About Dr. Kathy Chriqui
Dr. Kathy Chriqui earned her Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from Marshall B. Ketchum University. Prior to settling in the San Fernando Valley, she maintained a primary care practice in Beverly Hills for 10 years. Dr. Chriqui has served as a staff doctor at Marshall B. Ketchum University and has been on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for over 25 years.
She is affiliated with the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, the Los Angeles County Optometric Society, and the San Fernando Valley Optometric Society. Dr. Chriqui has co-managed LASIK procedures for 15 years, choosing to work exclusively with the most experienced surgeons who use state-of-the-art technology.
Since establishing her practice in the Chatsworth and Northridge area, she has built strong community ties, becoming involved with local Chambers of Commerce. She often gives back in unique ways, such as inviting her social media followers to nominate favorite teachers for a free pair of glasses or awarding scholarships to outstanding high school students.
When not working, Dr. Chriqui enjoys traveling, cooking, and dancing.
She holds certifications from the National Board of Examiners in Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents, Lacrimal Dilation and Irrigation, and Glaucoma.

I have been going to different optometrists more than a decade and this was by far the worst experience I've had. Doctor was very pushy and impatient. Staff was nice though. I decided to read some other reviews- some said they overheard her saying racist things, and now I'm wondering if I experienced some racism.

I had a fantastic experience at Optometrics. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional. The office was clean, well-organized, and had a comfortable atmosphere.
Dr. Chriqui was incredibly thorough during my eye exam, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all my questions. I never felt rushed, and I truly appreciated their attention to detail. The selection of frames was great, and the staff helped me find the perfect pair.
Overall, I highly recommend Optometrics for anyone looking for quality eye care. I’ll definitely be returning for my future exams!

Steer clear if you have morals.
I sat waiting in the exam room for a long time while I listened to customers and professionals in the next room say that they wanted to "keep out Asians and immigrants from Africa" and that trans people are "confused." Based on the rest of their (xenophobic and uniformed) opinions, it was clear that they were not joking or arguing. They were all in agreement about disliking Asians, Africans, and trans folks. Then the doctor walked in, realized I had been there the whole time, and told me she didn't know I was there.
At first, I was not sure if it was just customers saying those things. (I was shocked to hear such disturbing and un-American talk in public at all.) But it became clear from hearing their voices more, after meeting the doctor, that it was both staff AND customers saying those things.
I regret bringing my business there at all. I will not return, and I urge you to stay away.

Nice office, but it took 45 min to see the eye doctor. Had the usual exam once she came in then she sent me to the glasses area with someone else after putting in my trial contacts. When I said I didn’t want any of those frames, I had to wait another 10-15min to be seen because she started a new exam with someone else. I was there for an hour and a half. Other than that, the staff was nice, just the wait time was frustrating.

It was my first visit to this facility. Place was easy to find, ample parking, very clean. I was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist/tech (I regret that her name escapes me!). She completed various assessments explaining every step then led me to an exam room. I did not have to wait long at all. Dr. Chriqui introduced herself and put me at ease and clearly explained every step of my examination. She also explained my options and her rationale for her suggestions. She was very patient and answered all my questions. Her tech, Swiss was very helpful as well. She was quick to determine my taste and needs in frames and was able to bring me a great selection from their inventory. I was able to make a selection and she walked me through all my options with associated costs. I was happy with my purchase. Swiss completed my transaction and reassured me she would contact me when my glasses were ready in about 2-3 weeks. Looking forward to returning to this office! I highly recommend!

I was turned off by the eye doctor’s consistently patronizing manner of speaking. She spoke to me in a particular way because I was young and quiet, unnecessarily lecturing about when I should come in for an exam when there has been a global pandemic for the last two years…and would end her sentences addressing me as “young lady.” She should do her best to just treat all patients as patients, and paying customers…there’s a wide variety of places I could go to deal with a lot less prickliness.
I could put up with it on an annual basis if I didn’t witness just how terrible she is to her staff of young women as well, who are good at their jobs and were the better part of my visit. She gets impatient with them for not understanding her when I find her to be fairly unclear and short with them. I would recommend she treat them better.
Also she doesn’t show up to her appointments on time, even when I was the first appointment of the day. Just overall extremely unprofessional.

Dr. Chriqui is excellent and clear. I highly recommend.
The office does contact you before with a check-in, which in my case included to optional tests for an up-charge. I unselected both, though they were "recommended". I don't love that kind of system, but it was fine.

very sweet Doctor. Explained things very well. staff was nice. my only downside was all the waiting time. I was there for over an hour and a half and most of the waiting was when I was waiting for the doctor to come into the room. The first time I waited about 30-35 mins and the second time was shorter but still a bit of a wait and then I had to wait another 10 mins or so just to check out. I'll most likely see this doctor again, it's just very time consuming and frustrating to have to wait so long when there are no other patients in the office being seen or waiting.

The Dr. was very knowledgeable and took her time to explain any questions I had in-depth. However, in my experience, while she was thorough in her explanations, she came off a bit rigid, stern and cold. I went in wanting to hear about different options. She presented me with only one that was very expensive up front. The experience felt very transactional and unforgiving. Their receptionists/assistants were really nice, warm and helpful which helped to make up for it
