She attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska where she graduated summa cum laude in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Honors Biology and minor in Spanish. She went on to attend medical school at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal then moved to Kansas City where she did her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Missouri Kansas City. She completed her residency training in June of 2012 and was honored to receive the Eugene W. J. Pearce Award for an outstanding resident with characteristics similar to Dr. Pearce including honesty, humility, and competence. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal also received the James P. Youngblood Award for best resident teacher, the Saint Luke’s Hospital Outstanding Resident Award, and the Award for Best Clinical Research Project for a study looking at IUD removal rates. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal was in private practice in Lincoln, NE from 2012 to 2018. She and her husband, Greg Kozal, relocated to Shenandoah in September of 2018. They have two children, Genevieve and Griffin, and a shih-tzu, Ozzie. They are happy to be back in a smaller community and are looking forward to raising their children here. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal is excited to serve the women of southwest Iowa & northwest Missouri, while being supported by other caring providers and staff. “I love providing care for women and walking through some of the most exciting and trying times of life with them.
