About Dr. Mary Jo Baize-Moore

Dr. Moore was called to optometry after watching the careers of her father, who was an optician with more than 50 years in the industry, and her mother who was a math and science teacher. She attributes her love of science and work ethic to her parents’ influence. As an optometrist, she’s dedicated to helping each of her patients find solutions to their visual challenges and believes in taking the time to thoroughly explain their conditions, options, and treatments.Born in Michigan, Dr. Moore earned her undergraduate degree in Visual Science from Ferris State University. She then returned to her alma mater to earn her Doctor of Optometry at the University’s College of Optometry. Now with over three decades of experience, Dr. Moore has worked in nearly every facet of optometry. She is excited to be at Jarvis Vision Center and loves how well-equipped and ready the practice is to improve their patients’ lives through better vision.
