*Cancellation/ No Show Policy for Doctor Appointment We understand that there are times when you must miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for work or family. However, when you do not call to cancel an appointment, you may be preventing another patient from getting much needed treatment. We will consider you a No show 15 minutes after your appointment time. If an appointment is not canceled by 3pm on the day before the appointment, you will be charged a $25 fee; this will not be covered by your insurance company and is due at the time of your next office visit. Dr. Bañez is an ophthalmologist treating patients in San Francisco, California and the surrounding communities. She holds certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Bañez is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has been in practice in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998. Originally from New York City, New York, Dr. Bañez attended Hunter College for her undergraduate degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She pursued her medical degree at New York University and continued her medical education at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, where she received her residency training in Ophthalmology.Patients visiting Dr. Bañez can receive a full range of medical eye services. She provides comprehensive eye examinations, foreign body removal, consultations for cataract and glaucoma and fitting for contact lenses and eyeglasses. We don't have an optical onsite but, if needed, we're happy to suggest opticals nearby or online. Treatment is available for issues including dry eye, eye allergies, vision loss, eyelid problems and diabetic retinopathy. We do not fit rigid gas permeable lenses.
