She’s great!! Very professional and attentive. Been going to her for a couple of years now and I’m completely satisfied with her services.
This was my first time seeing Dr. Laurie Rice and it was a pretty routine physical. She seemed very nice and warm. The only drawback was the wait time. I got there at 2:15 for a 2:30p appointment and probably didn't see her until after 3:15p for less than 5 minutes.
Dr. Rice is very friendly and courteous. Though receptionists can be a little more friendly.
She didn't listen to me, she didn't care at all and just referred me to someone else, not answering my questions.
She is absolutely hands down one of the nicest doctors I’ve ever been to in my life. She made me feel at ease and that I would be taken care of. So grateful I found her.
I don't appreciate doctors that quickly dismiss every concern a patient has just because the patient looked young and healthy. Very unhelpful and dissatisfactory. The test results came through in less than one day, which was very fast.
She's great and very knowledgeable!
She was very kind and patient, we worked out a course of action for my problem very quickly and she helped answered questions I had about finding another specialist.
The wait time was absolutely ridiculous. I had an appointment and they were taking walk-ins back who had arrived after me before I was seen. I had to wait an hour and a half to be taken back into an exam room and then I waited almost another 30mins back there! The staff appeared to be exhausted and I felt like the millionth patient they had seen that day. The facilities themselves took me back to my days in the UK dealing with the NHS. They were dated and didn’t seem that clean. Dr. Rice herself apologized for the long wait. She was nice and thorough and gave me referrals to other specialists for what I needed. I just don’t know if it’s worth dealing with their office and wait time to see her.
Very transactional experience. Didn't spend a lot of time with Dr. Rice and the appointment felt a bit rushed and disorganized. Overall, a fine experience for a physical, but not the amount of time and care I was hoping to spend on a yearly check-up.
I felt everyone was very nice the staff and the doctor was really good. I had no problem with any one.
Dr. Rice did not help me at all. She simply handed me a business card and said see this doctor.
I switched from other doctors at this office to Rice. My first visit but so far, no issues!
While the doctor was pleasant, I waited 45 minutes to be seen. Then another 15 for a blood test. And was told to call the next day for the result, but the next day there was no one in who could give me the result.
My appointments here are always efficient but pleasant. Great primary care doctor.
She is both intelligent and compassionate. I value these traits in a healthcare provider. Dr. Rice also has a calming presence. If you need a primary care doc, make an appt with her and you won't be disappointed.
Dr. Rice has been my primary care physician for over 10 years and I respect and trust her.
Dr. Rice is amazing, was my first time seeing her and felt super comfortable talking with her about anything and everything from the moment I met her. Very smart and caring.
I had a 2pm appointment. I arrived at 1:50. At 2:45 I still had not been called despite having turned in the completed forms soon after arriving. After waiting almost an hour, I asked the receptionist, "How much longer," and she started to say, "Let me tell you how it works when you're a walk-in," at which point I cut her off and stated, "I HAD a 2:00 appointment," after which she seemed surprised, then said, "Okay, you're next." I was furious (though didn't show it) given how I rushed to get there EARLY to complete paperwork, plus I was in pain because I was there for a pre-surgical physical and my knee was killing me (the part that's due to have surgery).
Fast, efficient, professional. Abigail, my nurse, was funny and kind, and I feel like Dr. Rice was knowledgeable and reassuring. Will be visiting her again for annual physicals and medical questions in between!
Dr Rice is so kind and listens well and never makes you feel rushed.
Dr. Rice is great! Very patient and helpful. I will definitely be back. Office staff is great too.
Dr. Rice was very attentive and listened to all of my questions and concerns. I went in for a general consultation to talk through a few things, including vaccinations I needed for an international trip. She was knowledgeable and helpful. I did wait for close to an hour, but that appeared to be due to an issue between Zocdoc and the hospital's booking system (my appointment never appeared in its booking system). Even though my appointment didn't appear in the hospital's system, the team still honored it and placed me in front of the doctor as soon as they could.
Day in the eating room forever while there’s seriously contagious people all around me. My appointment was just for a prescription refill so it took all of 3 minutes once I actually saw the doctor.
Very easy to talk to
Dr. Rice spends time with her patients, is very kind and competent.
Dr. Rice is AMAZING!!!
She is the nicest doctor I have ever met! Her knowledge about medicine is inexhaustible. I highly recommend her!
I am currently looking for a new PCP since my insurance changed. Dr. Rice was very nice and professional, however, I give her 4 stars because I felt like as a young walk-in coming for an annual physical, I was somewhat dismissed as a healthy person. I felt like the general assessment was glossed over and lacking a bit, and when I brought up a basic concern to her, she simply referred me to a specialist instead of giving any advice for specific care. My sister-in-law is a nurse practitioner and had better tips for me, but I was expecting my PCP to provide this if not more information for me. I think I would see Dr. Rice again, depending on my insurance situation in a year. In the end, routine blood tests will provide an objective indication of my health - something that can't be provided by a visual examination. I can't speak to her care for more serious matters.
Excellent level of professionalism and expertise.
Dr. Rice is a fantastic physician. She is so knowledge and takes time to know her patients, which seems to be becoming more and more rare these days. I feel very lucky to be under her care, and have recommended her to family and friends.
Waited over an hour with an appointment. I used to see Dr. Rice but the last few visits she’s seemed super rushed and dismissive, spending no more than 5 minutes with me. Note that this is a clinic and you really don’t get the same level of attention and care.
best doctor ever
Very nice Dr. please to have chosen a good one!
Dr. Rice is always interested in my life and creates a personal relationship with her patients. She never makes me feel ridiculous for coming in the staff there, as well, are accommodating and helpful.
I love Dr. Rice
Dr. Rice is excellent. She is knowledgeable and she listens to your issues. Unfortunately, the front office is a total disaster. I really hope she gets out of there and finds some good help.
Extremely nice, friendly and understanding. She took the time and was exceptionally efficient with everything thing else. Staff is friendly and wonderful not much wait time.
Easy and quick - great care and advice.
She was very open to listen to my medical history. She is very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her!!
she was very calm, informative, and validating
Dr. Rice is amazing, engaging, and is so great and assisting her patients. I recommend her as a PCP to anyone in need.
Many thanks to Dr. Rice for her attention to detail, patience with my questions, and the clarity of her explanations. I'm very pleased to have found her.
I am definitely making her my PCP. The service was amazing and everyone was professional.
Super kind and attentive! It was my first appointment with them, and I was about 30 minutes late because of train delays- I called ahead to let them know, and they held my appointment (I’ve had many doctors cancel if not there within 15 minutes, so that was very nice). Dr. Rice was so nice and caring- made me feel immediately comfortable! Highly recommend!
Come early if you are a new patient to fill out forms. Staff was very pleasant and Dr. Rice has a good bedside manner.
This is to address my lack of test results. Dr. Rice is a fine doctor but when I went in for blood work to test for diabetes after a high glucose result the “system was down” and it has been almost a month and still nothing. I’m just waiting eagerly to see if my whole life is affected and some how the billing system is back up because I was mailed a bill but no results. Called the office and they were “out to lunch” so I could call back.horrible service and a horrible way to treat patients. Will not be returning and will be asking my insurance to defer payment for lab results never received.
Very comfortable! The staff are friendly, approachable, and professional.
It went well.
I love her she is the best doctor I have ever had. she is always on point.
Best doctors visit I’ve had in years
She is absolutely terrific. Smart. Attentive. Thorough.
My first visit was great! Dr Rice is very sweet and a great listener! I would highly recommend her from my first visit!
Dr. Rice is a wonderful doctor. She listens, is kind and is smart. She is respectful of differences of opinion. I trust her with my health, and the clinic had everything I needed on hand.
Dr. Rice was extremely kind and helpful. She was quick but addressed all of my concerns
She was friendly and attentive.
Seen Dr. Rice as my primary care for several years now and she is always friendly, takes time to talk to you and discuss any problems you have. This time it was an ear infection and she made me laugh that cheer me up a bit after a bad day
Physician was pleasant and practical. There was a long log time largely due to computer system issues for the practice.
Dr. Rice was very calm, patient and kind. I felt woozy after having blood drawn and she offered to get me water and encouraged me to rest as long as I needed. Recommend!
Professional, attentive and good overall bedside manner.
Great Dr, very nice and makes you feel comfortable, she is also very competent and knowledgeable Highly recommend.
Dr. Laurie Rice was very helpful to me. Answered all my questions and offered great advice. She listens to her patients and cares about results and follow-up.
I was not please with her as a physician, my first visit with her was good my second was horrible. i would not recommend her at all. she isnt concerned with patient care and she doesnt answer direct questions about your health, she would rather refer you to someone else just to get a return visit or to be done with you quickly
I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Rice. She is always professional & thorough, yet she is kind & compassionate.
Dr. Rice is fantastic. She's very thorough and understanding.
Everyone was so nice and helpful!
I presented Dr,Rice with a report from the medical department at work. Unfortunately, she did not do any follow up work to confirm the findings in the report. Secondly, the assistant who took me into her office, only did a blood pressure reading. He did not check my weight, height or do any of the normal procedures expected during a doctor's visit. The service was better when DOC was under Beth Israel
She was very nice, calmly mannered, asked me a lot of questions.
Dr. Rice and all of her colleagues are always super kind and efficient. <3
She’s the best! Seriously, she couldn’t be nicer and she’s incredibly knowledgeable.
Good visit, east experience
I’ve seen her twice and she’s been great both times.
Very professional and thorough.
Very professional and knowledgeable. Generally not a fan of doctors, but Dr. Rice and all the staff were very pleasant and put me at ease.
She is wonderful. Very knowledge and has an excellent bedside manner.
Amazing, kind, and efficient as always.
LOVE Dr. Rice, but I hate having to wait 45 minutes or more to see her for a 3-minute prescription refill consultation. The wait time is always very inconvenient.
Dr Rice is great. She listened to and came up with a plan.
Dr. Rice is a great Doctor !!
She seemed incredibly rushed and I actually felt like I was bothering her. I found this ironic after having waited patiently for nearly 45 minutes to see her on my hour lunch break. It concerned me that my blood work from a previous appointment hadn't been discussed with me and there were abnormalities. It was only brought up this visit, when I came in complaining about several ailments that coincided with the abnormal blood work for the previous appointment that took place several months ago. She seemed very on it the visit before this one, so perhaps, I'll give her another try. If there is a repeat, I'll be changing doctors.
She was absolutely wonderful but waiting 50 minutes to be seen was really inconvenient.
Dr. Laura Rice is the most wonderful of physicians. She has a marvelous bedside manner and listens to her patients as they describe their illness or condition. I've never experienced her rushing me, although I know her day is long and her patients are many. It's no wonder Dr. Rice is beloved by her patients. A grateful thumbs up!
The doctor was very nice and approachable. She asked relevant questions and listened attentively when I answered.
Dr. Rice and her entire staff were all so warm and welcoming. She took the time to explain simple procedures and answer my questions. The office is immaculate, current with technology and incredibly efficient. My 7 year search for a PCP has finally ended!
I waited one hour and 20 minutes totally unacceptable especially when you're not feeling good I'm not sure I would recommend
Dr.Rice is a knowledgeable caring doctor who listens carefully and refers you to other physicians if needed. She is very helpful.
Dr. Rice is OUTSTANDING and the only reason I come to that office! She is an amazing doctor and person.
Dr. Rice was quick and professional. Easiest physical I've had in years and I even got my blood drawn quickly, too. Only note is that the wait time was about 45 minutes, not including me getting there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. At that point, what's the use in making an appointment? I'm lucky it wasn't a mid-day appointment or I would've had to leave.
