Dr. Mehrdad Golzad is Board-Certified in Brain Injury Medicine, Neurology, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, with extensive expertise in Neurophysiology, Neuropharmacology, Quantitative EEG, Neurofeedback, and TBI-related Balance Disorders. He has a particular emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, memory disorders, and dementia, providing comprehensive evaluations and individualized care plans to support cognitive health and quality of life.
From 1999 to 2009, Dr. Golzad served as Chief of Neurology at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn and Queens, where, in collaboration with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, his team achieved Primary Stroke Center (PSC) Certification by consistently delivering high-quality, specialized care for stroke patients.
Dr. Golzad has published research articles and a book chapter on neurotoxicology, neuropsychological testing, and the treatment of motor neuropathies by conduction block.
He is also actively engaged in the administration of parenteral ketamine therapy (under pharmaco-EEG monitoring)—integrated with music therapy and psychotherapy—for traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors experiencing neuropsychiatric complications.

Se lo recomiendo 100% a cualquiera es un excelente doctor, amable, amistoso y lo mejor es que te sientes a confiaza porque el te da cofianza y seguridad. Great doc! Best neurologist i've been to and I've seen quite a few in my time especially since I suffer from migraines and now finally I'm on the road to recovery! He had so much knowledge and info for me unlike other docs who are so general, he also recommended vitamins along with medicine and other tests that will be setting me on the best path ever! Dr. Golzad actually saved my girlfriends life, an she had immediate emergency service. I have migraines so I thought I would see him. This was the best medical experience I have had, very great bedside manner, very efficient and gets details, and really caters to your needs and cares about your health significantly. He talks very professional (almost too medical) and tries to explain. I'm having further treatment to see what is wrong with me. He's a rock star doctor!

The wait time is not bad but when you think about how much time he spends with the actuall patient you will understand. Great doctor I just hope he can find the cause of my seizures. I wish I didn't have to spend 3 hours at the office. My appointment was at 10:00AM, I arrived at 9:38AM with all my questionnaires and forms already completed, still waited until 11:15AM to be called to an exam room and I did not make it out until 12:45PM.

Dr.Golzad is by far one of the few doctors left who seem to actually CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS & uphold the hippocratic oath that So many MD's fail to do. In my experience he has balanced his Art & Science-his medical expertise with warmth, sympathy, understanding-Bedside Manner-so he understands the effect of his treatment to a patients medical needs"may affect the persons family or economic stability"-This is part of the oath as far as I know that all Doctors pledge to uphold yet so many fail to care about the patient,instead many offices will Rush you,Doctors fail to listen & address YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS,and suggest various treatments all in a plan to HELP YOU GET BETTER-I'm sorry but I've seen numerous doctors who have forgotten about the importance of this-Dr. Golzad is the exception to the rule. Yes, at times his office may be busy & there may be a slight wait-but it's worth waiting for a Doctor who takes his time & listens to you & treats you accordingly. I must add that I've also gone in as an emergency-without a scheduled APPT.-and time was made to see me, even when the Dr. was leaving for the day-he took the time to stay-and attend to my needs-NO OTHER DR. has ever made me feel as if he genuinely cares & wants what is best for my health. I know this is a long review but since I am the first to submit a complaint where it us due, I feel compelled to give credit where credit is due, and to tell others-FROM A REAL PATIENTS PERSPECTIVE-I'm sorry if I delayed your appt. due to MY emergency & BEING fit in the schedule but Dr. G will do the same for you, God Forbid you ever have an emergency-so he is one doctor where I don't mind wait times, which on average are normal-and if I wait a little longer 1day, I know it's because the Dr. Is FULLY attending to the needs of a patient ahead of me-instead of rushing through an APPT.

This was my first time using ZocDoc. I went for my 3pm appt, and when I told them my name, it wasn't even in their system and when I said I booked it through ZocDoc, the receptionist said, "Oh.. That explains everything." Okay..? So I waited an hour in the waiting room, finally saw the doctor, ran some tests and waited another hour... I couldn't take it anymore so I walked out at 545.. The person in the front didn't even apologize or didn't seem sorry at all. Not only that but there was another lady complaining how she had waited over two hours. Ridiculous. Another thing- while I was waiting, I saw the people who came in wayy ahead of me leave earlier than me. The office is old, the rooms are tiny, the staff wasn't friendly at all, and I waited over two hours. I don't know what the people below me are talking about.. This is false advertisement. Very unhappy.

Dr.Golzad is a great doctor. I would definitely recommend him. I have been seeing him for several months now & as always he listens to what you are saying & has a great bedside manner. I was actually late for my appt. because I went to the wrong office, my mistake, yet the wait was not very long, wait time is a big deal to me, so again I was very happy with my visit & have already referred Dr. Golzad to others.

I was very happy with this vist as the wait time was much less than usual. I only waited about 15 minutes before I was seen & usually I go to the other office but I liked this office location better, however it is further away from where I live so I probably will have to use the other location more in the future. After booking the appt. online I did get a call from a secretary who did originally try to cancel my appt. telling me they were "booked" for the day but I explained that zocdoc showed several appts. "available" that afternoon & I really needed to be seen & could not wait until next week so they told me to come as soon as I could, and that's what I did and all was fine. Dr. Golzad is a great doctor & I have already referred him to several associates of mine.

Not just an amazing doctor, but amazing assistants, amazing staff. The atmosphere is very comforting, and you can tell they all really care. I have never ha a better experience and felt more at ease with any other doctor. Very professional and very efficient. I appreciate everything they have done, Doctor Golzad is incredibly smart and kind. IF you really want to an Neurologist, see this doctor. There is no better choice.

Though I waited an hour, I believe it was a special circumstance, as he apologized and explained he was in the hospital earlier, which I think is reasonable.
He and his staff were really professional and thorough in their examinations, and I have never felt more comfortable with a health professional. Dr. Golzad knew exactly what he was doing and it's comforting to know there are still professionals out there who really look for the best for their patients. Highly recommended!!

Two months after the birth of our first child, my wife suddenly began experiencing extreme weakness and vision changes. I became very concerned about her health. We were referred to Dr. Golzad, who recognized immediately that my wife was suffering from an acute attack of multiple sclerosis. He arranged an MRI scan to be preformed that same day. Dr. Golzad even went out of his way to come to the radiology center to interpret the films himself. After reviewing the films he explained the findings to both of us. His clinical diagnosis was confirmed. He eased my concerns as he confidently created a treatment plan. He scheduled immediate transfer of my wife to the hospital to ensure she receives the best treatment possible, and provided us with his cell phone number in order to stay in touch with us through the night.
Recently I experienced sudden onset of facial paralysis, and went back to him. Once again, I benefitted from his clinical expertise, and, the same amazing bed side manner. He diagnosed me with Bell’s Palsy, and, immediately started me on the appropriate treatment to ensure the fastest recovery.
Dr. Golzad comforted us during these difficult and scary times. I highly recommend him to everyone I know.

I was reffered to Dr Golzad by a good friend of mine who lives in queens.I've been treated for my condition for years by different doctors and have been strugling with my condition unknowingly.At first i went to him,expecting the same tests and treatments.He asked me some questions and did some tests and to my surprise,he explained to me as to what exactly my condition was.He changed my medication and kept me under observation.His diagnosis was spot on and i feel like i've given a second chance in life.I live in Mryland and travel to New York for visits with pleasure.I read some of the complaints about waiting time in the office.I think receiving great care and service is priceless,so what if you had to wait a bit? Great Job Dr Golzad.
