“I arrived about 15-20 minutes early for my appointment. The nurse took me back quickly and worked me up for my appointment. I waited at least 45 minutes for the doctor. I would have appreciated someone coming in to tell me that I wasn't forgotten about. Once he came in, he was very approachable and answered all my questions well. I really liked the doctor and would probably go back. I'm just glad that I only get exams once every 2-3 years. ”

About Dr. Kenneth Parker

Kenneth Parker, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2020. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida. He has special interests in ocular disease and binocular vision, having rotated through clinics that focused on ocular disease, traumatic brain injury, and vision therapy. Dr. Parker was inspired to become an optometrist partially because he found ocular disease interesting and partly because he had family members who, through fear of medical visits, did not seek care for macular degeneration and cataracts. As an optometrist, he knew he could help alleviate that fear for others. Dr. Parker says what he likes most about being an optometrist is educating patients on why their vision is the way it is and working with them to help improve their vision to be the best it can be. He also likes that optometry has a significant primary care focus and that retinal exams can help other medical specialists monitor a patient’s general health (e.g., diagnosing brain tumors, managing medications, and monitoring diabetes). When he is not treating patients, Dr. Parker spends his free time hiking and enjoys baking and watching movies.
