“Kara caught my glaucom early to enable her to stabilize my eye pressure. I like the staff but the prices for eyewearczre ridiculous unless you have incredible insurance.”

About Dr. Kara Laughlin

Kara Heine Laughlin, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry, with Honors, and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She studied Pre-Optometry at Vanderbilt University. Since starting in her field, Dr. Laughlin has become experienced in all areas of eye health care, including working in local Ft. Wayne practices with heavy contact lens and dye disease emphasis. She founded Grabill Eye Center in 2011 and enjoys caring for and talking with patients of all ages. She is licensed by the Indiana Optometry Board and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Since returning home, she has been involved in her community and has served past and presently with the following organizations: Cedar Creek Lions Club, Adams Township Advisory Board, Girls on the Run of Northeast Indiana, New Haven High School Alumni Association, and the Christian Community Health Care clinic. She and the practice are also members of the Grabill Chamber of Commerce where Dr. Laughlin previously served on the board of directors. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Laughlin enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children and going to the lake. She also enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports, cooking/baking, and photography.

We love everyone At Grabil Eye Center! Dr. Laughlin provides professional, caring and practical services. I always leave feeling cared for, understood and able to see better. The whole staff is terrific—efficient, friendly and kind. My kids are comfortable being cared for, which means the world to me. I cannot say enough about this outstanding practice!
The doctor took time to explain my eye issues in a way I could understand. The staff was very helpful assisting me with picking out a new pair of glasses and going over the options. The person assisting was new and she asked for assistance from an experienced person when she was not sure. That made me feel very good about the advice I was being given.

I've had several glitches in my appointments as far as scheduling - like I've had appointment cards with date & time, but no appointment on your schedule more than once. And I had a very long wait my last visit - I do understand that things happen, but I didn't feel this was handled well. And, on a positive note - the young lady who does the testing prior to Dr. Laughlin's exam is very efficient and caring (sorry I don't remember her name)
