About Dr. Lamees Alshawkani
Lamees Alshawkani is a licensed optometrist practicing full scope eye care at SEE Eyewear in Soho.
Dr. Alshawkani graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from George Mason University in 2009. She then went on to obtain her joint Doctorate of Optometry and Master of Science in Vision Science degrees from SUNY State College of Optometry, graduating in 2013 as a member of the International Optometric Honor Society. Her training included a rotation in primary eye care and ocular disease management at East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Brooklyn, NY. She also completed an externship providing a multitude of vision rehabilitative services at the University Eye Center in New York, NY.
At SEE Eyewear, Dr. Alshawkani provides comprehensive eye examinations, fits soft (spherical, toric, multifocal, and multifocal toric) contact lenses, manages a variety of ocular diseases, and provides referrals for further services when indicated. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. Furthermore, she participates in several volunteer activities in the community, with previous involvements including OneSight's Vision Van Clinic, MLB East Coast Pro Showcase, Special Olympics, and vision walks.
