The doctor gave me prescriptions for 2 completely different type of birth controls and told me to go on blogs to choose which I thought was best. The nurse called me 8 times after my visit and confusion with the pharmacy since this office lists the wrong number- each time she yelled louder and was increasingly more condescending.
Everyone was very nice. He does things pretty old school and trys to make sure if you dont need medication, he hive alternate ways to help.
Despite listing the precise reason for my appointment when I booked, when I saw him, he refused to perform the device (remove birth control from my arm), made me feel bad for getting it in the first place and told me to go to Planned Parenthood which was an enormous waste of my time. Curt and unhelpful.
Dr. Nitkin listened to my concerns, did the proper testing and gave me my diagnosis. He spent an adequate amount of time with me and made sure to give a proper assessment. Thank you!
My first visit and this dr has been able to tell me things that no other dr has ever brought me to tears.
Was a good visit the wait was a bit long Because of being a new patient but everyone there were nice and professional
Great as always
I felt very well taken care of and comfortable. Dr. Leon Nitkin and his team were very efficient and very personable. I am glad I went.
This was a terrible experience. The office at 375 Jay Street is run down and dirty looking. The reception area looks extremely disorganized. The receptionist was noticeably flustered and often rude. I told her that I filled in all of my information on ZocDoc. But it didn't appear that anyone read my information or even my reason for visit! I had booked an emergency visit for nipple pain. They treated me like I was there for an annual visit including blood work, PAP smear, etc. The receptionist charged me a copay before I was seen by the doctor. The waiting room was so packed that people were standing because they didn't have enough chairs. I waited for ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES before the doctor saw me. The doctor rushed through a bunch of routine questions with me, and assumed I was there for my annual check up to renew my birth control. I felt like I wasn't given a chance to speak! I finally managed to say that I was experiencing nipple pain. He sends me into the exam room, gives me a paper sheet and tells me to undress. The nurse opened the door while I was topless in the exam room and was shocked to see I was in there. She kept the door open as she turned to ask the doctor why I was there (other patients could see me in the exam room!). The doctor told me my diagnosis before looking at my nipple. I felt that he was not thorough, and I did not trust his word, especially since I wasn't able to tell him everything that I felt I needed to tell him about the situation. I needed to wait to check out with the receptionist. She tried to schedule me for a follow up appointment. We argued back and forth because I said that I didn't need a follow up appointment and she said that I did. After announcing to her (in front of everyone in the waiting room) that I was there due to nipple pain, I finally got her to understand that I didn't have any tests done and I didn't have a routine visit, it was an emergency visit AS I WROTE IN MY ZOCDOC INFORMATION and that I would NOT be coming back. I was embarrassed. The whole interaction made me very uncomfortable.
He's humorous, the appt was over very quick
As always excellent
Dr. Nitkin was amazing. He and his team made me feel very comfortable and it was a pleasant experience.
Dr. Nitkin is very professional and respectful. He gives great advice and is always willing to speak options with you. He shows care and works with you in suggesting to switch birth control methods etc. Highly recommended.
He's was very professional and I feel calm.
This place is very outdated and almost dirty. They should do something with that super tiny exam room. I am petit and could barely move in there and the nurse was right next to me whole time while I am changing. Such an displeasurable experience. And also, people included a doctor and staff are all stubborn and rude. They don't listen just command you. Absolutely not my type of doctor's office.
He is judgmental and not clear in his recommendations.
He's awesome and he knows a lot about a lot. Very matter of fact. And great great staff, they make you feel at ease. Going to the doctors is never fun but these people didn't make it feel like a chore. I appreciate them.
Kind doctor, honest as well. Would definitely recommend.
Very caring doctor.
He is awesome very hands on , gentle, kind . He is very polite and respectful. He is the first male gyn doctor i have ever had and I was very comfortable with him.
Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was spectacular! They know how to make people feel comfortable and overall they were fast and efficient.
Very professional and thorough
Doctor was nice and easy to speak with. Nurses were nice as well.
