Patient reviews for Dr. Matthew B. Gewirtz
The took me in right away with no waiting, treated me like a real person and answered my questions. I couldn't ask for more.
The office staff is courteous and friendly and got me checked in quickly. I only had to wait about 2-3 minutes to be taken back, which is refreshing! The technician and Dr. Gewirtz were both knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I'm really glad I found this practice!
Excellent! Highly satisfied with the visit.
The doctor was great, but the front desk staff was not friendly. The assistant to the doctor on the other hand was amazing and I am only going back because of her...
Dr. Gewirtz is knowledgeable and right on target. Great manner, very personable. The office staff is efficient and professional. If you need a new ophthalmologist as I did, I highly recommend him. We also share an agonizing love of Rutgers football. :)
Dr. Gewirtz was thorough, explained what the issues I was having in great detail, very good bedside manner. I would recommend him.
Very professional office and very professional doctor. Easy sign in for a first visit and doctor was in my network so the entire exam was covered. He even said he could remove a skin tag on my eye if I wanted it done. Will definitely go back. I'm on their call back yearly. Good experience overall.
Great and Satisfactory!
Found problems in MY's eyes due to bad cataracts and not Rx glasses. Must have surgery at hosp facility and not off site due complications. Took all precautions to ensure safe procedure. Wrote pre appt. follow up letter to hospital.
Doctor was very friendly and reassuring. Clarified any questions I had in a friendly manner.
The doctor is very good. I will recommend him to my friend

Veey good. First tiner.
Very professional, on time and nice environment
Very attentive and informative.
I was satisfied.
My wait was a bit longer, maybe an hour, but not unheard of. The staff was very courteous and pleasant to speak too. Dr. Gerwitz was also very friendly and did a very thorough eye examination. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because this was my first visit, but I was very pleased and will definitely be back!
Great experience. Very punctual, professional and courteous. Love the state of art equipment used for eye check up!
This feedback is directed to the practice rather than others: 1. I don't have sunglasses. To send me out into the midday sun after dilating me was dangerous. I reflexively squinted during my 25 minute drive back and my eyes were tearing most of the time. Please provide disposable sunglasses to your patients that need to drive after dilation. 2. When I requested a Pupillary Distance measure I was expecting you to measure my PD and not refer me to your optician. I already waited a half hour to see you and I did not have any more time to wait to see the optician. With all due respect to your experience and expertise, it is my decision based on my cost-benefit analysis as to whether I will purchase glasses online or with your or another optician. 3. Why does the word SPHERE appear in my OS Cylinder prescription ? In 50 years of wearing glasses I have never seen anything but a number appear in my prescription matrix. In this case a brief explanation would be in order. Remember, I did not see my prescription until it was printed at the checkout counter and you were already in with another patient.
It was good
Nice friendly doctor and staff
Nice office, friendly staff and professional doctor
The entire experience was excellent. The office is very clean and comfortable, and the staff is all very friendly. They were ready for me before I was even finished filling out the paperwork. In the room, the medical assistant seemed very capable and pleasant. Dr. Gewirtz himself was also very nice and thorough. Overall, I will be back for my next checkup.
