Michael Cortese, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the SUNY College of Optometry in June 1981. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and Union College in 1977. Dr. Cortese chose optometry to help patients achieve clear vision through glasses and contact lenses and later expanded his work to include laser vision services to improve vision without correction. He is an experienced optometrist focused on comprehensive eye care, including primary eye care, pediatric eye care, contact lens care, and the management of eye conditions such as diabetes-related eye disease. Dr. Cortese enjoys being a primary eye care provider and values the opportunity to influence the visual development and eye health of patients across all ages. Outside of the office, Dr. Cortese enjoys hiking, biking, boating, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and pets. He speaks English, Spanish, and Italian.
