About Dr. Louis Binder

Louis S. Binder, O.D., specializes in the evaluation, treatment, and management of LASIK, cataracts, dry eye, keratoconus, specialty contact lenses, and diabetic eye care. He is an FDA Sub Investigator for the approval of new technologies in the eye care field, as well as an FDA Sub Investigator and Study Coordinator for new dry eye therapies. A native Houstonian, Dr. Binder earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He later became the first optometrist certified as a LASIK surgical assistant in Texas, allowing him to actively participate in all aspects of patient care throughout their entire laser vision experience. Dr. Binder has served as a Senior National Board Examiner in the clinical competency of fellow optometrists and is a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery. Aside from spending time with his family, his interests include teaching sailing, cycling, and volunteering at the George Observatory.
