About Dr. Katelyn Ricker
Dr. Katelyn Ricker, Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist, grew up in McKinney, Texas. She attended The University of Arkansas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Ricker completed her clinical training at a pediatric private practice in Fort Smith, Arkansas as well as the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Through these experiences, she gained valuable training in pediatric care, myopia management, ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and primary care optometry.
Dr. Ricker believes that exceptional eye care goes beyond just prescribing glasses or contact lenses. She takes the time to thoroughly explain exam findings, answer any questions, and ensure each patient fully understands what’s happening with their ocular health and vision. She knows that no two patients are alike and that’s why her recommendations are tailored to fit each patient’s unique lifestyle, needs, and goals. Dr. Ricker is committed to making sure her patients feel informed, confident, and cared for every step of the way.
Dr. Ricker is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys baking sourdough bread, traveling to new countries, and spending time with her family. As a proud University of Arkansas alum, she’s a devoted Razorbacks fan – especially when basketball season rolls around!

Booked this appointment for the next day because I needed to see an eye doctor asap and this was the soonest appointment I could find with the best reviews. There was no wait time once I arrived for my appointment and all the staff was really friendly. Doctor was attentive and thorough with explaining what was going on with my eye. Would definitely recommend coming here! I will be back soon for my yearly eye exam

Dr. Ricker was very knowledgeable and kind. She remained calm and collected the whole time and made my visit feel really easy. You can tell she knows what she’s doing, and she explains things in a way that makes sense. Definitely recommend her if you need an eye doctor.
