About Dr. Melanie Linderer

Melanie Linderer, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, School of Optometry in 2003 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Dr. Linderer specializes in family eye care and contact lenses. She loves helping people obtain their best vision so they can read text messages and emails or be able to drive again. In high school, she became very interested in the medical field and had the opportunity to observe a variety of medical specialties-optometry sparked a fire in her soul. It was an awe-inspiring experience for Dr. Linderer the first time she saw a child's face light up when they put on eyeglasses to see the world around them. She remembers it as the moment she knew she wanted to be an optometrist. In her free time, Dr. Linderer enjoys traveling and attending musical events with her two daughters. She is also an “ultrarunner,” as she enjoys running on both trails and roads. Currently, Dr. Linderer has completed 56 marathons and 18 ultramarathons-including a couple of 100-mile races! She also enjoys volunteering at animal shelters, helping them find their “fur”ever homes!

Dr. Linderer was great--very knowledgable & experienced, and lots of fun to talk to during the exams. Adrian helped us select new glasses, and he was fantastic--kind, helpful, and efficient without being overbearing. In the past, we've had icky experiences at this office, as the front desk staff and optical shop people made nasty vocal comments about our medicaid coverage, so it was a relief and a delight to have such a great experience this time. My only reservation is that $85 seems ridiculously high for a lens fitting.
The lower rating is because of the new check in system. I came there for an eye exam. I started to fill in the information and was not told it was voluntary until I protested. When I tried to go back and remove some answers the system did not allow it. If the questions have nothing to do with my eyes then it is none of your business.
Very kind and caring staff. Dr explained exactly how my eyes were doing. No one made me feel like they were rushing me through or that I was just a patient to push through system.
Everyone was helpful and friendly .On our first visit Kristi was really helpful. As for Dr. Linderer She gave us honest answers and a plan of action. Discover O told us nothing could be done. I would rate Dr. Linderer at a 20.
I’ve lived in Raytown area all my life. This was my first visit. They were on time, so informative and pleasant. Best customer service ever! I will return .
Your staff was very professional and your services were time efficient. One thing that would make it better is when communicating that the eyewear is ready to pick up verify the entire order is ready before communicating. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses. I didn’t realize I’d get a separate text for each pair and I drove all the way to Raytown from Liberty only to discover only one was ready.
I feel that Dr. Linderer gave excellent care and I was happy with the exam she did. The staff was sort of rushed and not personable. The cost of my glasses after insurance shocked me. I will probably seek out a less expensive place to get glasses next time.
Prices have increased so much since my last visit. I truly cannot recommend someone to come and get contacts or glasses when it is the most expensive visit I have had in recent years.
Very happy with service provided by Dr. Linderer. Will highly recommend her and only use her for all of our family’s exams. The staff is also outstanding. Ebony was very pleasant and helpful. She is very good at her job. I told her how impressed I was that she adjusted my glasses to sit on my ear and nose on the first try. Usually takes people several attempts.
I followed Dr. Linderer from her previous practice and was extremely satisfied with Blue Springs Optical. Technology is improved and up to date. But most importantly, ALL of the staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Hello, the receptionist, Tanya, was very rude. The other office support was great. Tanya, scolded me for not responding to 2 phone calls to get regarding the need for additional information. I missed those calls but was taken off guard by the treatment given upon my arrival. While I was being examined, Tanya interrupted to give me the option to leave or continue with paying the bill out-of-pocket. There were 2 office staff who worked diligently trying to find my insurance, only to find I had, "premium insurance" as one of them termed it. It feels like Tanya assumed from the way I looked that I probably didn't have insurance or wasn't being truthful. I would say give all people a chance, you never know what they have.
Very satisfied with my first visit here. Dr. Linderer is a very caring and wants a patient to be satisfied with her care. Adrian is an awesome example of customer service.
The Dr I was scheduled to see was changed without my knowledge. I made an appt specifically to see the Dr that I'd previously seen; the office called me needing to reschedule my appt, which is fine, and I assumed I would still see the same Dr I had originally scheduled with, but they changed me to a different Dr without telling me. I did not know I was seeing a different Dr. until I was in the office during my exam.
Dr. Linderer was professional, appeared knowledgeable, and explained how my eyes are functioning. The receptionist and other office staff were pleasant and professional.
We found out just a few days before my appointment that you were no longer on our insurance but you worked with us to give us a fair price. Dr. Linderer is super we love her. I had phone conversations with both Stephanie and Sara . They were very friendly and helpful. In fact everyone in the office is just great. Such a difference from where we went before.
New owners, don’t offer many selections and don’t customize glasses. Have to go elsewhere to find glasses that fit me. Won’t be a returning customer no more.

I like the doctor and the staff but when I picked up my glasses they were off. I’ve tried getting used to them but they are off not sure why but I am taking them back.
Just always remember that seniors don’t hear well or able to move as quickly in their thinking. They need a little extra time to process things. We don’t do well with rushing lol. Your office pretty well with that with me.
They were very upfront and honest about what was covered under my insurance. And explained everything in detail, and recommended other places to try for insurance covered expenses

Loved the doctor and staff. Unfortunately all the frames were too expensive. Took my Rx elsewhere to buy glasses. It would be nice if you had more frames that I could afford.
Very grateful for the emergency care they provided after my dog scratched my eyeball. Not severe, more of an abrasion. They got me in within a couple of hours and I am on the mend. They are very professional and, I actually have made an appointment for my annual eye exam with them.

I have been very satisfied with the front desk, testing, doctor care, and frame fitters. Advanced Eye has a large selection of stylist frames to choose from.
The front desk staff was amazing. The only reason I didn’t mark a 10 was the attendant who assisted me with picking out my eyewear was not honest in her communication.