I had a pretty terrible experience here. Dr nitkins employees (all women) were generally great, but he was unprofessional and demeaning. I felt like I was being talked down to, my concerns were discounted and ignored, and I was basically forced into scheduling a procedure for a new IUD that I neither asked about or wanted. If you are at all sensitive to blatant misogyny, do not go to this doctor for any of your women's health needs. Ever.
Staff very friendly and pleasant Office was very clean and comfortable
Very gracious and professional, while his staff were extremely personable and efficient.
I arrived at 12:40 for my 12:45 appointment but I wasn't seen until 1:50. Apparently, the receptionist was stuck trying to figure out my health insurance but I would've appreciated it if she gave me an update instead of making me wait over an hour to see the doctor. Once that was sorted out, I was called in pretty quickly. Dr. Nitkin was very professional and answered all my questions. He scheduled me for a follow-up sonogram the next day, and it was only then that I really enjoyed my experience. The nurse technician was SUPER friendly and walked me through the entire process. She made an effort getting to know me, asking questions and talking to me so I wouldn't focus on the ultrasound until after it was done. Then she explained the results as best as she could and told me I'd receive more results in my follow-up appointment. To sum up, I really liked the nurse here. The doctor's okay. Will probably come back again just because the office is so close to my work.
It was really good, this was my first time and I felt a little uncomfortable at first but then I kinda warmed up to the whole experience. I would definitely recommend him .
The receptionists at this practice are exceptionally rude, to the point of being heartless. I was keeled over in pain and treated like a nuisance, both on the telephone and in person. The doctor made many inflammatory statements that turned out to be completely untrue, and sent me away with a prescription. I ended up in the ER a few hours later and was diagnosed with a severe infection in my colon, something that this doctor completely missed while speculation I had an STD or uterine infection. If I had listened to this doctor I could have actually died from sepsis. Overall an incredibly horrible experience from start to finish.
He's the best. Amazing doctor! Won't go anywhere else
I loved it, other than me having to wait more than an hour. My appointment was at 2:30 & I arrived at 2:30 on the dot & was finally seen around 3:45
Great doctor and really kind and professional staff. Thank you
All staff were kind and quick to assist. The only thing I would mention is that as a patient you can hear some things the doctor is discussion with other patients in adjacent room, which may be off-putting for some.
Basically called me fat without really using the term. I came to see a GYN, but felt like I was talking to a dietitian... Even offered me some diet pills. If you are not a skinny twig, DONT GO SEE HIM. Any sign of excess fat, we will deem as overweight and unhealthy. AVOID
Very enlightening !
At first I was a little skeptical because the office doesn't look very professional and the receptionist area seems a little disorganized. I was then reassured when I talked to the doctor...but then became weary again when they took me into an old, dimly lit exam room. I would definitely not recommend this place. I had an annual PAP exam and an ultrasound. The office then proceeded to send me three different requests for payment (of pretty large sums) via the insurance...I honestly think they're scamming the insurance company. I'm going to find another doctor.
Visit was great, Dr. Nitkin and his team were very knowledgeable, kind and efficient. He had a good sense of humor while also providing me with a ton of information during our consultation.
Very professional and best doctor ever!!!
It was great.
Dr.Nitkin is extremely knowledgeable and he solved an issue (or what I thought it was an issue) that other doctors couldn't do for me in over a year! I am so happy to have found him and I would highly recommend him!!!