Dr. Laurie Rice and the staff at this practice were great! I'm switching over my primary care to here.
Dr Rice is the best. She listens to all of your concenrs and takes her time addressing.
She's really great and the staff at the office were friendly and helpful!
She's kind and knowledgeable.
Dr. Rice is a kind and thoughtful doctor. She is always caring and gets you where you need to be. Love going to her as I always know I'll get the best advice and be listened to.
best bedside manner. very patient
My search is over for a great GP. Very attentive and great bedside manner.
I went to Dr. Rice for a physical and I had a great first experience. She was really patient and listened to all of my concerns. And when I told her about my physical pain, she referred me to a specialist rather than just giving me meds (which is what my past doctor did). Secondly, I have to say that everyone at the front desk was super kind which was really pleasant. I feel like I've finally found a PCP I want to stick with!
As always, very pleasant.
Dr. Rice was great!
Came in for a prescription refill of a routine drug I've been taking for 10 years. I called the office three times trying to refill the prescription and received a different answer each time. On the final call, I asked for the doctor to call me back but never heard from her. Finally made an appointment because my prescription was running low and I had no other options. Waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and then continued to wait in the exam room. I'll be finding another doctor before this prescription runs out again.
Dr. Rice is such a sweet doctor with great bedside manner. She is quick and gets me in and out of my appointments without me feeling rushed or underobserved.
Dr. Rice was great! Very personable and seemed to genuinely care! Gave me a quick diagnosis. Front desk was great as well!
Dr. Laurie Rice is a jewel, a knowledgeable, hands-on, caring physician. She listens and gives each patient her best. Her voice is soothing, and she treats All with respect. If term, she receives incredible respect, in return.
Dr. Rice was friendly, engaging and professional. The staff were friendly as well!
Very caring and kind.
I have been going to Dr rice for years and absolutely recommend her!!!!! (-:
She was nice. I only spent about 10 minutes with the doctor even though I was there for 3 hours. Between being in the waiting room, waiting to see the doctor once I was brought into the room, getting blood taken, then waiting to be told I can leave; it came to 3 hours.
Dr Rice is fantastic. She is patient-oriented and patient of itself. She is the first doctor I see for any general ailment and then listen to what referral she may have for me.
Dr. Rice was very helpfull and understanding. She was a really kind hearted doctor who took strong interest on your well being.
I was very displeased with the reception and service up front. I waited almost 35 minutes before my "new patient" paperwork was entered into the system. When they called me up to officially check me in, the receptionist had said that I had no appointment booked. I told her I received both an email and text confirmation from ZocDoc and her response was "It must be for tomorrow then," even though the date was in fact correct. She told me she could add me as a walk in and I would be greeted shortly. I waited for another 30 minutes and finally had to speak with a different woman at the front counter just to get my appointment finalized. In the end, I waited for almost 1.5 hours in the waiting room. I finally got into my patient room and was greeted by Dr. Rice, who was extremely apologetic and gracious. She listened to all of my concerns and ended up doing a full work up! Although, I was displeased with the overall service, I would definitely recommend Dr. Rice.
Mount Sinai never disappoints. I was so nervous I was just going to get a prescription pushed at me but Dr. Rice listened to my concerns and scheduled me for further tests that day. She also recommended me to a follow up doctor and promised she would find the problem. The radiology tech was so nice and really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable.
Dr. Rice was nice and took the time to answer all my questions. Didn't not feel rushed or like she was too busy for me. The staff at the counter are also very friendly.
Good staff, friendly office. Dr. Rice is friendly And efficient, would recommend to a friend.
This is my second year seeing Dr. Rice for an annual physical and I highly recommend her and her nursing staff! They are kind and professional and so was the staff at the front desk. As pleasant an experience as going to the doctor can be.
The staff were incredible, especially Dr. Rice, the medical assistant and receptionist!
Dr. Rice was awesome and very kind. I would recommend to family and friends.
Even though it was people ahead of me I still got seen in a timely manner. She is very nice and attentive.
She was wonderful and her assistant was very friendly. However I had a 9:30am appointment and wasn't seen until 10:40am which was frustrating. She did apologize for the wait.
Dr. Rice is so kind. She is the best!
THE VISIT SHOULD Have ONLY LASTED LESS THEN 10 MIN BUT I WAS MADE TO WAIT ANOTHER 20 MIN IN THE PATIENT ROOM. WAS REALLY IN ALOT OF ANNOYING PAIN FROM A RASH, JUST NEEDED A QUICK prescription TO THE PHARMACY TO GET THE RELIEF I NEED.
I came into my annual physical with a fever and aches. Ended up having to come back the next day to get a prescriptions for Strep and a uti. I don't understand how a doctor who is examining you can let you walk out of her office with out bothering to take your temperature when you feel warm or question large lymph-nodes or aches. but then again, she was in and out of there so quickly it would make your head spin. In general, she questions everything thing i say as if I and other doctors are completely wrong (other doctors that she sends me to by the way because she doesn't like to try and do anything herself) and i am making stuff up. She even questioned the blood disorder I was diagnosed with and tested by a professional, as if that couldn't be true cause its rare and i must be mistaken.
I went for a routine prescription that I have always received in the length of 1 year. She required me to come into the office every 5 months. To get this information I had to call twice, be on hold for 45 minutes, call again, and then finally call a fourth time.
Dr Rice is a caring and responsive physician. I'd recommend her highly. I've been seeing her for over 10 years and she is very warm.
So good she became my PCP! Great doctor!
She was very kind and knowledgeable. I'm definitely taking her on as my primary physician.
Dr. Rice is very attentive and has a great bedside manner. She answered all my questions and I felt very informed on treatment. I would definitely see her again. Thanks, Dr. Rice!
Laurie Rice is a fantastic doctor who i have seen for years now and definitely trust!
Very smooth , didn't take too long, all bases covered.
Dr. Rice is fantastic! The rest of the staff in the office is somewhat hit and miss depending on the day but today, all went smoothly.
Dr. Rice was very helpful in treating my chest cold. She was very relatable and kind. Thanks Dr. Rice!
Always, great visit, very helpful.
The best doctor in NYC!
Dr. Rice was wonderful! She was kind, non-judgmental, and super helpful. I would highly recommend her, her staff, and her office.
Doctor Rice was absolutely amazing. I've been seeking a new PCP for a few years, and I think I found one! She has great bad side manner, and so calm, cool, and understanding. She made me feel as if she had been my doctor for years. I cannot wait to see her again. The wait time took about 30 minutes, but I was a new patient at the end of the the business day. It was to be expected, but the Alfonso and the front desk team are phenomenal.
Dr. Rice was friendly, efficient, and sympathetic.
Dr. Rice has been my Doctor for many years and I have always found her to be a very good Doctor. She is very knowledgeable and always answers my questions and concerns. I will not change Doctors and would encourage anyone who is looking for a primary care Dr. to visit her.
Dr Rice was very nice and she genuinely seemed to care about my well being. Her office was absolutely disorganized and I waited for over an hour to see Dr. Rice.
Dr Rice is one of the worst doctors I've ever seen. I went in for a Physial that only consisted of her listening to my heart and lungs ( nothing else) . She asked me barely any questions and I could tell she didn't look at my chart at all. When I brought up an issue I was having to her almost seemed like I was bothering her by asking a question and basically said she didn't know what it was and that I needed to see another doctor. She gave me a blood test and said I would get the result later that day, I had to call the office 3 times to get them. I felt like I was rushed out of the office. I would never recommend anyone to see her.
Both Dr Laurie Rice and her assistant were fantastic - her assistant can take blood without you even feeling a scratch and I have quite deep veins so this was really impressive! Front desk staff were a little brisk so I was pleasantly surprised when I got to see the doctor at how nice she was. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Rice was extremely nice and professional.
Dr. Rice is really great. I honestly feel that she cares about not just my heath but me as a person as well. I would highly reccomend her. SHE IS THE BEST!!
professional, concerned, thorough
Dr. Rice is amazing, warm, comforting, and I look forward to having her as my GP. The office staff, however, were less than professional - one woman complained to me that she hadn't eaten all day when I was giving her my paperwork. She also complained about her coworker, who was on the phone, to another coworker in front of me. It was odd. But Dr. Rice was just amazing, it made the hour's wait worth it.
Dr. Riiz is awesome doctor, but I'm thinking about changing my doctor due to the front desk at the clinic the gentleman in the front is very nasty and unprofessional. Had me waiting for over 45 minutes and when I asked about one of the dock to see me he had a very nasty attitude young lady stepped in and helped me and I was seen with in the next five minutes no he told me was gonna be a long wait and brushed me off after waiting 45 minutes the clinic is really a good clinic but you really have to do something with The front desk
Great manner, kind, warm, spends time.
Dr. Rice was very good. She was thorough and explained everything to me. She listened to me and answered my questions. The office was clean and I didnt have to wait very long.
Always a pleasure!
Dr. Rice is very friendly and personable, as were the nurses and office staff.
Excellent Physician, highly recommend
Very polite staff and Dr Rice is always very calm & listens to all details.
The interaction with dr rice was wonderful she was extremely helpful------------- however the front staff reception was totally substandard ---- bad attitude and not helpful ----- i will come back for the doctors as i have seen all of them at one time or another for the past 10 years ---- however the front office needs some manners
Dr. Rice was patient and a good listener. During this initial physical, she provided a number of tests, which were done promptly by several friendly technicians. I would recommend this doctor, office and staff.
Waited an hour to be put in a room, then another 20 min til the doctor came to see me. Only to take 2 minutes for a diagnosis. Poor experience here.
Dr. Rice is so nice, and very thorough. I have seen her several times and always had a good experience. The office is clean, and I was seen on time for my appointment.
Laurie is super friendly and engaging. She really listens. She seems rather busy so wait time can be more than expected even with an appointment.
She is very kind and compassionate but is also firm and can talk me off the ledge as I tend to be overly anxious about my health. Wait time can be a problem. For my first visit, the overall process took about an hour, which was fine as I had to do blood work and get her caught up on my medical history, but the second visit took 1.5 hours (and it was just a follow up). I spent most of my time waiting to be seen during that second visit - which was extremely annoying bc I was on my lunch break. Third visit was a breeze. Overall time was 30 mins. Great doctor but the institution is large, so you may be in and out, or it may take a while.
I had a 12:30 appointment to see Dr.Rice but didn't end up being seen until about 1:30 or so. She wasn't particularly warm and I felt she didn't take me seriously.
Even though there were only 2 Drs on duty today, I was seen in less than 30 minutes, most likely because I had scheduled my appointment on ZocDoc days ago! Dr. Rice is always great! Even though she was 1 of only 2 Drs on duty today, she takes her time & asks you questions & listens to your concerns. In fact, she was the one who suggested I get a flu shot while I was there! I have been going to this practice for over 20 years & all of the Drs there have always taken good care of me.
Was very nice and professional.
Wait time was a little longer than normal because there were only three doctors at this practice due to holiday seasons. But everything went really smooth. She sent my prescription within 10 mins. So I was able to pick up very needed medication right away.
It was my first appointment with Dr. Rice as I wanted to establish new doctors in the city since I just moved here. I had several problems I wanted to discuss and get advice on, but I felt she was rushing me out so she could see the next patient. She's very polite and pleasant, but I didn't get the impression that she cares very much.
