About Dr. Kerry Assil
Kerry K. Assil, MD is one of the world's foremost experts in eye surgery. Dr. Assil continues to make significant advances in his field with numerous inventions and introductions of state-of-the-art technology.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Diego, completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the same institution, and pursued a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Saint Louis University.
Dr. Assil has trained more than 14,000 physicians in refractive and cataract surgery, more than any other surgeon worldwide. During his more than twenty years in practice, he has authored over one hundred textbooks, textbook chapters, and articles on refractive and cataract surgery.
He has served as editor and reviewer of multiple scientific journals and is on the medical and scientific advisory boards of numerous eye surgical companies. Dr. Assil is also regularly called upon to appear on network news, health, and science programs as a pioneer in techniques in refractive, cataract, and vision-restoring surgery. He has served as the Distinguished Professor lecturer at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Baylor, Tokyo, UCLA, and many other leading universities.

Dr. Assil seems to be the ultimate professional and the office appears to be very patient friendly and professional. I was seen promptly by a technician who also manages the office.
The appointment got off to a bad start when parking was limited and I am not familiar with Santa Monica. I booked on ZocDoc and the receptionist had no record of me. Even so, they agreed to see me.
The entire staff was extremely courteous and I believe attentive and professional.
I was not expecting that the appointment would take over 2 hours but it did, I missed a physical therapy appointment in Westlake Village due to my late departure from this initial visit.
