About Dr. Long Thanh Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and a Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. He completed externships at the Portland VA Medical Center, Dorchester House Health Center, and Chrycy Advanced Contact Lens Center, earning honors at each site. In 2017, he became one of the few American Board Certified optometrists in Los Angeles County, a distinction held by just 10% of optometrists nationwide. A passionate advocate for global eye care, Dr. Nguyen has participated in over 10 mission trips to countries like Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador, as well as local clinics serving low-income communities. His goal is to change lives by diagnosing and treating vision issues, particularly in children who are misdiagnosed with learning disabilities due to uncorrected vision problems. Dr. Nguyen is our myopia management specialist and has expertise in fitting specialty contact lenses for irregular corneas, including those following corneal grafts. He also works with pediatric patients, seeing children as young as 6 months old. He is a member of the California Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), and serves as a Business Development Consultant for Vision Source. Dr. Nguyen is also fluent in Vietnamese.