I am honestly astounded that Dr. Nitkin has a 4.5 star rating, and after seeing him, I wish I had read the negative reviews more carefully, because they much more accurately reflect what my experience was like. I made an appointment for a Pap smear, blood work, and to renew my birth control prescription. Dr. Nitkin was almost an hour late to my appointment. Before doing the Pap smear, he brought me into his office for a consultation. I told him I needed to renew my birth control and that I was having concerns about the estrogen level of my current prescription, so he suggested a different level of estrogen. He asked if I wanted kids soon, and I said no, to which he responded, "you're still a kid yourself." This mildly creepy comment should have been my first red flag. When he brought me into the exam room, he started talking to the nurse as if I wasn't there, and was talking negatively about another patient, saying they were a "bad patient." It made me extremely uncomfortable. Then, when he was doing the exam, he said, "you could have five babies in the next five years, no problem." I thought he was joking so I laughed, to which he responded, "I'm serious." I had already specifically told him that I wasn't ready for children, and this comment made me even more uncomfortable, and honestly pretty angry, too. It made me feel like a farm animal being judged for breeding. After doing the Pap smear and drawing my blood, they insisted I needed a sonogram. Again, I was not trying to get pregnant, and I didn't have concerns about ovarian cysts, so I was confused as to why this needed to be done. But after the bizarre and uncomfortable experience in the exam room, I was so disoriented that I didn't think to protest, and the next thing I knew I was whisked into another exam room (that honestly looked like it used to be a closet) to have the sonogram done. After all was said and done, Dr. Nitkin failed to call in my birth control prescription, and when he finally did, it was the incorrect level of estrogen, with no refills. I returned a few weeks later to retrieve my test results, and Dr. Nitkin informed me that my Pap smear did not register, so I had to make a THIRD appointment to redo it. I told him I would call and make the appointment (I did not intend to because my experience thus far had been so abysmal). Today I called back to try and solve the refills problem. They said I need ANOTHER sonogram, and they said they can't give me any refills unless I make the third appointment to redo the Pap smear that Dr. Nitkin botched the first time. And I still don't have my birth control. Any doctor, ESPECIALLY a gynecologist, should put their patient's needs first. It should be a safe, comfortable, and judgement-free experience. I felt completely the opposite after my appointment with Dr. Nitkin. He is sexist, disorganized, and irresponsible. It was the worst experience I've ever had with any doctor, ever. I highly recommend going with a different gynecologist.
Dr. Nitkin was pleasant and professional, but I felt a bit rushed. The office staff was efficient. The one standout was Agnes who did my sonogram. She was friendly, informative, and obviously loves her job. Overall, I would say the visit was satisfactory and I would recommend Dr. Nitkin for routine care.
My first visit with the doctor was excellent. Very easy to talk too and thorough with all the exams h took. Took time to explain everything to me. Love him i found my doctor finally.
I would recommend this dr to all females. He was polite , information and asked a lot of questions (important) . Small space but very clean
For the right personality type, this doctor is a great find. Women who seek a doctor that is quick, efficient and deal with personal topics in a non-emotional manner will love this doctor. For those who need a doctor that will respond emotionally and inquizative will be disappointed here. Dr. Nitkin is very knowledgable, up to date and accurate judge of character. His staff is experienced and polite but not overly helpful as overwhelmed with tasks and swiftness of appointments. The office is surprisingly clean (compared with most other doctors who accept Medicaid) with an attempt to make the rooms less sterile: low lighting, wall paper, pictures of flowers, etc. Tip 1: you can only get results in person by appointment. If this does not work for you, find a different doctor. Tip 2: Appointments start at noon, with several people scheduled at same time, so first to show up/put name on list goes first. And yes, often run late but in/out in 15min. So you end up on time.
I made an appointment near my work to quickly renew my birth control (I'd had all needed exams within the past 4 months and brought paperwork to verify that; in retrospect, I should have just called the doctor I originally saw for those exams to get a prescriptions). The doctor did not arrive to the office until 45 minutes after my appointment time. During our appointment, he asked me only four questions, one of which was whether I'd ever had anal sex. I responded that I had never been asked that question in an obgyn visit before, and he said I would not be concerned if I'd been a good girl. I asked for a written prescription and to leave immediately. The prescription did not have a date on it so the pharmacy would not fill it, and I ended up calling my original doctor to get a prescription. Then, five months later (yesterday), I called Dr. Nitkin's office asking them to call in the prescription I never filled. They responded that I needed to come in for an exam, blood work, etc. I said I was not interested in coming in because the doctor had made sexist comments and that I did not feel comfortable. The nurse insisted that a) doctors cannot call in prescriptions and b) that I could not legally get a prescription without blood work. However, after I mentioned medical malpractice, the nurse put me on hold, then came back to let me know they would call in the prescription. Although I have serious concerns about the operational soundness of this practice, my primary issue is that the doctor made me feel unsafe. In day-to-day life, an older man calling a younger woman "sweetheart" or a "good girl" is sexism. However, in a doctor's office - especially the office of someone charged with protecting women's sexual health - this is sexual harassment and malpractice. If you value your time, financial resources, dignity, and/or safety, do not book an appointment at this office.
