About Dr. Karem Alvarez
Dr. Alvarez received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and went on to achieve her Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College, where she was a four-year National Medical Fellowship scholarship recipient. During her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando, she was selected to serve as chief resident.
Dr. Alvarez has special interests in minimally invasive gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, infertility and adolescent gynecologic care, and she’s certified to perform da Vinci robotic surgeries. Additionally, Dr. Alvarez was published in the International Journal of Adolescent Medicine and Health as a coauthor of research on barriers to adolescent contraception use and adherence. She also enjoys participating in international medical mission trips.
Dr. Alvarez is bilingual and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has a passion for traveling the world with her husband.

When I got there they told me my appointment was canceled and didn’t know why.. I asked if I could just talk to the doctor and said no… I’ve been heavily menstrual cycle all of sudden at 60.. They just said they could make me another appointment next week.. When I had already been waiting a couple of weeks for the one I went.. I just don’t understand how inconsiderate they were.. I am not young and with this I am very weak..

Since the first time i went in i was happy with the cleanest of the place and lovelly staff. They give you privacy and time to talk. No rush with the doctor. I recommend dr. Alvarez she is very attentive to every detail you wanna discuss. Im a PCOS patient and she really made me comfortable talking about different treatment to try to conceive a baby. This place they are very professional and is a happy place

I absolutely LOVE the Brandon office and the staff!! All the girls at the front desk and checkout, yall rock!! I will recommend this office to anyone I know looking. Dr Alvarez is absolutely hands down the BEST doctor there!! I love her so much, she made sure she spent the time to explain every detail to me and answered all my questions at every single appointment. She delivered my son as well. The day I was scheduled to give birth she was on call and made sure I was comfortable the whole time, she also made sure she was there and didnt leave until she delivered him!! She always goes above and beyond!!!! She is a true blessing to the practice!! She will now also be doing my tubal. She has been there from the start all the way to the end!!! She sincerely cares for her patients and she holds a special place in our family
