About Dr. Michael Madigan
A Board Certified optometrist, Dr. Michael Madigan grew up in Canada. He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1996 (after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Western Ontario). Dr. Madigan is a certified low vision specialist who has helped countless patients over the years optimize their usable vision, maximize the use of available technology and assistive devices, manage their vision impairments, and enjoy a higher quality of life.
In addition to bringing warmth and expertise to individuals and families, Dr. Madigan has also provided care to community members through nonprofit organizations such as Astor Services for Children and Families, Northern Dutchess Hospital, and Anderson Center for Autism. His love of community has also extended to a number of other initiatives; he served as president and remains an active member of the Rhinebeck Lions Club, along with service as past president of the Saugerties Youth Hockey Association Board and former Board member of the Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Madigan is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. He lives in the Village of Rhinebeck; in his free time, Dr. Madigan enjoys ice hockey and skiing.
