About Dr. Michael Cohn

Dr. Cohn provides general optometry services, including refraction with prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses. He conducts comprehensive eye health examinations, screening for cataracts, diabetic eye problems, glaucoma/high pressure, visual field issues, and other eye conditions. Licensed in optometry with additional certification for therapeutic and diagnostic use, Dr. Cohn completes over 12 hours of continuing education each year. To keep his practice current, he attends Vision Expo, Optometric Center NY classes, OMNI eye lectures, and other educational venues.
Dr. Cohn earned his Doctor of Optometry from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He also completed advanced training in Ocular Disease at the State University of New York and holds a Bachelor's degree from Boston University.
Continuing a family legacy, Dr. Cohn carries on the optometry practice begun by his grandfather in 1922 on the Lower East Side. Beyond his practice, he has worked with local schools and serves on the board of a children's hospital in Cambodia. An avid traveler, he has visited nearly 100 countries. With a long-standing passion for the arts, Dr. Cohn collects contemporary works as well as ancient Buddhist and Hindu objects.
