About Dr. Katherine Yau
As the practice owner of New York Vision Associates, Dr. Katherine Yau is personally invested in every aspect of patient care, ensuring each person receives compassionate, individualized attention.
Dr. Yau received her undergraduate degree from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York, where she majored in Biology and minored in Asian and Asian American Studies. She was the recipient of the Mark S. Newman Scholarship, a full ride to Binghamton University. She earned her Doctorate from The SUNY College of Optometry in New York, where she had extensive training in the diagnosis and management of ocular pathology including glaucoma, cataracts, corneal and retinal disease, as well as the fitting of soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. Dr. Yau gained additional clinical expertise in ocular disease at Woodhull Medical Center and the East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center, both in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Yau is fluent in Mandarin and conversational in Spanish. She is dedicated to providing compassionate comprehensive care of patients' ocular and visual needs using state-of-the-art technology.

I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Yau. Unlike other types of doctor visits, this visit was painless, stress-free, efficient, and I was promptly seen. Dr. Yau examined my eyes thoroughly, including vision and eye health. She has a lot of modern technology and explained the test results to me. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed my eye exam! I was seen on time, actually a bit earlier than my appointment because I showed up early. Dr. Yau checked my vision and something that was bothering me with my eye. I got answers and a medication prescribed and was able to return to work quickly. Overall great experience!

I had a great experience with Dr. Katherine. She was very patient and took the time to answer all of my questions. My annual eye exam was quick and efficient, and she also gave me helpful suggestions on how to take better care of my eyes. The additional fee for the exam (on top of copay) was a bit unexpected, but overall, I had a very positive experience. Thank you!

Dr. Katherine Yau was incredible. For the past 10 years I have been struggling to find the right prescription. After a while the local Dr. I had been seeing started to feel like they stopped having the patience to deal with my changing eyesight. Dr. Yau listened, did not try to "sell" me on anything. In fact this team is very transparent with pricing and out of pocket costs. I will definitely be working with them again!
