Patient reviews for Dr. Leon Nitkin
Every one was absolutely friendly. Great place.
One of the best gyn I ever seen he was compassionate and understood my situation.
He's helpful. No sugar coating, straight to the point!
I waited no time to be seen. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and was seen 20-ish minutes later. I came due to lactation issues. He listened while he did interject a bit. The whole experience was quick and straightforward and the nurse knew what she was doing when she drew blood so I didn’t suffer.
I haven't visited this doctor in two years and yesterday I remembered why. Instead of talking about my sexual health, he kept telling me how I'm at risk for diabetes and that I need to lose weight. He even went as far as to show me a commercial for an appetite depressant and YouTube videos that "I should watch." There is more of this awful appointment, but I think this is enough to prove my point. Instead of educating me how to properly use birth control, I got told "you're not even on birth control, and you got a little plump" Not that it's anyone's business, but my blood work shows that I'm not even prediabetic!
I have been going to him for 12 yrs I trust him. Dr. Nitkin makes me feel comfortable answers any and all questions I have and explains in detail which I appreciate.
Dr Nitkin arrived over 2.5 hours late and walked through a room of waiting patients without so much as an apology. His manner was nice enough but he breezed over my pregnancy concerns (carbon monoxide poisoning etc) and told me I should make an appointment at a hospital. I explained that I had made the 10 week appointment to check on my high risk pregnancy with an ultrasound, as he ushered me from the room. He then told me that his ultrasound technician never showed up today. I felt this could have been communicated to me during my 2.5 hour wait. In essence my appointment gave me zero benefit of any kind. I was tremendously disappointed in his service and wonder if he would have apologized to a room full of non Medicaid paying patients.
Dr. Nitkin is excellent. Very honest and thorough. I'll most definitely be back.
Terrible experience. Very judgmental. Trying to talk about birth control to me when I came in to see if I was pregnant. What he didn’t care to ask is if I planned to get pregnant or not. I am in my 30s and was there with my HUSBAND hoping for good news! Don’t make assumptions.
Great GYN. Got right to the point. Also a great sense of humor.
Very long wait, uncomfortable and unfriendly experience, small, dark, and dirty rooms... not recommended
He's incredible. He cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain things.
First time with a new doctor. The receptionist and staff were all nice and friendly. A good intro to the doctor who was very warm and welcoming. I appreciated the efficiency and quickness of all the procedures, without the feeling of being rushed or waiting too long either.
He’s an awesome Doctor...
My experience with the 1120 Brighton ave office was so so, the doctor was nice but he basically told me that I should get a tubalization once I had my baby, and seemed to be judgmental because I haven't been on birth control. He spent less than 10 minutes with me and this was my initial visit he didn't do extensive background that you would expect. The nurses were kind of loud and laughing very unprofessional in my opinion. And the ultra sound tech didn't leave the room when I had to take my clothes off nor did she allow me to see my baby. The waiting room was small and crowded but clean not a lot of seats. The my appointment was 615 and I wasn't seen until 5 minutes to 8 and I arrived 30 minutes early. I will go back again but only until I find another doctor that I like.
As always he is a sweet heart to see very professional
IT WAS MY FIRST TIME GOING TO THIS OFFICE. IT WAS A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. FRIENDLY STAFF. WAIT TIME A BIT LONG BUT IT'S WORTH THE WAIT.
I always love coming here , very respectful and I’m always in and out , I will highly recommend !!!!
Dr Nitkin was great. Yeah staff were the rudest I've ever dealt with.
Very informative meeting. Just an annual check up for me but the Dr. Nitkin helped me to understand things that were not part of the routine checkup procedures. I can tell this Dr and his staff truly care about women’s health and do what’s in their power to help and inform.
I’ve been seeing Dr.Nitkin for a few years and nothing but great experiences! Very professional and informative. Amazing doctor and I’ve been through a few gynecologist. He’s a keeper.
The doctor gave me prescriptions for 2 completely different type of birth controls and told me to go on blogs to choose which I thought was best. The nurse called me 8 times after my visit and confusion with the pharmacy since this office lists the wrong number- each time she yelled louder and was increasingly more condescending.