Dr Rice was great. Personable, listened and explained her thoughts well. Would recommend her. Just realize she's in a group of doctors for mt sinai, so there will definitely be a wait (as its set up like an emergency waiting room)
Dr. Rice is incredible. After only one visit, I'm already so glad I found her! She really listens and cares about patients. I highly recommend!
Dr. Rice was incredible and so friendly. She made me feel so comfortable. I've lived in NYC for 10 years and Dr. Rice is the first GP I've liked and will return to. Finally!
The two receptionist at the front desk were very unprofessional. They were both very rude.
Dr. Rice was knowledgeable, considerate and patient. She, as well as the staff, were all super sweet and made me feel comfortable which is very rare to find.
Dr. Rice is very knowledgeable and kind....excellent doctor.
Thorough, professional patient and efficient!
Dr. Rice was fantastic - she was personable, and I felt very comfortable with her. I'm so happy to have found her, as I needed a new primary care physician.
Dr. Rice was friendly, professional, and efficient. The office staff was also really caring and put the needs of the patient first. Definitely recommend.
Laurie was fantastic, very thorough and caring, excellent bedside manner and listened thoughtfully to my concerns. Her office staff were very nice people but the computer system did seem to be "causing problems" so the record keeping and prescription writing side of things did seem a bit chaotic. This could be a one-off day, not sure yet. Again, Laurie is great!
Doctor and employees were very nice. Dr was kind and concerned. Wait time for first visit was very long about 1.5 hrs. Overall good experience.
Dr. Rice is wonderful! The nurses are also fantastic! I just wish the office was better managed and the folks at the front desk were more personable.
Seemed like a good doctor at my first appointment, but was clearly rushed. Was dismissive at my second appointment, and did not return phone calls. The office is clearly disorganized, as I received two separate phone calls about blood test results that I had already picked up after waiting 9 days to get them. When I had a second blood test, I had to really push to get the specific tests I suspected would be helpful, and even with that not all of those tests were done. I have since been diagnosed and treated by a different doctor for exactly what I thought I had-- I only wish I hadn't wasted weeks trying to get through to this doctor.
She's very nice and helpful. The appointment never feels rushed, which is rare for NYC!
Love Dr. Rice... Hate the front office staff. They are administratively challenged and can't find records - telling you they have no record of you being there... even though you've seen 3 different specialists the last 3 years at their site.
Time with Dr. Rice itself was great - however, the time spent in the waiting room was not pleasant, and the wait time was long to get seen and then to get blood taken (the doctor even said herself that the nurse staff seem short-staffed.) Nurses were friendly and helpful.
Terrific doctor who took her time.
Very nice demeanor and she did not rush the appointment at all. Easy to talk to and approachable. Absolutely lovely nurses and medical assistants too. The entire process of getting an annual took about 1.5 hours which isn't all that bad.
Dr. Rice's professional manner is great. She shows concern when there is need and she puts you at ease when you tend to be too worried over nothing that needs to be worried about but she never down plays your concerns and is willing to listen and if needed run tests to to put you at ease. She is really great and she is the only Doctor I visit.
Dr. Rice was very helpful.
She is my primary care doctor for a good reason. Trust.
The office staff is disorganized. It is hard to get them to return calls or send faxes. For that reason, I won't be returning.
Laurie was fantastic - highly recommend - but it took forever for me to be seen.
I would highly recommend Dr. Laurie Rice. Not only does she have a great personality but also has an incredible knowledge in the medical field. When it comes to Laurie, I never feel uncomfortable to ask any questions and she always provides me with her most honest opinion.
Doctor was great but the office was a little slow. I was 30 minutes past my appointment, got up and asked reception what was going on, and suddenly the doctor appeared. No one had even told her I was there Dr. Rice is really straightforward and clear. I liked her a lot. Unfortunately, I won't be going back unless i have several hours to spare in a waiting room.
The front desk check in process was TERRIBLE. I know they are doing some work n the main floor, but the front desk staff is unresponsive, and it was only when the Manager stepped in did things get done. There were people waiting over an hour to see the doctor. It's not a nice thing to walk into a doctors office and the front desk ignores you.
Dr. Rice had a lovely bedside manner, was thorough and thoughtful in answering my questions and concerns. I did have to wait quite a long time to be seen but I don't think that is her fault specifically.
I presented to Dr. Rice for an annual physical. She has amazing bedside manner and is genuinely interested in her patients. Her exam was quick and thorough. Her hours are flexible and include hours after 5pm on a couple of days weekly, as well as occasional weekend hours. I walked out of my physical and immediately started to refer my friends to her.
As always Dr. Rice is awesome !
Excellent care,,friendly, respectful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend
Never before have a seen a doctor and had to ask the nurse to weigh and measure me. While the doctor is merely ok, the support staff is awful! My mail in pharmacy notified before the office did that my rx would not be refilled without an office visit, and then it took them days to send it in. Correspondence sent via their website went unanswered until I include the words unprofessional and bordering on medical negligence in an email.
Laurie and the other Doctor / nurse were very nice / helpful
I love Dr. Rice she is very professional and listen to concerns and makes suggestions and explains things clearly.
Dr. Rice was amazing! She was so nice, incredibly patient, and genuinely interested in my responses. A rare find in New York!
Great doctor -- very nice, efficient and clear. Her team is also great; I hate having blood drawn and they put me at ease.
Dr. Rice was very personable and I felt very comfortable with her. The facility was a little bit dirty but the staff were all excellent. I would recommend this office.
Dr Rice is fantastic, however the office staff should be reevaluated. Two of the staff proceeded to talk about a third staff member that was too busy gabbing w other coworkers while I was there. Something patients do not need to see or hear when we are looking to see a doctor. Other than Dr Rice and the rest of the medical staff were a gem, really great bedside manner and very great care providers.
Ok my first review wasn't that good. However second time around I want to make Dr.Ruce my primary. I waited less than 15 minutes and she is a very caring lady.
Dr. Rice is knowledgeable accurate and thorough. She also takes the time to listen the patient.
Dr. Rice is great...the experience in the waiting room/front desk area is not the best, but once you get to see her it's worth it.
Geat visit. Very pleased.
Loved having my check up with her. Such a wonderful person. Will go see her again for sure.
I went for my annual physical, and I did not feel she was very thorough. She asked me some questions, listened to my breathing and then had blood drawn.
It took way too long for me to wait in the waiting room filling out paperwork but then again I was a new patient.
While the office staff wasn't great, Dr. Rice was so great! She is sweet. She was kind, understanding and accurate! I will go back to her!
My time with Dr. Laurie was rushed. I know this is NY, but it would've been nice to pretend to have concern for the health issues I wanted to discuss.
Recently caught bronchitis and needed a doctor who was available right away. Dr. Rice was the only doctor by my apartment who had an available slot. Made an appointment at 3:30 and got in at 3, but didn't get to see the doctor till close to 4. I told her what I might have and she confirmed it after checking my breathing. She told me to come in for a physical. I was in and out after 10 mins...
Dr. Rice was great but the receptionists took forever to deal with my new patient paperwork and I had to wait almost an hour to get into the office.
Everything was great with Dr. Rice! She has great bedside manner and makes you feel in good hands. Aside from her, and I emphasize that this is no reflection on her - the wait times were absurd! I had a scheduled appt for 12:45pm. I waited well over an hour for the two stage process of my paperwork despite even already have been there and they had all my information! I then had to wait somewhere between 30-45 minutes in the patient room during my actual appointment for other nurses to help Dr. Rice. Finally, the front desk people are always very cold and impatient every time I've been and yet you still end up waiting forever. My experience with Dr. Rice is again, a whole different story which is very professional and enjoyable.
A bit of a wait, but it took me some time to get accurate information from my insurance provider.
I really liked her. She was so nice and honest and when I told her how was feeling about my anxiety she took it really serious and didn't judge me at all. I appreciated that. The wait time was a bit long but the staff was ok.
Very professional, with kind bedside manner. Really happy to have found her, and that she's so close to my office!
Dr. Rice is the best primary care doctor I have ever had. She is caring, responsive, and knows her stuff!
I like my doctor. The care is professional and precise.
So inconsiderate and unprofessional! Not seeing Dr. Rice again. FYI: Patients are human beings NOT clients!!! Doctors should give priority & enough time to their patients, taking into account the professional conscience and patients basic rights to life!
Front desk is super slow. I am a new patient and went on my lunch break. I saw other patients who came in after me getting called in. I checked up and found that the gentleman was too busy on he phone to enter my data in the computer. Would be great if the facility allows a patient to fill out online prior. Perhaps they have but booking the appt via doc doc on my phone only were able to access pdf docs. I liked Dr. Rice and also the nurse. I will go back. Believe now that I'm a registered patient, I won't have this problem again oh one thing I was displeased about was when I complained about the wait the staff announced my problem over the mike for all to hear of my problem. I'm pretty private so was a bit embarrassed. Luckily it was chest pain not a vagaga problem or something more personal.
I've been seeing Dr. Rice for many years. She has a very calm approach and listens.
Dr. Rice was extremely professional, nice, and approachable. However - the front desk staff member was rude, condescending, unwelcoming, and acted like I was a huge inconvenience to her. Clearly I'm not the only one to have had this problem here, and I've dealt with other clinics who have had very pleasant front desk staff who are probably just as busy and occupied as these were.
Great visit, Dr. Rice was very helpful. Staff were tremendous.
Dr. Rice was kind, attentive and professional. She didn't make me feel rushed during my annual exam and I felt like I could ask her questions. Her nurse was also very kind and got me through bloodwork (which makes me faint sometimes) easily and with the least amount of discomfort.
It was about a 30 min. wait until I was able to see Dr. Rice. The front desk is one of the worst I have seen in my life, extremely rude! They need to hire people who really enjoy working in customer service. Dr. Rice was good but the experience before seeing her was far from pleasant.
Wait time was a bit annoying but besides that the appointment went well and I would go back!
Very patient and friendly
Dr. Rice was very kind and I did not feel rushed at all. The woman at the front desk was also very courteous.
It was my first visit with the doctor and I had a great impression. Dr. Rice was very polite, attentive, and thorough. The front desk staff were not super friendly but helpful.
Front desk staff not polite and needs some training in customer service! !
Always a pleasure to work with Dr. Rice. She is very sweet, knowledgeable and and caring. She will answer all the questions you have and will make you feel comfortable. This is definitely my to go to.
Laurie Rice is very thorough, kind and professional.
Dr. Rice was great! The office facilities themselves were quite disappointing and out-dated. I waited a very long time between the waiting room, for the doctor, and then for a nurse. What could have taken 20 minutes took over an hour. I would recommend Dr. Rice as a primary care physician.
Dr. Laurie Rice is the best. She is so patient, kind, compassionate, etc.
Loved Dr. Rice. Really welcoming, understanding. I felt she spent adaquate time with me. The office staff however was HORRIBLE. All of my information is entered by hand, and they do not notify the doctor you are here until they are finished entering your information. The ofice staff is rude, they mumble, they cannot appropriately answer questions.
Dr. Rice was very nice and has a calm presence. Getting my exam was easy. The medical office got extremely busy when I was there and I ended up waiting more than an hour past my appointment time.
Dr. Rice is an excellent doctor with a wonderful bedside manner. She takes the time to listen to a patients concerns and explain the details and options.
I really like Dr. Rice, but each and every visit - their front-office staff leaves a LOT to be desire. They're rude, treat you like you're a hassle, etc. Also, you have to fill out all the same standard questionnaire each and every time you visit (even when you already have a file going there).
She was pleasant and eager to engage you about your well being. If she does keep you waiting she does check in with you to let you know how soon she will return.