My appointment with Dr. Nitkin wasn’t pleasant today. Maybe he was having a bad day. I felt Dr. Nitkin was in sensitive and insulting. I made the appointment to get my Pap smear results and to discuss my menopause symptoms. He informed me that I’m not going to feel the way that I did when I was fourteen years old. I’m a soon to be 59 year old woman who had a total hysterectomy in 2014. I’m very much aware that I’m not going to feel that way I used to. The other remark was the reason that I’m suffering from menopause is because I’m fat. I consider Dr. Nitkin to be a great doctor, but I feel he can be a little more sympathetic when his patients try to explain their medical issues.
I love Dr. Nitkin! He's super funny and charming. You would assume that going to see a gynecologist might be a little uncomfortable for you but Dr. Nitkin is so friendly and makes you feel comfortable. He is very professional and knows his stuff! If I could give 10 stars I sure would!
Overall, Dr Leon Nitkin was friendly and put me at ease. However, I didn't feel very good about the visit after leaving his office. - This might be just me, but a nurse was present during the consultation, which made me uncomfortable. She just stood there while I was asked personal questions, and even when the doctor examined me. I thought it was invasive. - The nurses, doctor, woman at the front desk, all spoke in Russian in front of me which I thought was quite rude. - My doctor spent more time telling me a story about a previous patient (which sounded like a soap opera) than trying to help respond to my questions or offer me a potential treatment. I felt disregarded. He also kept calling me "sweetie". - Towards the end of the consultation, Dr Nitkin answered the phone while I was still in his office, speaking with him. He said he needed to take it, and that I should see myself out (in the middle of our conversation). So I had to awkwardly gather my things, and was given a thumbs up when I tried to say goodbye and ask another question. I've never had that kind of thing happen to me with a doctor before. Very puzzling.
Dr was really gentle and professional I had pretty much no wait time and he mad m feel very comfortable!!
Wonderful doctor, he has been my doctor for 10 years.
Dr. Nitkin is an excellent doctor. Sometimes you are seen in a reasonable amount of time but sometimes it's a long wait. It seems that everyone is booked at the same time so everyone comes at the same time. If they used zocdoc along with real offline booking everyone will be happy. Lol. He is worth the wait though.
I went to him for a second opinion and while I loved him, I was not exact keen about his u/s tech. She was a bit rude. He however, was extremely helpful and made some awesome suggestions. He may have saved me from an unnecessary surgery. I just know that a wack staff can bring an amazing doctor down and therefore the jury is out on whether I will make him my GYN.
This office is incredibly poorly run and the doctor and his staff are extremely disorganized and rude. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes for my first appointment here, with no apology whatsoever or regard for the lateness of this appointment. My visit was extremely brief and I felt like I was barely seen or acknowledged by the doctor- I was in and out of his office in a matter of minutes. On my second visit I waited over an hour, once again. After waiting for 45 minutes and seeing that there were 8 other women in the waiting room who had been there before me, I nicely asked the receptionist if she could gauge how long the wait time might be. She was very rude and told me that the doctor had only just arrived and asked me what she was supposed to do about that. I was not only appalled to find out we had all been waiting almost an hour for a doctor who was not even in the office, but also with the way I was spoken to. When I asked to cancel my appointment because I had other commitments, the receptionist yelled at me. I waited fifteen more minutes (which is how long the receptionist promised me I would have to wait) and then walked out. I will never return to this office again and urge you all to never even go to begin with!