Kind doctor, honest as well. Would definitely recommend.
Everyone was very nice. He does things pretty old school and trys to make sure if you dont need medication, he hive alternate ways to help.
Gave me attitude cause I couldn't handle the pain of the iud ! The office itself looks sketchy and they make you pee in plastic cubs, no lid nothing
Despite listing the precise reason for my appointment when I booked, when I saw him, he refused to perform the device (remove birth control from my arm), made me feel bad for getting it in the first place and told me to go to Planned Parenthood which was an enormous waste of my time. Curt and unhelpful.
Dr. Nitkin listened to my concerns, did the proper testing and gave me my diagnosis. He spent an adequate amount of time with me and made sure to give a proper assessment. Thank you!
My first visit and this dr has been able to tell me things that no other dr has ever brought me to tears.
Was a good visit the wait was a bit long Because of being a new patient but everyone there were nice and professional
Great as always
I felt very well taken care of and comfortable. Dr. Leon Nitkin and his team were very efficient and very personable. I am glad I went.
This was a terrible experience. The office at 375 Jay Street is run down and dirty looking. The reception area looks extremely disorganized. The receptionist was noticeably flustered and often rude. I told her that I filled in all of my information on ZocDoc. But it didn't appear that anyone read my information or even my reason for visit! I had booked an emergency visit for nipple pain. They treated me like I was there for an annual visit including blood work, PAP smear, etc. The receptionist charged me a copay before I was seen by the doctor. The waiting room was so packed that people were standing because they didn't have enough chairs. I waited for ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES before the doctor saw me. The doctor rushed through a bunch of routine questions with me, and assumed I was there for my annual check up to renew my birth control. I felt like I wasn't given a chance to speak! I finally managed to say that I was experiencing nipple pain. He sends me into the exam room, gives me a paper sheet and tells me to undress. The nurse opened the door while I was topless in the exam room and was shocked to see I was in there. She kept the door open as she turned to ask the doctor why I was there (other patients could see me in the exam room!). The doctor told me my diagnosis before looking at my nipple. I felt that he was not thorough, and I did not trust his word, especially since I wasn't able to tell him everything that I felt I needed to tell him about the situation. I needed to wait to check out with the receptionist. She tried to schedule me for a follow up appointment. We argued back and forth because I said that I didn't need a follow up appointment and she said that I did. After announcing to her (in front of everyone in the waiting room) that I was there due to nipple pain, I finally got her to understand that I didn't have any tests done and I didn't have a routine visit, it was an emergency visit AS I WROTE IN MY ZOCDOC INFORMATION and that I would NOT be coming back. I was embarrassed. The whole interaction made me very uncomfortable.
receptionist verified my insurance said I was covered I paid a co payment and then received a bill
He's humorous, the appt was over very quick
As always excellent
Dr. Nitkin was amazing. He and his team made me feel very comfortable and it was a pleasant experience.
He's the best. Amazing doctor! Won't go anywhere else
Dr. Nitkin is very professional and respectful. He gives great advice and is always willing to speak options with you. He shows care and works with you in suggesting to switch birth control methods etc. Highly recommended.
He's was very professional and I feel calm.
This place is very outdated and almost dirty. They should do something with that super tiny exam room. I am petit and could barely move in there and the nurse was right next to me whole time while I am changing. Such an displeasurable experience. And also, people included a doctor and staff are all stubborn and rude. They don't listen just command you. Absolutely not my type of doctor's office.
He is judgmental and not clear in his recommendations.
He's awesome and he knows a lot about a lot. Very matter of fact. And great great staff, they make you feel at ease. Going to the doctors is never fun but these people didn't make it feel like a chore. I appreciate them.
Very caring doctor.
I can't describe how sorry I am that I didn't punch this man in the face when he told me, while I was in the stirrups, "that's what wrong with this country; white women like you don't have babies like the immigrants." He told me how easy it would be for me to give birth because my hips are good for it. Women are nothing but baby machines to this bigoted pig.
Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was spectacular! They know how to make people feel comfortable and overall they were fast and efficient.
Very professional and thorough
Doctor was nice and easy to speak with. Nurses were nice as well.