Dr. Rice is an incredibly caring and kind doctor. I would recommend her to anyone.
Even though I got there early I couldn't complain because she saw me 15 minutes before my time. All my questions were answered.
Dr Rice was very professional but also warm and made me feel comfortable and answered my questions. And I didn't feel rushed, even though it seemed to be a busy day for the office.
Dr. Rice was very kind and professional, no complaints at all. However I would say the true hero of my visit was the nurse who took my blood for a blood test. I usually feel so sick when I get blood drawn and I told the nurse this, who got me a cup of water and told me a hilarious story to distract me. I didn't even notice until it was over! It was so nice of her and unfortunately I don't remember her name but it made me feel particularly cared for.
Dr Rice is a good, empathetic doctor.
I thought Dr. Rice was terrific: very professional and kind. I felt comfortable with her right away.
I hadn't had a physical in a a few years so I went to Dr. Rice. She rushed through my entire appointment and I had to stop her from leaving the room so I could talk about some of the issues I was having. She did not provide any practical advice or thoughts on anything I asked her about and just suggested I see other doctors (which I knew might be the answer but she made me feel as if I was wasting her time by asking about it). She did not ask me any personal details that I would expect at a physical so that the doctor could assess both my physical, mental, emotional, sexual, nutritional (etc.) health. I tried to go in to see her a few months later for a prescription that was late in the mail. I just wanted to stop in to ask if she even could write the prescription. She and her staff were so rude to me about the entire situation. Dr. Rice specifically made an insensitive comment about the prescription. I have stopped going there and will never go back. Dr. Rice does not care about patient care. She is just rushing through appointments.
This has been my third visit with Dr. Rice, and she's has continuously been one of the best doctors I have ever seen. It's beyond evident that she deeply cares about each one of her patients.
Dr. Rice is great. Her office never has a wait time and she has great bedside manner!
She listened to all I had to say before she made her recommendations and was very thorough in getting all my blood work done to make sure I was healthy!
Great Doctor !!!
staff wasn't accommodating to my needs. Refused to tell me my blood work results until they had mailed them to me (it took 2 weeks to get!)
Dr. Rice is friendly and knowledgeable. I have been her patient for three years and I plan to continue seeing her when I need to.
Dr. Rice was not warm at all she was very hard to open up and talk to I decided to get another Doctor. The nurse who triaged me was very nice but after my visit with Dr. Rice I had to have my blood drawn. Working in the Health care field I can't imagine how someone else would have felt, seeing the phlebotomist come in a very large man who was dressed like the janitor with his pants sagging thought he was going to draw my blood. When he walked in with the needle gauze, ect. I politely said sorry you will need to get the nurse who triaged me thank you. That was scary! The only good part of the visit was it allowed me to find a great doctor with another practice. I saw her last year but I will never forget that visit. Professionalism is the Key to success.
Front desk staff is definitely subpar. Waited 20 minutes for them to check me in. The doctor came out twice to the desk to check if there were any patients waiting for her, but since the paperwork wasn't processed, had to go back in. Meanwhile I was sitting in the waiting room. Many similar types of issues before.
Smart, professional, concerned
No waiting time, and everyone on the staff was helpful and cordial.
My visit with Laurie was excellent, she was quick and had an excellent bedside manner. My only complaint is the long wait time to be seen, which was not the fault of the doctor.
highly recommended; professional and straightforward
She was a very nice person. But as a doctor, she didn't discuss much with me. She mostly just stared when I was discussing what I was experiencing and it made me feel uncomfortable. Then when she asked questions, it was questions that made me know that she had not looked at my chart. It wasn't my first time at that office. I had seen several doctors at that facility. They had tons of medical information on me. It wasn't a good experience so I began seeing another doctor in the group.
A longer wait time, but well worth it. Ms. Rice was supportive, easy to work with and exceptionally helpful.
Overall, I value and enjoy Dr. Rice as my primary physician. That said, I generally only see her for prescription refills, so my overall experience with her is relatively limited (e.g., haven't yet experienced her expertise dealing with an illness, etc.). Separately, the office's front-office staff leaves something to be desired. They are often gruff (borderline rude), and treat you like you're a child or a nuisance to be delt with. They come across as very jaded ER nurses in an overworked, rough part of town.
I really liked Dr. Rice. I am disappointed that she no longer is in network for my insurance and I have to find a new PCP.
I had another good appointment with Dr. Laurie Rice. She has been my primary care physician for over four years. I chose her because of her clarity and directness of communication, her expertise, her sensitivity, and her professionalism. I have consistently been very pleased with her care. I have rarely had to wait, but she never rushes an appointment. She examines me thoroughly and is also attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns I might have. On a related note, I have found the front office staff to be efficient, courteous, and quick in moving patients along (which was not the case in the last office I visited.) Because of that, and, especially, because of the extraordinary level of care I get from Dr. Rice, I now look forward to my doctor's appointments with pleasure. That's no small compliment when I'm usually there because I am ill in some way...
Very calm & knowledgeable . No issues except I waited a long time, both before exam & during, while waiting for blood to be taken.
Dr. Rice seems wonderful and I appreciated her bedside manner. My only complaint about the visit was the wait time (over 2 hours), which was the result of some kind of mix up when I was placed in an exam room. Staff and Dr. Rice were very apologetic for the wait.
Dr. Rice is great. She is very helpful and positive.
Dr Rice is perfect for me.
Love the doctor she is wonder and easy to talk to
She is very kind and caring.
Doctor Rice was fantastic but the staff in the front were nothing short of a nightmare with the exception of one lady wearing scrubs. I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment with all documents already printed and filled out. They confirmed everything was correct and asked me to take a seat. An hour later when I realized that everyone who came in after me were already gone and indeed leaving the building AFTER their appointments, I went to the front desk and asked if everything was ok. Again, they reassured me that it was. 30 minutes later which is an hour and a half after my appointment time, I went back up and asked what was going on because I was about to walk out of the office. Finally, a woman who is clearly lazy and didn't feel like doing her job, tells me that she needs a phone number for my insurance company. I then showed the woman in the front the number written on the forms I had filled out and even she seemed confused because it was right there. She then requested something else and I had to call my insurance company to get the information they were requesting which didn't make too much sense. Long story short, which clearly isn't a long story short, everything they required me to call my insurance company for was indeed on the paper and they had successfully wasted 15 more minutes of my time. Thank God Dr Rice was worth the wait and nothing like the front staff.
She was absolutely great!
Dr. Laurie Rice is great, but the office is always busy and a lot of patients are walk-ins so the wait time is unpredictable (and has been very long the two times i was there)
professional & knowledgable
Dr.Rice has been my doctor for over 3 years she's Awesome Doctor !!!
Dr. Rice is great- she's nice, asks questions, and double checks things. She definitely makes you feel comfortable talking about your health on a big picture level and on details. However, the office is definitely SLOW. The first time I was here, I waited probably about 40-45 minutes before seeing her, and that was with an appointment. I know there were walk-ins, so I'm not sure how that impacts waiting time. The second time, I went in ONLY because I needed blood work done. I filled out new insurance for the new year, and was almost immediately called in for my appointment. After I saw Dr. Rice, she said someone would be right in, but I think they forgot about me! It took about an hour before someone came in to do my blood test, and that was only AFTER Dr. Rice saw me stick my head out- shocked, she found me someone right away. If I hadn't stuck my head out, who knows how long I would have sat there! In sum, Dr. Rice is great, but be sure to allow some wiggle time. If you're early for your appointment, that seems to help, but also know you might need to be proactive to get things moving!
Dr. Rice is always easy to talk with and she even listens! I was given treatment and options as well.
they were a bit behind schedule due to a new system but the efficiency of Dr Rice made up for it.
Dr Rice is always professional. It is the wait time that makes me want to change docs. Even with an appointment the wait time is almost 60 minutes
I have been seeing Dr. Rice for years. She's very caring and helpful.
As usual professional, knowledgable and compassionate---what a great doc :)
She was awesome! Very personable... not cold like some doctors. I'm an energy person and she had a very relaxing energy. Were it not for in-network insurance changes, I'd still be going to her.
I haven been Dr. Rice's patient for sometime now. She always takes good care of me.
She was lovely and concerned and spent time with me.
Laurie is very nice. I would recommend her to anyone.
Always great. Friendly, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable.
Dr. Rice is kind, understanding, and incredibly knowledgable. When she is not 100% sure of some small fact, she will stop, be 100% honest, and find the correct answer for you or make an excellent referral to someone who can.
Very caring and professional.
After Dr 's visit me. About 45 minute or so waiting for blood work. No body know whether I was still waiting. It appears unorganized and lack of communication. Between staff. Patient's verification ID was not done. Very disappointed.
There was long waiting after dr visit . Nurse and PCA were mix up my DOB. When they walk in there didn't ask my full name and DOB. When they try to draw the blood. I saw wrong DOB. I don't want these happen again. Every time they blame system. Since 2012 till now. It this call quality care I don't think you. I don't know when they will shape up.
Dr. Rice is extremely nice! I will be making a follow-up appointment - I would highly recommend her!
Good service. Wait time is ok. Results by electronic is the best part.
Excellent doctor. Very kind and helpful. Was about a 20-30 minute wait but still moved quickly.
Took 2 hours to get a flu shot, I should've just gone to Duane Reade.
Dr. Rice is great. I've been seeing her for years. She is very knowledgeable and empathetic, and has a good bedside manner.
Even though I was only going to a yearly physical and felt fine, she was very thorough and asked a lot of questions about my general health, etc. It's always nice when you feel like the doctor is giving you their full attention during your appointment. Would recommend Dr. Rice to friends.
Professional, but I am still waiting to get the Lab results and hand X-ray results, 10 days later, so no follow up!
She gets it. Very thoughtful, patient, and helpful.
The first time I came in she was great. The second time I needed to come in (almost two months later), she was totally rushed and barely talked to me. She refused to take my blood again because she said it was already fine last time. I had mentioned that I thought I had a food allergy but I didn't know and that's why I came in. Also I had emailed her about this before my appointment, asking for advice and she gave me something to do - definitely did not say "go to an allergist". I came in to talk to her because SHE'S THE DOCTOR. If I really thought I was right I would have gone to an allergist, but I came in to get an 'expert' opinion. The whole meeting was horrible. Also had some skin stuff and she just said "I don't know go to a dermatologist". She did NOTHING this time I came in, she didn't even ask me questions about my symptoms or how long it's been going on. As soon as I came in, "So you think you have a food allergy?" Me: "I don't know that's why I'm here" Her: "Well you need to see an allergist." I kept trying to tell her what's been going on and for how long and that things suddenly changed. She wasn't hearing any of it. I was so upset I started crying at the end because I was so confused by the whole interaction. She said "it will be okay, you're fine." And guess what? I was/am NOT fine. I found out through a competent doctor that I have a serious illness and have been in treatment for at least three months with no clear end in sight. This appointment was the beginning of a nightmare. Additionally, that place has signs everywhere saying it's up to the patient to tell them if their labs are not covered by the patient's insurance. I tried looking it up on my phone before the nurse came in but I couldn't find anything. When I brought that up to the nurse she just said "We only use this one" and turned around. I got billed for the labs that were done the first time in April. I will never go to this doctor or Beth Isreal again if I can help it. I don't think I waited two hours but I wanted to give the lowest score possible because my last visit here directly impacted the speed at which I received proper diagnosis and treatment. Horrible.
Im sure Dr. Rice is a good Dr. if you don't mind waiting over an hour. She didn't really answer my questions..then I waited an additionally 30 minutes to get my blood drawn. Now, I'm stuck trying to get my blood results back. Its like trying to call Delta after all of the planes have been grounded.
