About Dr. Markiel Yakubov
Michael Yakubov, OD, earned his Bachelor of Psychology from Queens College, City University of New York. He then went on to earn his Doctorate in Optometry from State University of Optometry in New York. Dr. Yakubov completed externships in several different modes of practice. It was there that he gained an understanding of ocular disease and treatment. He participated in comprehensive eye examinations; cataract, glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension, macular degeneration evaluations; as well as pediatric and geriatric eye care. Dr. Yakubov also completed an externship at the East New York Diagnostic Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he gained valuable experience in diagnoses of ocular disease pertaining to overall systemic health. He then joined Med Elite Healthcare Group as medical director overseeing and guiding all operations pertaining to optometric care. Today, Dr. Yakubov performs comprehensive eye examinations, with special emphasis on eye health. Dr. Yakubov diagnoses diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, cataracts and other ocular pathology. He also has a special interest in contact lenses. Dr. Yakubov fits a wide variety of lenses at a private practice in Queens. In his spare time, Dr. Yakubov likes to spend quality time with his wife and children, and their extended family. He also enjoys reading, biking and outdoor sports.

Super welcoming staff especially on a Sunday! So rare and I am so grateful they're open! I work M-F 9 to 6 and needed glasses. Doc showed me my eye, described what we were looking at and how that can be affecting other parts of me. -- Told me to ask for certain tests for my PCP to make sure I am good and healthy all around. Talked to me about my eyes and the lenses I needed. Quick, efficient, trust worthy, and clean office.

Probably the most comprehensive eye exam I’ve ever received. He uses more advanced technology to photograph each part of the eye and very clearly and thoroughly walked me through everything.
The staff was also extremely friendly.
