Dr. Spiker is a member of the Virginia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He graduated from Bethany College in Kansas with a bachelor's degree in biology in 2004. In 2009, he earned his Doctorate in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. In his spare time, Dr. Spiker enjoys spending time with his family. His wife, Dr. Amy Blue, is also an optometrist, and they have a son and daughter who keep them very busy. He enjoys playing golf, fishing, and spending as much time outdoors as he can.
