About Dr. Matthew Hockett

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Matthew Hockett to Weinstein Eye Associates and Maryland! He grew up in Oklahoma and earned his bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Oklahoma State University where he was the kicker for the Cowboys Football team. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. Dr. Hockett possesses a very warm and friendly personality, and he genuinely cares about people. While in St Louis, Dr. Hockett spent much of his free time volunteering with the Special Olympics Opening Eyes program. In addition to providing comprehensive eye examinations, he maintains a strong interest in ocular disease, specialty contact lens fittings, and surgical co-management. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and Maryland Optometric Association. In addition to all things Oklahoma State, Dr. Hockett enjoys being active and playing any sport including soccer, golf, and basketball. He is excited to be here in Maryland and exploring everything our area has to offer.