She was very professional and listened to all my concerns. No frills or anything special but great quality care from a kind doctor.
Very warm personality and very thorough.
I highly recommend Dr. Laurie Rice and have given her name to a number of close friends who are looking for a primary care physician. Her manner is always professional yet warm and one senses they are being well cared for. She has been my physician for some years and I leave my appointments freshly impressed by her calm competence. She never hurries and when she asks me a question, she listens carefully to my answer. As one who has difficulty with borderline high blood pressure, that feeling of unrushed consultation means a great deal to me.
Dr. Rice is simply wonderful. The medical assistants and support staff are always super friendly and helpful. I don't come very often, but I always have a positive experience! Note: The front desk staff at check-in leave a lot to be desired, but I find that to be pretty run-of-the-mill for most front offices.
totally understands my needs
This was the worst appointment I've ever had. 1) Wait time -- unreasonably long. I had an appointment and they are switching over all of their intake systems. Unfriendly and excessive wait times. This was a planned systems changed - they should have told me before I came in that wait times exceeded 2 hours all day long. 2) My doctor was HORRIBLE. 1) she told me she would prescribe one medication, and prescribed a different one. 2) I asked for a separate prescription and made her re-write it because she got my name wrong. 3) She couldn't remember what she was talking about and never explained her reasoning behind prescriptions. She was running out the door every time I asked a question and I spoke with her no longer than 2 minutes. I will never return.
Laurie was great. No question. But the 45 minute wait was a bit excessive.
Just perfect Knowledgable and kind---what a doc :)
Kind and a good listener!
Dr. Rice is professional to the max. I'm not a nervous patient but if I were, all my anxieties would have been alleviated.
She's just terrific.
Very kind and thorough. I would definitely recommend her.
She was so nice and very helpful! Love her!
She listens. I never feel rushed. She makes great recommendations.
I've been going to Dr. Rice for over a decade. Highly recommended.
Dr. Rice is always professional, and she's also a good listener as well.
My initial visit and I was extremely impressed. Very nice doctor and seemed very knowledgeable too.
It was my first visit and I am pleased with my experience.
Not too happy but it's not entirely her fault. I had a 10:30apt with a 11:40 apt scheduled at another office. Needless to say time precision is very important to me. By 10:36 her 10 o'clock was still in the waiting room with me. Apparently the 10a patient had forgotten her curling iron on and had to go back home to turn it off and Dr. Rice ok'd her to still come in. Nice enough, but that pushes back all other appointments. Once I was in to see her I felt she was rushed, but I expect that was because she was running behind due to that late patient. Either way that office seems to get too much foot traffic, not particularly interested in returning. I really can't comment on Dr. Rice herself because my actual visit with her was brief and in the end she just referred me to a sports medicine doctor.
Dr. Rice is excellent. Such great bedside manner and really cares about her patients.
Dr. Rice was very thorough, caring, and listened to what I had to say. Here bedside manner is excellent,
Dr. Rice was warm, compassionate and very thorough.
Dr. Rice is very warm and has excellent bedside manners. I didn't feel rushed and she returned after blood was taken to ensure I didn't have any follow up questions. Very considerate and obviously cares for your health. I have read horror stories of this place on Yelp, but my experience didn't reflect any of them!
Dr, Rice's manner was both professional and human. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Rice.
Very Attentive and Professional, highly recommend
She's an amazing physician with a great bedside manner. She put me at ease and diagnosed me very quickly. I will definitely be going back! Thanks Dr. Rice =)
Very helpful: took time to discuss all issues during annual check-up; nurses also very attentive.
Dr Rice is extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and projects an incredible aura of calm that immediately puts a patient at ease.
Overall, a very helpful and efficient staff/office. I plan to continue seeing Dr. Rice and others in her practice.
Laurie was very professional and spent a good amount of time with me asking about my medical history and lifestyle. She was very kind and had excellent bedside manner. I would highly recommend her.
the office was shabby due to its midtown location, Dr. Rice was pleasant and prescribed a medicine that helped quickly
i've been seeing Dr Rice for years now and she is professional and warm. i refer her to people all the time.
Dr. Rice was lovely --and to be honest she wasn't dealing with the most lovely person (me) at the start. I'd been sick for days and unable to see anyone due to extenuating circumstances. So I was sick AND cranky AND pressed for time. And she was warm and helpful and fast and effective. Can't ask for more than that. Especially when you're feeling less-than-lovely.
Professional, Excellent Physician .. highly recommend
Dr.Rice was extremely friendly, patient and comforting. Answered all questions and did not rush me at all. Really makes you feel at ease and extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. She also sees patients on Saturdays so that is a definitely plus as well.
I hate to say but the office staff is incredibly unprofessional. I called to confirm my appointment and the man on the other end could not find my appointment for over 5 minutes. Then he proceeded to yell the appointment time again and again to me, only saying that their office lines have been buggy and he was not able to hear me. I can understand a bad connection but there was a significant lack in professionalism and manners. I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early and the doctor did not see me until 45 minutes after my scheduled time which was odd because the front desk told me it was a slow day for the doctor. Dr. Rice was fairly rushed and seemed uninterested in our meeting. I'm healthy and I was there for a physical...I can understand it's not a riveting appointment but I wanted it to be thorough since its my only appointment for the year. She asked me if I knew my own weight and height instead of taking those measurements. When I asked her to take the measurements however, she did right away. What was odd to me most is that the doctor left me to have my blood drawn without telling me what would be included in my test. The nurse drawing my blood told me it would be for whatever the doctor ordered. I had to ask Dr. Rice afterwards ...it just wasn't as forthcoming and seamless as my experience with other PCPs has been. I was surprised my experience didn't match how fantastic she sounds from other reviewers. Perhaps it was just an off day but regardless, since I have full insurance through work, I wish I had picked a nicer office all-around (this is not a sleek shiny office fyi. A bit rundown and also a walk in clinic).
Dr. Rice was professional, compassionate and experienced--all the qualities you would be looking for in a doctor. All my questions were efficiently and effectively answered and was provided the necessary referrals. Highly recommened
I did like Dr Rice quite a bit. She is professional, kind and concerned. But the nature of the office where she is located is really an Urgent Care walk in clinic. It's not like a more traditional private practice. There's little continuity of care, they don't even pull your records of past visits and no one remembers you from visit to visit. Dr Rice is great if all you need to a quick visit once or twice a year, but not if you need to manage a long term condition--which is a shame and not really her fault.
I have seen Dr. Rice for years, and she is wonderful. Very knowledgeable and professional, with a lovely bedside manner. I can't recommend her highly enough.
i've been seeing Dr Rice for a few years now and think she's terrific. i've sent a few friends her way as well.
Ignore the ratings because I did not see the doctor. She had an emergency and did not come in to work. Even though I had an appointment, her reception staff did not call me to cancel. I waited in the office for at least a half hour before anyone told me, definitively, that she was not coming in, thus wasting my valuable sick leave. I am, once again, flummoxed by the lack of good management skills of the reception staff. This is not my first bad experience with the front end of the shop, here and at other doctors' offices throughout this building. Beth Israel needs to improve reception management in this group.
Always a big help. Needed advice on a sports doctor/orthopedic and she recommended one right in the building and even helped put me in for an x-ray the same day! No need to come back another day or travel far for another doctor :) She's an amazing primary care doctor!
I've been coming to Beth Israel for two years and the way the front desk always treats me is very rude and always makes you fill out the same exact form as if you've never been there before. You're better off finding another doctor which I just did and only wish I had done it sooner. All of my appointments seemed rushed and not thorough- the longest the doctor saw me was about 15-20 minutes and I feel that is not enough time. They do book back to back appointments in 15 min slots as well as having a lot of walk-ins. But you will probably wait over an hour if you are a walk-in.
Quick, courteous, and sweet. Seems to genuinely care about her patients.
She was easy to talk to, knowledgable and really listened. She's great, I'll definitely see her again!
She was very thorough and empathetic.
very good visit!
very nice and warm hearted. Wonderful doctor!
I like Dr. Rice, have been going to her for years and she has gotten better with answering questions and concerns about health issues and various medications available. Including making some excellent specialist recommendations.
Over the years I've had so much trouble finding doctors I can trust, but with Dr. Rice I've never had the feeling that she has anything other than my best interest at heart.
Wait was understandable given an emergency situation.
I think it was well handled and quick. Very accommodating and knowledgable. She told me some information I had never been told. I also was given the option and informed to choose my blood work lab to assure myself my insurance would cover it. The waiting area is not too nice to look at, and it was an inconvenience that they did not allow me to fill out paperwork on ZocDoc.com. The staff was friendly, but the front desk could use some cheering up. Regardless, I would recommend this office, it's doctors, and I will go again.
Great, highly recommend. It was my first visit and I have now made her my PCP.
my visit was pretty quick didn't have to wait long.
She cares about her patients.
The doctor is really lovely. I specifically chose this practice due to it's proximity to my office. The staff behind the desk are a little brusk and there has been a wait of 30+ minutes each time I have made an appointment.
She was just okay. I made a late appointment in order to go after work and it was myself and 3 other patients waiting to be seen by her. This is probably the reason why my examination wasn't as long and thorough as I've experienced in the past with my previous doctor.
I had asked for a complete physical, including an EKG. It was okay, although no urine test. Dr. Rice advised me against taking a blood test since I hadn't fasted, which was good. I'll make another appointment. And she suggested I get an annual skin test, which was good.
Laurie Rice is a wonderful doctor. Professional and knowledgeable. However, beware of the billing department - it is a nightmare working with them. When you make a payment, your credit card number is handwritten on a form and (sometimes) entered into the computer at a later date. Even if your bill is paid in full, they often fail to record this information and happily forward your information to collections. I had an appointment in July, paid in full on October, then they lost my paperwork (with my credit card number on it). I paid again in December, but they forgot to enter this into the computer and they sent me to collections in January. Once I paid the bill from collections, it took over a month for Mount Sinai billing to show record that I paid. And if you call their billing office, plan to wait on hold for at least an hour.
She was very professional and kind. Made me feel comfortable. Asked a lot of questions and seemed incredibly knowledgeable. Will definitely be going back! :)
Dr. Rice is wonderful! Extremely kind and informative, thinks big picture and is great at putting things into perspective.
Laurie was short and unpleasant. It was apparent that Laurie did not want to be there. I know it was a Friday evening but show your patient some decency and give them the deserved attention.
Doctor Rice was terrific, friendly and a good communicator. Also, my wait time consisted entirely of me filling out paperwork as a new patient, as soon as I was done, I went right in. Excellent experience.
She is not only knowledgable for what she does but also calm to make me feel very secured.
I was not impressed.
Dr Rice was excellent
Dr. Rice was fine, I made an appointment as I had bronchitis that needed to be taken care of right away and she had same day availability. However, the wait time before seeing Dr. Rice was excruciatingly long. I was 20 minutes early to my appointment but still waited over an hour after my appointment time. The office also takes no responsibility in making sure the lab they use accepts your insurance, you have to know and instruct them on whether you want any lab work sent to a different lab. They also did not use the correct billing codes for my visit so I'm now trying to work that out with my insurance company.
She always is pleasant and thorough.
Dr. rice was fantastic!
Short visit, but thorough. Open late on a Friday which was amazing.
I really liked Dr. Rice - she was very nice and had good tips for me. She was also quick, which I appreciated. However, I waited for about 30 minutes in the waiting room and then another 10 minutes in the examining room before I actually saw her.