Great staff, questionable doctor-like demeanor. If you are easily offended this is not the doctor for you.
I'm already having a bad day, and he grabs my tummy and tells me "This has to go Cookie".
Amazing doctor I have ever experienced!!
He was great. Thank you
Dr. Nitkin is a wonderful doctor and I have been a patient of his for many years. He is very thorough and he explains everything to you. Very funny also which I love about him. Lol. The wait time is much better now than it was before.
Very good he take's his time to examining and explain everything to you,he is very polite .
This is the worst doctor that I have ever been to. I was pregnant and was having a miscarriage. The woman doing the sonogram was nice and professional. The doctor on the other hand was horrible. I was waiting to go into his office. A couple went in first to the adjoining procedure room. The nurse then advised me to come in also to his office. That was a red flag because I'm pretty sure the previous couple could hear what was going to be said. The door to where they were wasn't even closed. He tells me the results to the test that I was pregnant and indeed was having a miscarriage. Then he says that I could come in the next day to "get this over with". He spoke to me like I was a child (I'm 25). He told his nurse "schedule this teenager for tomorrow at the other location" Excuse me? WHAT?! Then I asked about prenatal vitamins because I was trying to get pregnant and he tells me those are garbage, what you can do is lose 30 pounds because skinny women have better pregnancies and chubbier ones do not. Mind you.. I weigh 145 and am 5'0. He also said whoever tried to get you pregnant didn't do a good job. The couple in the other room heard everything he was saying to me, I have never been so embarrassed in my life. He was completely out of line and I would not recommend anyone to go here.
It was awful. I don't care to get too much into it, but it was bad.
Great doctor, very knowledgable. He understood right away what I needed and it was clear that my previous Gyno did not know what she was talking about. I wish I came to see doctor Nitkin sooner.
receptionist verified my insurance said I was covered I paid a co payment and then received a bill
I got to the appointment on time. I was told there would be a wait time because the doctor had come in late. When I walk into the waiting room there are six patients still waiting to be seen. I wish someone had called me before I travelled so far to get here on time. Receptionist was rude and curt . I will be looking for another Dr.
i love the fact that he is straight forward, patient and he was very kind! He explained what i needed and didn't rush me and I've been following his instruction and have seen results
He was kind and patient and grew answer all my questions
The doctor had no idea what a fem cap was (a cervical cap) ignored my requests to be measured and told me to get the smallest size ( which would have failed). He recommended I use an instead menstrual cup as barrier protection birth control, which is not its intended use and does not work. Wanted to give me a PAP (even though one was done 6 months ago) and ULTRASOUND (for what?) and then sent me out quickly with a prescription for birth control pills (which i told him i didn't want ) and the fem cap which he had to google online. Also wrote "GOOD GIRL" on my chart and preceded to tell me all these facts about birth control pills which I was not interested in hearing.
Rude and Unprofessional. He had the nerve to tell me if I get pregnant he'll eat his shoe... Well, I just found out I'm pregnant (and it was natural). I will be making an appointment with this doctor one last time just to watch him eat his shoe!
It was a good experience. The Dr kept it professional.
Gave me attitude cause I couldn't handle the pain of the iud ! The office itself looks sketchy and they make you pee in plastic cubs, no lid nothing
Honestly i always go to hospitals for ob/gyn, but i had to see a Doc that same day. Me searching the internet looked up walk in clinics. I found Zoc Doc i made my appointment online and filled out my paperwork online with no problem. Once i get there it was about 10:45, the very professional receptionist told me that the doc gets there at 12 noon that is there schedule, so i was like ok im in Downtown Brooklyn im going to do some SHOPPING! lol. So many years of me going to Downtown BK and never knew about this place and it was right when you come out the train. When i get back to the office i fill out paper work because i never been there before, i waited until he called me he was EXCELLENT. I wish that i would of known about him. He is honest: He tells me that the birth control shot is not good for anyone because later on it could create cancers in your body, it makes you gain weight, etc. He was insightful, gave me tons of information that he printed out from his computer, again i say doctors don't usually do that, this man cares ???????????? Most doctors don't care and say its ok just for the money. When i go in the office it doesnt seem like much but never judge a book by its cover this is a very intelligent Doctor. I loved him! Most places you have to wait for an ultrasound for another day but they have there own ultrasound tech that he could ask for an ultrasound whenever he wants that same day, more offices should be run like this. Definitely not going to be my last time, he is my new Doc lol. Thanks Dr.Nitkin From: Raquel R.
