About Dr. Masuma Bahora
A Nashville native, Dr. Masuma Bahora obtained her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Her professional path started in the Bay Area, where she spent time working with underserved homeless youth. Driven by her passion, Dr. Bahora completed her Master's in Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and furthered her training with a fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she also obtained board certification. Dr. Bahora joined Downtown Women OB/GYN in May 2019 alongside her move to New York. When not at work, you can often find her running in Prospect Park, attending yoga, or cooking.
Dr. Bahora enjoys all aspects of women's healthcare, with special interests in adolescent medicine, contraception counseling, health disparities, and gynecologic surgery. Additionally, she maintains a strong interest in international women's health, having had the opportunity to serve medically in communities in Haiti, Malawi, and Kenya. Integrating her devotion to the underserved both at home and internationally has been incredibly fulfilling, and she hopes to incorporate more of this work in the coming years.

Can't recommend Dr. Bahora enough. I've been going to her for a few years now and every time she walks in the room she was prepared and had remembered or reviewed my chart to follow up on the issues we talked about last year.
The bedside manor makes me feel very safe and supported, and takes the time to really listen to any concerns I may have.

Dr. Bahora was great! She took her time and listened which is always a breath of fresh air. My exam was comfortable and I was in and out without issue. I do think the office isn't the most accessible but that's no fault of hers.

Dr. Bahora was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She sat down and chatted with me to really understand was I was experiencing. Frankly one of the first times a Doctor has not felt in a rush to check some boxes and leave. This whole experience was great! I arrived a little early and they were actually able to see me EARLY which was a lovely and pleasant surprise. Check-in was easy and the office staff were super nice. Dr. Bahora was lovely and attentive and listened carefully to my questions and concerns and gave me good information and follow up steps. Would highly recommend!

Going to the OBGYN is not everyone's favorite, Dr. Bahora made the whole experience as effortless as possible. She was upfront, friendly, and hit on all the important questions.
I would definitely recommend this office/doctor to a friend and return if my next insurance covers it.

Highly recommend! I came for a second opinion after having a bad experience somewhere else. Dr Bahora (and the nurse beforehand) both were very attentive and explained a lot of things to me. Very kind also. Even though I was a new patient, they took me in right away after I filled out my intake form. So happy I finally found a good OBGYN

Amazing appt! I showed up 30 minutes early and they took me - barely any wait. Dr. Bahora was so friendly, was a great listener and really took the time to get to know me. She narrated everything she was doing and made me feel at ease. Would recommend her to anyone!

This was my second time ever geting a pap smear and I was NERVOUS. I don't like being so vulnerable and so open to people. The first time I got one was 5 years ago and even though it was professional and nothing happened, it was so uncomfortable and offputting because it was a male doctor that saw me for the first time. I told Bahora my thoughts and she really put me at ease by comforting me and narrating what she was doing as she was doing it. The amount of care and empathy washed my worries away. Due to this positive experience, I don't think I'll care if my doctor will be a male or female moving forward.

Highly recommend Dr. Bahora! Saw her as a new patient for my well woman exam. She listened intently, asked thoughtful questions, offered options and suggestions without judgment, and was still incredibly efficient. Side note - staff is also lovely and welcoming, and adept with finicky veins for blood draws. Look forward to continuing care with Dr. B!

I feel she went above and beyond during my appointment. I was very comfortable and felt heard and understood. I felt no judgment when I told her I didn’t want children and that is honestly a first in regards to doctors. I’m really happy to find an OB I can trust. She’s dope.