I saw Dr. Rice for an annual checkup. She had such a peaceful demeanor. I immediately felt welcome and at ease. She was very helpful in finding specialists for my additional questions. I would definitely recommend her.
Professional, very nice and answered all my questions and concerns.
Dr. Rice is one of the best doctors that I've ever had. She really listens and she's very thorough.
Rice was extremely nice and calming. I went in to discuss some symptoms and concerns and she was very responsive. Definitely will return if needed.
Dr. Rice is great--she's easy to talk to and she doesn't make you feel rushed. The atmosphere around the office otherwise isn't the most professional; I heard somebody arguing with a patient down the hall about a billing issue, then a doctor complaining loudly to an assistant about the front desk not getting her paperwork when she needed it.
Very knowledgeable, would definitely recommend!
She is very helpful and I would definitely recommend Dr. Rice. She is always very kind and listens attentively and works hard to solve any issue. I trust her a lot and I made her my primary care doctor.
Bueno. She knows how to tailor the experience to the patient.
Bit of a long wait, but Dr. Rice is really compassionate and helpful.
As always, she is excellent.
She was very sweet and straight to the point, which I liked because I had to go to work right after.
Dr Rice is great! Great table side manner, seems to care, answers all questions, doesn't make you feel rushed. The only thing is the office wasn't able to pull in the medical history I filled out on ZocDoc, so I had to do that all again at the office. Overall, I'd go back.
I waited for an hour in the examination room before the doctor visited. She spent less than 10 minutes, prescribed medication and left. I would give the visit a 7/10.
Very good. She made you feel comfortable.
I needed a new Primary Care Physician for insurance, which is always a pain, but Dr. Rice was a welcome relief. She took some time to understand my current health, and even though I went in just to get a referral, she was able to get my yearly tests done at the same time. The staff was lovely and helped me navigate my new plan. I went anticipating the visit to be a necessary hardship and was very pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend.
Dr. Rice was professional and did a thorough physical. I would highly recommend!
The doctor sent me to the ER due to my illness with the expectation that I would be admitted. However, when I called to advise her I was discharged, she expressed her dismay but would not admit me herself. Although happy to avoid the hospital I would have appreciated her executing what she thought was a necessary action on my behalf. Dr. Rice ' s professionalism and bedside manner were above my expectations.
Dr. Rice was very comprehensive and the nursing staff in the office were very friendly and warm. I had some complicated paperwork to fill out and she made sure that it was completed properly. Thanks again!
Dr. Rice was wonderful. I really enjoyed my visit with her (routine physical, new patient). She has a great bedside manner and took the time to connect with me.
Dr. Rice is wonderful and caring
Overall quite good.
Front desk was a little abrupt they should be a little friendlier but the doctor was great
Dr. Rice is a caring doctor who will always try to do the best for her patients.
A competent and caring practitioner. I highly recommend her. And my wait time was not at all long.
Dr. Rice is professional, interested and smart
Excellent bedside manner and very attentive.
I went in for a prescription only and she still took the time to examine me thoroughly, look at the test results I brought in, and add her recommendations. She was very sweet and pleasant to consult with.
The wait was short and she was pleasant and efficient.
It is nice to have a doctor who can provide everything needed without having to leave the office.
Dr. Rice is great
Minor wait times to see Dr. Rice. She was pleasant but seemed rushed. Came in for a physical and to check out an injury. Physical could have been more thorough. For the injury, she referred me to Dr. Gordon upstairs, where I had to wait additional time. Not very enjoyable. Didn't feel like I got a lot of TLC here, so I most likely will not return.
No-nonsense, efficient, and quick.
I liked her so much I've made her my PCP, she's really great and has amazing bedside manner. And she's genuinely interested in helping her patients. I would recommend.
She was very nice and answered all of my questions. She genuinely cared about my health concerns and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment option she suggested.
Love Dr Rice. Her assessment was precise and her professionalism quite evident. I felt very comfortable as a patient and indeed, tended to - not just 'processed and seen' I am choosing as my Primary Care Physician.
My first appointment with Dr. Rice was a pleasant experience. I had the sense that she REALLY cared about my whole being and not just the fact that I needed a physical exam and some other work done.
Dr. Rice was very thorough, professional, and kind. The appointment was quick and informative. Dr. Rice let me know when my blood work results would be available.
Dr. Rice helped me through a really awkward and scary health problem with urgency and gentleness. While I'm sure Beth Israel is a stressful cattle call at times, I'm glad I went to her and got an effective referral to a nearby emergency room. #OnTheMend
She is warm, knowledgeable and cares deeply for her patients.
I have been going to Dr Rice for the last 10 years and hold her in both respect and affection. She is thorough in her exams always considerate of the patient. She will also not hesitate to recommend a specialist when its indicated but recognizes that New Yorkers live crazy lives and scheduling is an issue for many. She's the best.
She was super helpful.
Very nice and caring doctor but I feel like the check up could have been more thorough.
Attentive and helpful! I will be back!
Kind, considerate, and thorough. Highly recommended.
I visited with someone else in her office because she was out of town. That guy put me in an X-ray and immediately sent me upstairs to Jonathan Gordon. I appreciate that he didn't waste any additional time of mine, I just wish I'd seen Dr Gordon to begin with.
Dr.Rice is very warm, friendly, and professional. She takes her time, asks questions and is extremely patient and caring.
Nice doctor, a bit of a wait
Laurie was very kind and attentive.
She was very nice
I was absolutely blown away by Dr. Rice's compassionate and patient bedside manner. The office was particularly crazy that day and I had to wait for a while, but the front desk staff were incredibly competent, friendly. and apologetic. And Dr. Rice herself was also very concerned about my wait time. I get the sense that there usually isn't much of a wait.
Dr. Rice is my primary care physician. She is excellent. Very professional and kind. And she is an excellent diagnostician.
Dr. Rice is wonderful! She's truly a thoughtful and personable doctor who listens and doesn't make you feel rushed. Unfortunately, the office is poorly run. There's almost always a long wait, regardless of your having an appointment. And the folks behind the desk vary greatly in terms of helpfulness and professionalism.
Dr. Rice was really nice and helpful.
Dr. Rice is caring, kind and thorough.
Very helpful and listens to your problems!!
Just got a flu shot which was fine.
My first visit, she was extremely likeable and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend.
Wait time is way too long.
She was very helpful and listened to my needs.
Dr. Rice has been my primary care physician for years and after an office visit I always leave feeling grateful that I am in such caring hands. Not only is she thorough and knowledgable, she listens to the patient, which is a great gift in our rushed world. Her manner is exremely soothing and I find that to be a rare quality. I know primary care physicians are under great stress now since the Affordable Health Care Act has become law, the new regulations requiring more paperwork with many more patients entering the system. Hats off to Dr. Rice for carrying on with such professionalism.
No compassion or sympathy. Rushed and did not help at all. Maybe she was having a bad day. But I won't be back.
Doctor was professional, reliable, congenial with an efficient front office as well.
She was very clear and to the point, I was concerned from the previous reviews that she would rush the appointment. However, I didn't feel that way at all. I made sure to communicate all of my concerns and she listened and responded to my questions.
I enjoyed it very much and I would definitely see her again. Very kind and understanding.
Over the years I have seen several of the doctors at BIMG. All have been very good and Dr. Rice was, as well. She has an easy-going manner, is a good listener, and I felt comfortable with her experience and knowledge. Although the visit was not long (it was a sick visit), I did not feel rushed at all. If I didn't already have a PCP, I would have no qualms about choosing her. I highly recommend Dr. Rice and BIMG.
Dr. Rice was very professional and made me feel at ease - I almost felt like I was talking to a friend, even though it was my first appointment with her. I will definitely make her my PCP.
The wait was over an hour and the physical was extremely rushed. I had several questions but she just talked around the first one and moved on. She was obviously in a huge rush so I didn't bother with any other questions. I've seen her several times before and she's a very nice doctor but due to the wait time and rushed appointment, I will not be returning.
I am always happy to see her and have total confidence in her ability and treattment.
This may be the last time I ever see Dr. Rice; if I even see her walking down the street, I'll cross to the other side. I came in for a relatively simple consultation on an injury, only to have her completely blow-off the matter within seconds. Because the office insists on running your insurance and charging the co-pay before you even see the good doctor, I tried to get my money's worth by bringing up another medical issue for her advice, only for her to deftly ignore that as well. I left within 8 minutes of entering the examination room and barely had my blood pressure checked. I wish I could say this was the only time I've been treated like this at Beth Israel, but I see now it's a standard maneuver in their factory farm practice. She literally couldn't even apply a band-aid properly, so she tossed an extra one at me to do myself. Do they just let anyone put on a lab coat and call themselves a doctor?
Even though I scheduled an appointment and had seen the doctor before, I still had to way close to half an hour to be called back to the exam room.
Dr. Laurie Rice is a great doctor. I have been her patient for over 2 years and she had taken great care of me.
Dr. Rice was efficient but not too rushed. Even though my appointment was in the evening on Friday, she took her time and made me feel like she cared about helping me. She did a thorough exam and referred me to appropriate specialists. One of the receptionists was perfectly polite; the other was downright friendly and helpful. Pretty good compared to most doctors office staff. If you're a new patient, I recommend getting there 20 minutes early to fill out all the paperwork (or filling out the paperwork in advance). Even though I arrived 15 minutes early, I still didn't see the doctor until about 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Part of that was because the paperwork took longer than 15 minutes. Anyway, overall, it was a positive experience and I'll be keeping Dr. Rice as my PCP.
Yes. I've been seeing Dr. Rice as my primary care physician for 3 years.
Great physician: very smart, very efficient. A great PCP for busy professionals.
Dr. Rice is amazing!
Dr Rice is an awesome knowledgeable doctor. However the nurse who takes blood does not make you feel very comfortable if you are uneasy about getting blood drawn.
She was very nice- however I had to wait for about an hour in the office! The whole thing felt a bit rushed. Maybe I went on a busy day!
Great doctor, been going to her for the past two years!
Excellent as always
She is an excellent Doctor.
Everyone was super nice and efficient!
Several years ago, after being less than satisfied with my current primary care doctor, I gave Dr. Rice a try. I got lucky; she is a great doctor, intelligent and experienced, with an excellent bedside manner. I am extremely satisfied with her, and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for the best in primary care.
Dr. Rice is very pleasant and was extremely helpful with renewing all my prescriptions/becoming my primary care. The front desk is a bit confusing, but Dr. Rice was great.
Dr. Rice is good. I feel that if I see you regularly why do you ask me the same medical questions on every visit. The wait time was ridiculous my appointment was at 12:30pm didn't get to see the doctor until 1:30.
She's a pro but also compassionate; and listens.
Dr. Rice is great! But Beth Israel could do a better job of collecting patient information. Asking people to fill out forms 7-8 pages of forms is redundant and old fashioned. Also, the office is a bit grubby.
Dr. Rice was very helpful and professional.
Went very well.
Dr. Rice was personable and professional. The nurse had a very good bedside manner and did an excellent job with my shot and blood work.
Professional and polite. Hears you out and gives appropriate attention. Great doc
good. noticed my heart murmur and recommended a follow up.
She was great and everyone was very nice
She was friendly and personable and was able to answer all of my questions.
Great! and really understanding!
She is very helpful. One of the best primary care doctors I have ever had.
It was alright - mostly she wrote referrals, didn't do a lot to address some of my questions. She was pleasant and made me feel comfortable. The offices are a bit run down.
only waited about 15 minutes. very polite, efficient.