he is the best yet this far. very knowledgeable
I'm happy to finally find a doctor that ask all the relevant questions and tried to find a solution. He displayed proper bedside manners. He was interested in my concerns. This is my new GYN. I'm a very happy patient.
very clean environment , peaceful , very helpful best gyn believe me
Amazing ! Staff could be a little 'nicer' to patients
I've been going to Doctor Nitkin for years. He is very professional and great with recommending natural and effective remedies. He answers all of your questions and usually prints out his recommendations for you. The wait time is long, but it's worth it. He's a very good and experienced doctor.
Awesome doctor was very informative and kknowledgeable. Doctor Nitkin also gave helpful input on other things not pertaining to by visit which was great.
I've been a patient of Dr. Nitkin for almost a decade. Dr. Nitkin and his staff are always professional.
I was given an appt. Arrived there and had to wait. Plus the oofcie was sent my insurance information prior to my appt yet failed to verify insurance until I got there which made my wait time longer. Dark and gloomy office. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Great doctor, I highly recommended Dr. Leon Nitkin.
He was great but the office staff was not
Dr.nitkin it great
Well... I have never seen Dr. Nitkin, therefore my appointment was the first time I have ever met him in person. I filled out a few forms on ZocDoc prior to the appointment, and doing so greatly decreased the amount of paperwork I needed to fill out during my actual visit. I completed a few short forms and waited to be called in the waiting area. I was called shortly after my appointment time, which was great. Keep in mind I started out by saying I had never met Dr. Nitkin prior to my appointment. After being called I proceeded to a room where he and an assistant were. At no time did any of them formally introduce themselves to me, nor make me feel like I, as an individual was important. Before I sat down in the chair in front of Dr. Nitkin, he proceeded to ask "so, what brings you here today?" After stating my primary purpose for the visit. The doctor with pen in hand began to ask me questions and checked boxes. I would have preferred for a warmer greeting and some eye contact, at the very least a formal Dr. Patient introduction. At no time during my visit did anyone take my vitals, such as, weight, blood pressure, or temperature. Which I found odd. While I was being examined the doctor informed me that he would be prescribing me a medication. However, after the examination it seemed that he was in a rush, and forgot to give me the prescription. Another thing I did not like is that the doors in the office are very thin and I was able to hear an entire conversation the doctor was having with another patient. Therefore I knew that it was possible that someone could also hear the conversation I was having with the doctor. I needed a quick appointment and decided to use the ZocDoc page because I like the fact that real people are giving their feedback. I would not recommend Dr. Nitkin in the future, nor will I be returning. When it comes to something as intrusive as Gynological care there is a certain level of care, compassion, warmness, and patience the doctor should display, and I just did not get that with my visit.
He's very professional, he's polite and very attentive.
Dr. Nitkin was very patient and informative. He seemed very caring and took his time to answer all my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend him to others!
Dr Leon Nitkin was nice and friendly, but I was not made as comfortable by him as I would like to be with an OB-GYN. He called me many names like "sweetheart" and "my dear" which I understand is probably just his personality but is not really the way I want to be spoken to by my doctor. He also made an inappropriate joke when he was about to do my pap smear - he asked if I was in a relationship, and if we are monogamous. I answered yes, and he joked that now we will learn whether or not my boyfriend has been a "good boy." I found that pretty weird. The other staff at the office were nice and professional, but I will not return.
