on a few options for me; she even was straight up with me on how the lens colors turned out (some didn’t match exactly) and for that I appreciate her so much!”

About Dr. Julie McCutcheon
Dr. Julie McCutcheon was born and raised in Arizona and is proud to call it home. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Applied Biological Science at Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude, and received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Midwestern University's Arizona College of Optometry. After graduation, she completed a yearlong residency in primary eye care with the Indian Health Service in Tuba City, Arizona, serving the Navajo and Hopi populations. This training focused heavily on ocular disease management, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, dry eye, uveitis, and glaucoma. She performs comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens fittings for patients of all ages.
Outside of optometry, Dr. McCutcheon enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her husband and two dogs. Her favorite activities are hiking, fitness, and reading. She has visited seven National Parks in the last three years and cannot wait to see more.

Ever since, I looked forward to going to the optometrist yearly, picking up my new glasses, and finally seeing again. Optometry was always a dream profession of mine. It remained the perfect fit as time went on and I fell in love with science and medicine. What I most enjoy about optometry is that every exam is personal. I get to spend time getting to know my patients and their unique needs. I am passionate about providing high-quality eye care, producing accurate prescriptions, and staying up to date on the latest research.”

I really loved every part of the experience I had with Dr. McCutcheon and staff at Opticare Riviera Scottsdale. I was given options for my routine check up and the “extra cost” options were called out so there was always a choice and costs were transparent. They don’t test your eye pressure with the burst of air which was great!! Everyone was so nice, helpful and willing to explain every step of my appointment. Great experience overall!
