After working for a year at a pain management clinic in Brooklyn, she started medical school at NYU School of Medicine in New York City where she completed a dual MD/MSc in Translational Research. During her third year of medical school, she discovered the fascinating world of Ophthalmology, which was the perfect mixture of engineering and medicine. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she did her residency at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. There, she fell in love with the creativity and tangibility of Oculoplastics which led her to pursue an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship at University of California, San Francisco.