Dr. Rice was wonderful. She thoroughly reviewed my records, made good recommendations, and took the time to answer my questions and check the things I had problems with. Despite that, we finished on time and I feel confident that somebody's "looking out for me". I'm very happy that I was referred to her and actually look forward to seeing her again.
I saw her when I was a walk-in patient and decided to return for my regular visits.
Dr. Rice is an excellent Clinician with superior skills and a wonderful bedside manner. She has been my Primary Care provider for over 10 years, and I wouldn't dream of replacing her! Dr. Rice is a definite asset to her Group and practice.
Good doctor. Terrible wait time. Annoying that I had to fill out all the paper work as none of the ZocDoc info carried over.
Dr. Rice is patient, responsive, and really listened and cared about my health. Unfortunately, I got a new job and switched insurance and neighborhoods, so she won't be my GP any more - but I recommend her highly!
Wait times for this office vary a lot! I'd allow extra time for your appointment.
She was friendly, just the right amount of formal/polite, listened to my concerns/thoughts, and gave me an antibiotic that I know works for me.
So someone else
I was there for an hour and a half, and maybe about five minutes of that time was actually spent with the doctor. The rest o the time, I was just waiting. Altogether, frustrating and a huge waste of my time.
I've gone through a lot of primary care doctors before being lucky enough to find Dr. Rice. Although her support staff need a little help - perhaps better management from Beth Israel and more people on the front lines with them - this does not take anything away from Dr. Rice's professionalism and great bedside manner.
Dr. Rice has a great bedside manner; I went in for a sick visit. I had some blood drawn while I was there. The nurse technician, Beverly, was AMAZING! It is usually difficult for me to have blood drawn because my veins are so 'small' and technicians usually end up poking my arm several times, which is painful and causes a lot of bruising. It only took Beverly one try, it barely felt like a pinch, and she also had a great bedside manner. Dr Rice also made an appointment for me at an area Dermatologist to follow up. The only drawback is the long wait...it was about an hour, even though I had an appointment. I read other reviews about this facility and the long wait times, so I was prepared for it. Dr Rice apologized for the wait, as well.
I would highly recommend Dr. Rice. She was patient, thorough, and had a wonderful bedside manner. I didn't feel rushed one bit!
I really enjoy working with Dr. Rice. The only down side is I think the office/clinic is very poorly managed.
very attentive and caring
She is a definite professional and a wonderful doctor.
She is great! I have gone to her twice now since I moved to NYC two years ago. Always very nice and on time.
I was seen by Dr. Rice within 10 minutes. Dr. Rice was kind, answered all my questions, and didn't make me feel rushed.
The Dr & nurse were super friendly. Wait time was ridiculously long. The front desk staff seemed annoyed to help me and they weren't very friendly- I didn't want to be there either... But it is their job to be pleasant and friendly. Dr did apologize for the wait- but still 1.5 hours for a 5 minute examine is crazy.
She is wonderful and efficient.
Surly staff, but a pretty good doctor...if you're willing to wait an hour!
The doctor was good like always. The two male registering up front don't know what they are doing. I waited 45 minutes for my paper to be taken and there was 3 patients in the waiting room before me. It wasn't until the lady on the side took my register paper and register me in 2 minutes!! In acceptable. Give them more training off clinic hours. Or replace them!
she was a perfectly pleasant doctor. However, my appointment was at 12:30 and she didn't see me until 1:30, after I complained twice to the receptionist. She was seeing two people at the same time, so i had long stretches where I was just sitting by myself in the room while she came back to continue the check up. I didn't leave until around 215-230. 2 hours for a simple physical where i had no problem with my vitals and no concerns. Also not thorough. "do you know your height and weight"? great.. - isn't this supposed to actually be checked during a physical?
She is professional and courtesy and always in a friendly mood. She is attentive to individual needs and schedules.
She's always professional, friendly, and caring. Highly recommend her.
i like her she is very pleasant and carying.
Dr. Rice is a caring, thorough professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a primary care physician.
Love doctor rice she is very kind considerate and most importantly Caring
I was impressed. i had used DOCS years ago and needed a new GP so I decided to give it a try and saw Dr. Rice on the website. She, as well as the other members of her staff were nice as well as professional.
Very professional and informative
Dr. Rice was very kind and my visit with her was nice, but the before and after experiences led me to look for another PCP. The front desk had trouble setting up with my insurance and because of a miscommunication about who would gather insurance details, I waited nearly 90 minutes. After the visit, I had general bloodwork done, which listed some "out or range" values, but with no accompanying explanation or direction. I called the office to ask for more information and received a call back from a nurse stating that the doctor had just said everything was fine. It's the perfectionist in me, but if a value is out of range, I'd like to know what caused it so I might address it preemptively.
Dr. Rice is a stellar physician who cares greatly about her patients' health outcomes.
Dr. Rice is very kind. She was patient and listened to my concerns. She is very friendly and approachable. The wait was a little longer than I hoped as it was my lunch break and I had to get back to work.
I was happy to meet Dr. rice and work with her on my health. Very helpful, thorough and efficient.
Dr. Rice is great! Thorough and answers any questions you might have.
My annual physical went well. Dr. Rice took care of everything in a timely manner. I would recommend her.
Dr. Laurie Rice is a wonderful physician. Her whole manner comforts the patient, and her well-modulated voice tends to calm. She's been my primary care doctor for years and "care" is the right word as she truly does provide that. She never rushes through an examination and I have never waited an inordinate amount of time before seeing her. She is an exemplar.
Dr. Laurie is a very patient doctor. She schedules her appointments 15 minutes apart so that leaves no time for you to chat, especially since the nurse will come in and take you temperature and weight. then if you need bloodwork done, someone else will come in and do that, that's all included in your 15 minutes. when I was trying to get some answers about my situation, i felt rushed, at one point while i was talking, she proceeded to walk towards the door and put her hand on the handle while i was talking. I was disappointed, but I will see her again.
Great bedside manner, very patient.
She's incredibly patient. Great with referrals. Goes over your lab work with you. Awesome doctor!
A wonderful caring doctor who makes you feel she really cares about you.
It was ok, very expensive for me and it was a two minute consultation before she just referred me to another, much more expensive doctor. I also asked reception staff for necessary paperwork for my travel insurance, all I have is a payment receipt! Please get in touch with me to send me relevant appointment and referral paperwork!
Issue wS immediately addressed to my satisfaction
Professional, thoughtful, respectful.
She is a wonderful physician
Dr. Rice was very professional and thorough. The initial wait was long, but once I saw her she got me through the visit quickly without me feeling rushed.
I thought she listened to my questions, made recommendations and even suggestions. I really appreciated this.
Dr. Rice was very pleasant and helped me with my sinus infection. She seemed down to earth and friendly and I plan on keeping her as my primary care doctor.
Laurie was great! However, the nurse that checked my temperature and blood pressure seemed lazy. He made me take my own temperature and throw the plastic for the thermometer away my self. I've never been asked that before. Thought it was was strange...
She is great!!!!!!
I am usually scared when I see a doctor but Dr. Rice made me feel comfortable. She really listened to me and was very professional. I'm definitely choosing Dr. Rice as my new PCP.
She was very friendly, professional and quick. Very pleasant experience.
Very thorough, friendly, warm, and patient. Was in and out in an less than an hour.
After some not very good experiences with other doctors and their staff, I'm very glad she's my primary care doctor.
She's the best!!
She listen to my concerns and acked on them
It was great!!! She's very nice and compassionate. Very professional.
Dr Rice is an excellent physician, takes her time with her patients. She is one of the best doctors I had in a long time. Dr Rice is very easy to talk too, gave me great advise. In fact I recomended her to my son and his wife.
Not at all helpful when asked for a medical advice. It was completely useless.
Dr. Rice was great! She's super friendly, personable, and professional. She did not seem in a rush and took her time to go through everything. All the staff in the office were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.
Dr. Rice was very nice, and very helpful.
Dr. Rice was very professional, yet warm. Made me feel very comfortable. I recommend her highly.
Wonderful lady, extremely kind, caring, and helpful
She was great, efficient, and didn't have to wait that long!
Very efficient and gave great education/information
Dr Rice is very nice however the service is awful. I had to call three times to have my tests results sent to me. Then when I received them I noticed that one of the results was very abnormal and explained several of the symptoms that I had relayed to Dr Rice. However, I received no follow up letter or call to come in to discuss the abnormal results. I had to call them and the staff is unpleasant. The place is more of a clinic than a doctors office.
They need improver better cause they lost my account I had restart all over again as a new patient. I have been with them for the pass 5 years. Now I am new patient. It does'nt look excellent at all.
Dr. Rice was helpful once I got in, but it was over an hour past my appointment time.
Good listener, very nice, needed follow up on a chronic condition and a flu shot.
Dr. Rice is confident and professional. But appointment was 12:30 PM and they called me in to the office at 2 PM. The pt. was fasting since midnight. Thank God he is not a diabetic. When one hour has past, I tried to speak to the receptionist. She said we are, fixing the double booking. Everytime we go they always have some excuse. It's either the computer is updating and the system is new. That the front desk staff are not friendly and helpful at all. This is not the first time we waited that long. With the appointment, nobody should wait for more than 1 and a half hour. That shows inefficiency and not quality care. Is this Beth Israel policy? Is this Beth Israel all about? or they don't care about the patient at all.
Dr. Rice was very nice and attentive to my concerns.
She's terrific. Very thorough.
Very attentive & concerned regarding my questions. She put me at ease right away.
Overall, it went well. Dr. Rice seems concerned with caring for her patients. She answered all my questions and gave me helpful suggestions. I will certainly continue seeing her.
After reading her biography on Zoc Doc fir my reasoning of choosing her and then meeting her in person; she met all my expecatations of a primary care physician and then some!!
She is a marvelous, caring doctor and I feel lucky to be her patient.
Highly unsatisfied with my visit to this doctor. Long wait, brief visit. They also make you come back a second time to pick up your blood test results. Rude receptionists. Will definitely not come back.
Dr Rice is wonderful doctor always on time and a good listening as well.
She is an excellent doctor.
Very nice, friendly professional.
The entire process (including the wait) for my scheduled physical was completed in a little bit over an hour, and although the time spent with the doctor in the examination room was short, it addressed the purpose of my visit and I would consider returning in the future.
Reception team is very rude and unprofessional. Drawing blood took 3 attempts- painful. Wish Dr. Rice would spend more than 3 minutes with me, I had questions left unanswered. This I not the first time either.
She was very professional. In addition, she was warm in her approach to bedside care. She paided attention to my concerns and needs, and was engaging in conversation. I would recommend her to others and plan to continue on with her for my primary care.
Dr. Rice is a great Doctor, my visit when well !
The staff was great. Very courteous and respectful. They were very diligent on getting my info set up so that i could see the doctor as soon s possible. The doctor was thorough and straight to three point. Although in the end i waited a bit long between my blood tests and final talk with the doctor.
She knew what was wrong with me right away and treated me in her always professional but highly compassionate manner.
Great. I wish she spent a little bit more with the patient. Maybe ask more personal questions.
She really listens and thinks about your "whole" health.
Dr. Rice can seem rushed but always answers questions with care. If you're going for a physical and are healthy, your whole visit should be over in 30 minutes or less! Bloodwork and all!
She is so nice, and always answers all of my questions. I highly recommend her!
She is learning how to interact with patients. I am happier with her than I have ever been.
I really like Dr. Rice. She's kind and easy to talk to. My annual physicals are quick and easy but she's still very thorough. I'd recommend her to anyone.
