Dr. Walker is a board-certified optometrist who joined the Vance Thompson Vision team in 2018 to work with Dr. Deborah Ristvedt in Alexandria, MN. He specializes in the management of cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgery. Prior to that, he cared for patients at a comprehensive ophthalmology practice in Florida. While there, Dr. Walker coordinated vision screenings for hundreds of students as part of an annual back to school event designed to meet the needs of local families with limited access to eye care. Dr. Walker was also an annual presenter for an area medical organization, giving updates on the latest advancements in diabetic eye care. Personal & Hobbies Mathew and his wife are the proud parents of two boys. He and his family enjoy spending time in Alexandria’s great outdoors by boating, walleye fishing, hiking, and snowboarding. He also enjoys cheering for NDSU, his alma mater, in football (Go Bison!).