Dr. Nitkin is GREAT!!! I'm so glad I selected him as my GYN doctor.
Made fun of me for having a blood phobia, told me to put baking soda in my vagina. Not sure how this doctor still has a license. Stay far, far away.
He is the best!!!! Very friendly and amazing! His staff is ok!
He is such a great doctor , I would recommend him to anyone .
Dr. Nitkin is probably one of the best doctors I've been too! Very knowledgeable, detailed and personal! He Doesn't cut corners and is straight to the point and very caring of your health, how you feel and knowing your body! I will use him as my primary doctor from this point on!
My visit with Dr. Nitkin is always a pleasure
Dr Nitkin is the best gyn doctor I've ever been too. He's very knowledgeable and I would surely recommend him to any and everyone.
It was my first time visiting Dr.Nitkin, & i love him soooo much... He is a great professional, & also warm hearted.
Dr. Nitkin is no nonsense and down to business, exactly how I like my Gynos. I always have trouble getting blood drawn, and as usual I got dizzy/nauseaus afterward. Dr. Nitkin and his staff were very kind, propping me feet up and bringing me some coca cola to get the blood sugar back up. There was kind of a long wait to see the doctor, but the exam was speedy.
Staff has no concept of time management- every time I come here I have to wait at least an hour and a half and they never have any idea of when I will actually see the doctor.
I saw Dr. Nitkin the first time because of the convenience of his office's location. He was overbearing and would not listen to my opinions or thoughts. The office insisted I make a whole new appointment, which I didn't really have time for, to get my test results. Why can't they just be mailed to me? So I had to come back and waited in the waiting room longer than the actual appointment lasted. When he finally saw me, he told me I was a "good girl" because my STD results were negative (ugh). He gave me my prescriptions, insisting on giving me two for 6 months instead of one for a year, handwritten on paper. Get with the times and send my scrip directly to the pharmacy, please. I came back a year later for my annual because I had been too distracted/lazy to find a new doctor and just needed to get my prescription re-upped. Again I found his manner condescending and misogynistic, and ended up with an ultrasound I didn't want or need. Ladies of the 21st century, you can find a better doctor, I guarantee it. Anyone stuck in the stone age, you'll probably love this guy.
I had to wait nearly an hour to see the doctor but it was worth the wait. And to be fair I was a new patient so there was a lot of paperwork to fill out. He is very professional and through and patient. he takes the take to answer all of your questions and address your concerns.
Dr.Nitkan is a great doctor he's very informative and I highly recoomend everyone to go to him. He's such a great doctor and he makes you feel comfortable
I saw Dr. Nitkin a few times now and have no complains! He's pleasant, friendly and professional. He makes you feel comfortable, which is really important especially for an Obgyn. He's always willing to answer any of your questions with out judgement and makes you feel at ease. The office on Jay st looks a bit run down and could use a make over but that's something I'm willing to over look as long as the doctor is worth it, and Dr. Nitkin is. It's really difficult to find the right Obgyn and after years of constantly switching doctors, I'm really glad I found Dr. Nitkin!
Ladies, if you've been told you need a hysterectomy, come see this man for a 2nd opinion before you allow someone to yank out your body parts. he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and will tell you exactly what you need to do. he really helped put my mind at ease after an earlier doc scared me to death, and he assured me that i would get the right treatment if i follow up on his advice with his referral, which i immediately did. I am ENORMOUSLY GRATEFUL to him!
I can't describe how sorry I am that I didn't punch this man in the face when he told me, while I was in the stirrups, "that's what wrong with this country; white women like you don't have babies like the immigrants." He told me how easy it would be for me to give birth because my hips are good for it. Women are nothing but baby machines to this bigoted pig.
I can honestly say that he's one of the best doctors I've ever been too. I would recommend him to anyone.
Loved Dr. Nitkin. He was very matter of fact and gave me all of the information I needed. The wait was a bit long, but I will definitely be going back.