She is informed and engaging. I like her very much as my doctor.
Perhaps my expectations are high but if I have not seen my doctor in over six months is it too much to ask that they spend more than 20 minutes with you. I expect the Dr. to explore what your situation is in depth. I showed her a skin issue that I thought might be ringworm and from feet away she agreed but did she put on some gloves and actually look at it ... NO. Very disappointed. Need to change PC again.
Dr. Rice was very present and professional! I am always a little intimidated when I visit a new doctor, but Dr. Rice was approachable and easy to talk to. I feel very lucky to have chosen her.
Quick and precise
I found Dr. Rice to be personable, discreet and helpful. There was a long wait although I had an appointment, but I understand it was my first appointment there so there was paperwork to be filled out.
Excellent care, wonderful medical care and good facility
She is very nice, and addressed all of my issues. Highly recommend her!
Excellent doctor and I had a great experience. The reception staff on the other hand were not rude but definitely abrasive and not friendly.
Dr. Laurie is very thorough and patient. You never feel rushed. She will stay with you until all of your questions are answered
EXCELLENT CARING SERVICE
Dr. Rice was very nice. She has a soft and very reassuring voice. The physical was quick and she listened to my concerns patiently, even though she was having a busy day. I deducted a star for the office though. Not the nicest facilities, though the receptionist was very nice, and they did not get me in to see her until over an hour after I got there (right at my appointment time). The office takes walk-ins and she was the only doctor there that day, so I'm not sure if this is the norm. But what is the point of letting people make appointments if you are also taking walk-ins which push back the people with appointments?
She recognized that a specialist was needed and she got me in to see a vascular surgeon in my network that same afternoon. I got the treatment I needed because she knew I needed help and she knew what to do. Thank you, Dr. Rice.
Dr.Rice is great! She actually listens to her patients & doesn't rush through.
Dr Rice is professional and she is patient, she waits and tries to understand the patients condition and symptoms. Also made referrals. Good for a first time visit
She is friendly and knowledgeable. I got a thorough physical and a referral to a specialist. I would gladly see her again.
knowledgeable and personable, great visit
It was excellent
She is great.
Very professional and courteous. The nurse was really nice and helpful as well. The wait had to do with my being a drop-in patient and Dr. Rice not being in the office at the time, so less to do with her than the situation/context.
She always mâkes you feel at ease And is very genuine.
She is very cool person and so knowledgable for medicine, but she does not to push me to take any drugs right away. I respect her approach. The best doctor ever!!
I have been seeing Dr. Rice for a few years now, my husband sees her too. Even though the DOCS office staff leave something to be desired, we really love Dr. Rice and think it's worth dealing with. I highly recommend her for as a GP for anyone.
Dr Rice is an excellent, compassionate doctor who truly cares about her patients. I cannot recommend her more highly.
Very personable and gentle. Had nurse/staff call me when I left early mistakenly thinking we were done with the name of a specialist she wanted me to see -- i.e., she's thorough.
I think Dr. Rice is terrific. She is very thorough, which is why there is such a long wait time. She never rushes me and answers all my questions. When she makes a suggestion, diagnosis or prescription, she always explains what the alternatives, ramifications and side effects are. Her manner is quiet and low-key. I've tried several other doctors at the same clinic, but chose Dr. Rice as my primary care physician for her reliably good care.
Dr. Rice is always attentive, considerate and answers all questions.
Dr. Rice is a competent, caring individual. I feel confident that she has my best health as a priority in our relationship.
Very professional and pleasant.
Dr. Rice is an extraordinary physician and warm human being.
She is kind, professional, caring, and I feel safe in her care!
Dr. Rice grasped my situation quickly, was thorough and efficient, and above all competent. I had confidence in her and will return to see her, if necessary.
Dr Rice was very professional and a caring doctor. She was very prompt in getting back to me on results.
She is fantastic and thorough
She was cold, uninformative. I went to her on a follow-up after being in the hospital and she seemed inattentive and in a rush to get me out of there and in no mood for questions.
She is a great doctor and I always enjoy seeing her. She is very supportive.
After waiting 45 minutes Dr. Rice took all of 3 minutes to see me in which time she didn't display a modicum of medical curiosity. She literally asked me zero questions and did such a cursory examination that I felt the need to volunteer information for fear that she may have skipped some important details. Then she prescribed me antibiotics that I gave me terrible side effects, which is not her fault but when I left a message for her to call me back the man on the phone failed to relay my message (which I only understood after not hearing from her in 6 hours). Then when I left a second message, she didn't call me back but instead had someone else call me to tell me that I should go to the emergency room. I have never had such a "hands-off" experience with a doctor in my life. How she has a grade of 4.5 stars is mystifying.
She is very kind and shows a genuine interest in you and your health.
Dr. Rice is smart, listens to her patients, has excellent bedside manner, and makes great recommendations. I am happy to have her as my primary physician.
Laurie is fine. Admin staff are terrible.
She is very calming and listens to details. Made me feel at ease; really great.
Really wonderful and kind.
professional, respectful, good listener, and keenly aware of patient privacy, i.e. carefully closing the door when speaking with a patient.
She was amazing and professional. She listened to all my complaints and reassured me. Overall the best pmd I've ever been to.
Kind, caring, and prescribed just what I needed. Also recommended a homeopathic treatment I've never tried before!
It was very friendly and I appreciated her help and willingness to engage with what I brought to her. I did feel a bit let down that more definitive answers couldn't be found, but I suppose this is not the job of the primary physician.
She is the reason I return to Doc's!
She was so friendly! I would absolutely go back. My appointment was efficient, and I felt comfortable the whole time.
I always have a great visit with Dr. Rice, she is an excellent Doctor !!!
Waste of my time
I am so thankful to have a great Dr. like Dr. Rice. She is always kind and takes time with me no matter how busy the office is! Here staff is super too!
I waited over an hour for my appointment because Dr Rice didn’t see my paperwork in the folder slot, even though it was there. Compare to other doctors, she didn’t make an effort by approaching the folder slots to carefully check the paperwork. She apologized when she took me in. Dr Rice is knowledgeable and experienced doctor. However, she is not a very good listener. I told her my brief medical history and the reason for the appointment. She would immediately forget when the issue came up again a few minutes later. I asked her for specific blood work to be done and when the nurse came in, asked if she wrote it down. She didn't. Fortunately, she came back to the room at the right time to put it down.
Dr. Rice is a awesome doctor ! !
Dr Rice was amazing and attentive as always. I cannot say the same for the administrative staff as I sat and waited for an hour and a half to see her. Although apologetic, the damage had been done. I just wanted to get out of there.
Doc is good but hate the office- wait time and service.
I liked her very much. I think I may keep her as my Primary Care Physician.
I had my first Visit and i was very much impressed.
She was quick but thorough and made me feel very comfortable. Her office runs pretty smoothly first thing in the morning which is nice.
I've been coming to this location for about 5 years. Pretty disappointing that I learned doctors do not administer shots, only the nurses at this location. Best part is the nurses work 8-4. No one told me this and I had mentioned this is what I needed beforehand. I arrived at 4 pm to learn this. It's a same that the doctors at this location can't assist in the absence of nurses who aren't staffed when needbe. I will be taking my business elsewhere where they care about patients and not tell them to come back tomorrow.
Dr. Rice is consciencious and considerate. I was satisfied with my appointment.
I did not like it
Dr. Rice was wonderful, very nice woman and very empathetic to my needs. I don't believe that the demeanor of the Front Desk receptionists match your doctors. The lady who checked me in was nice and helpful however I watched some of the interactions between other receptionists and they were not helpful, even bordering on rude to some of the other patients.
She was warm attentive and answered all of my questions.
Everything went well besides the wait.
Dr. Rice is great. She listens and makes sure you are taken care of.
Dr. Rice is great and I always feel that I'm in good and competent hands when I have to come in for something.
Dr. Rice is a great Doctor ! !
Great visit, didn't wait long at all.
This is the second time I've been to see Dr. Rice. She's the most wonderful doctor. The pharmacist got my script wrong and she literally walked next door and fixed it. She's always warm and pleasant, which helps even more when you're already feeling sick!
Very thorough and knowledgable. I really feel I can trust her opinion.
She seemed concerned about my issues and came up with good ideas to see what is wrong
Doctor was great! Paid attention to all my concerns, was warm and friendly. Only issue I had was with the wait: over an hour and I had an appointment. Note that this office is also a walk-in clinic. Good to have just in case, but the waiting room felt chaotic. I probably would have waited less if I were a walk in.
Dr. Rice was very friendly, thorough, and answered all of my questions. Everything was done in the office so I didn't have to go to a lab. Wait time (before work) wasn't too bad.
She is great and wants to be helpful but the wait was very long. I was seen at 1:45 and not 1:15 liked I booked an appointment for. I only came in for a referral for a specialist and it would be great if they could have taken that into consideration.
Dr Rice has been my PCP for approximately nine years. I have found her to be consistently thorough and compassionate. She recommends higher levels of intervention when necessary but does not send you to needlessly to endless specialists. Her recommendations have been spot on. And while she definitely advocates proactive wellness, she does not preach endlessly or offensively like some doctors, making her advice more manageable and likely to be considered.
Dr. Rice was very nice and helpful. The staff at the desk were also helpful. The wait time, however, was very long. To have an appointment, and not be seen until a full hour after the appt time is frustrating.
Visit with Dr Rice was great. We quickly went over my symptoms and then I was on my way. Do get there 15 minutes early as this is a popular place.
Dr Rice is always pleasant & I find myself lucky to have found a doctor with a pleasant bedside manner in such a busy city
Dr. Rice was great. Everyone was very fast and efficient. I was extraordinarily pleased and impressed.
Very nice and very convenient appointment. Great location and quick staff.
Dr. Rice was great! Listened to me, compassionate, and helped me book an appointment with a specialist right away.
Not exactly the general practitioner I was expecting. This was a walk-in clinic and the staff and dr. acted as such (aka rushing through cases).
Easy bedside manner, highly professional .
Good stuff! As usual!
She was very nice, and addressed all of my concerns. I highly recommend her!
Dr Rice is everything you look for in a doctor: she is highly competent (I realize there is always a question as to whether a civilian can evaluate a doctor's skills, but I have most certainly benefited from her care during some serious issues); she is compassionate; attentive to my questions and concerns. She is clear, direct and will give you the time you need. What else can you want in a doctor?
Dr. Rice is an excellent physician. She is cery thorough and aleays takes time to answer all of my questions.
She is a great doctor.
Dr. Rice was excellent. I then waited 30 minutes for my blood to be drawn.
She is amazing! Caring, knowledgeable - she takes interest in any issue I may have. She's been my primary care for 2 years now, and am very happy to have her as my doctor.
Dr. Rice is thorough, professional, and prompt. She is a good listener and sincerely helpful.
I switched to her from a different doctor at Beth Isreal. I'm glad I did!
Her staff are great and are very helpful. Dr Rice also does her job well.
My visit was efficient I was able to make an appointment on the same day in less time then it would have taken the medical office staff who are very busy. Thank you.
Very attentive and personable. She definitely showed interest in finding out more about my symptoms, which was nice
I really appreciate that Dr. Rice always first evaluates my health problems by looking at my stress level, diet and amount of exercise. Prescribing medication is her last resort, which is a method I respect and very much appreciate. Beyond that, she has never made me feel stupid for coming in and always relates to me in a way that is professional and kind. She's a great listener, sympathetic and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Rice.
She is thoughtful and provides the information you are requesting.
