“I had a problem I had gone to another doctor for at the utmb but they didn't help me and had horrible bedside manner and left me with more questions than answers
But thankfully I was able to get a appointment with Dr Mercedes giles and she was able to help me and answer those hard questions
She is very attentive and will be blunt with you as well
She listens asses the issue and gets right to it to help how she can

“I can’t say enough nice things about Dr. Giles’ practice. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming face. The woman at the front desk was so kind and helpful. I wasn’t able to fill out my paperwork online and she was more than happy to help me with it. I was called back promptly and seen by the phlebotomist. I don’t like having my blood drawn and she was very kind and gentle with me. She even told me a beautiful story about butterflies to distract me from the blood draw. Dr. Giles was absolutely amazing. She’s personable, inviting and really cares about patient care. She made it very clear that was her top priority and it really shows in how she treats her patients. She made me feel very heard and seen and was attentive to my concerns. We had a wonderful, educational conversation and connected on many levels. I feel very fortunate to have found her and her practice! 10/10 recommend and I can’t believe I’m saying this: I can’t wait to go back!”

Dr. Mercedes Giles is a board-certified family physician by the American Board of Family Medicine and an active member with the Texas Medical Association.
In 2018, Dr. Giles completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She began her journey working at clinics in medically underserved areas in Washington and California. Her experiences there while working with patients inspired her to start Thrive Family Clinic – a new kind of primary care clinic in Pearland, TX.

Appointment was 9:20, Didn’t get called until 10. Waited 45 minutes with no communication from nurse or doctor, before being sent to room for bloodwork, I ask for mri referral instead, nurse said she’ll ask doctor, lab tech tells me to wait in my room for doctor, as I’m walking back the doctor aggressively yells at me from other side of building, that she has a process and bloodwork is part of it and that she isn’t just sitting around doing nothing she then proceeds to treat another patient, who was scheduled at 10am, for 20 minutes. the doctor returns after 11:30am very hostile and said I couldn’t get referral until after follow up. I didn’t want to return there, so I requested to cancel my appointment. I asked for a printed copy of refund receipt and she called police on me. I welcome video release of event to prove doctor was immediately hostile to me. She seemed more interested in charging insurance for lab work i didn’t consent to because she never met with me to discuss it.

The entire office was very nice. Doctor Giles is very nice and seemed genuinely invested in my health and taking care of me like I was family.
The only downside was the hour and half wait before I was seen. Otherwise it was a perfect experience!

I have been looking for a PCP and ZocDoc made it super easy for me. Friendly staff, communicative and responsive. Easy to communicate with their Klara system. Doctor Giles was very friendly, very relatable and a great listener. I’ve always been a little weary of doctors but she made me feel really comfortable. The staff was great as well. It was great to see a doctor that looked like me be as attentive and have a great personality as well.