Dr Nitkin was informative, easy going and eager to be of help. I come from a Park Slope doctor that was just too busy and needed a new doctor and I found a quick appt. with xdr. Nitkin. Traveling to Jay street can be a bit if a scene so be prepared. The office and waiting area are not the classic carpeting and flowered wallpaper but a busy paneled hallway. The restroom smelled kind of bad but was clean. Not too expensive of a visit if you pay out of pocket either. He seems like he genuinely cares about helping you and explained a lot. I liked him very much and will use his services again.
Dr. Nitkin is great!
the best GYN doctor.
He is an amazing doctor... very attentive, down to earth, gentle and informative. I will remain a patient as long as he is around!
He was really straight forward but he is accurate and seems to really care. I felt very comfortable speaking with him. Great doctor!!
I was made to feel completely comfortable. The doctor was professional and thoroughly informative.
Best pap smear ever. Didnt even feel it.
Awesome. Best OB/GYN I have ever had.
Dr. Nitkin was friendly, but also condescending. When noting that I had tested negative for STDs, he said "you're a good girl," which I found off-putting. He also directly contradicted some information I had received from a previous doctor, and I have since confirmed that Dr. Nitkin was incorrect on that point. Overall I have decided to keep looking for a gynecologist.
Horrible. Nurse was present during the visit and it made me feel uncomfortable and invaded my privacy... Plus the nurse had trouble taking my blood because she "didn't know my arm"... I don't even know what that means.... The doctor also was rude and pushy about certain topics and has some weird input on some antidepressants I was on... Stick to your field doc! I will NEVER be coming again... He just wants to bill your insurance.
The doctor and his staff were kind and helpful, but the wait was brutal. I'll go back, but I hope I'll see the doctor sooner.
Dr. Nitkin could come across as brusque and/or condescending, but I kind of liked that. He was efficient and told me what I needed to know. The office staff were mostly nice, and the wait wasn't that bad considering it was my first visit. I'll continue to see Dr. Nitkin.
quick, easy, painless and he was easy to talk to.
Dr. Nitkin is very knowledgable and direct. He took the time to explain his answers to my questions.
I highly recommend his service. He was great and very helpful and straight forward.
He's smart and good doctor! But always late! He would have a few appoointments wait for him and he will just be arriving so you end up waiting hours! Its not worth the wait. At first he was very thorough but by my 3time going to him i felt rushed and i didnt get any answers.
The office was a little bit run down. Staff was friendly enough. Dr. Nitkin was nice, but a bit biased in his views on birth control/child bearing and I felt pressured when I disagreed with his viewpoints and wanted a different family planning approach.
I thought the location was great, the staff was great & the waiting area was clean and spacious. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Nitkin to others!
I have so much fun with him he explain to me very well what do i need to do
I felt very comfortable and at ease. He made me feel relaxed and answered any questions I had also gave me additional information on how to stay healthy......
He is a good doctor. The gentlest pap smear I've ever had in my life and I'm 31. However, due to the fact that he preforms plastic surgery on vaginas I felt he was falsly stating that I wasn't sutured correctly to try and push me into having surgery. I have seen 2 other OB/GYN's after my second sons birth and none have ever stated that I wasn't sutured correctly. I was there for a complete different reason and he kept saying that he does the plastic surgery and to give him a call.
nice doc who likes to crack jokes. i wish he would speak a little slower sometimes but overall good doc!!!
Very polite and professional I actually enjoyed my visit. Appointment was at 12pm I was out by 1pm. Highly recommended!!
Dr. Nitkin was very professional and efficent. I Highly recommend him
I have seen Dr. Nitkin since my college years. He is great!
The doctor and the office extremely creepy. They were really pushing for me to have a vaginal ultrasound (I'm not pregnant have never had a miscarriage, was just there for get a routine exam and a birth control pill) and were extremely pushy about it. I felt that they only wanted to have one more reason to bill my insurance. I felt very uncomfortable and will never go back.
