About Dr. Michelle Mckillop

Our practice works with both your medical and vision insurance. As Zocdoc only allows you to add one insurance, we kindly ask that you give information on your secondary insurance when you are contacted. Dr. McKillop accepts all patients, including special needs patients. She enjoys helping special needs patients feel at ease, and comfortable during their eye exam. Dr. McKillop grew up on Long Island and received her Bachelor of Sciences in Health Science at James Madison University. She then completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University. She has been with Sound Vision Care for 3 years and counting. Dr. McKillop completed her externship rotations in primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatrics and contact lens services at The Eye Care Institute. She also spent time rotating through the dry eye clinic of excellence, treating patients with ocular surface disease. In addition Dr. McKillop completed a primary care rotation at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, where she treated Veterans with ocular disease. She also completed a rotation at the Braverman Eye Center, where she gained extensive knowledge in post operative eye care. She is passionate about community outreach, and spent time as a scrub technician for cataract surgery performed in impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic with Vision Outreach International. In her free time she loves spending her time with her family and friends, reading, and baking. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Lola.

Lovely staff, everyone, doctor including, was accommodating and listened to my complaints as well as took them seriously. Nice display of glasses, got a pair I enjoy and was given blue light protection as my desk job was hurting my eyes. Also got steroids for my eye pain and an appointment in two weeks for a recheck. Wonderful bedside manner.
Office offers masks of you feel ill and hand sanitizer, everything is clean and well maintained. They work with my insurance and walked me through the costs of my new glasses. Highly recommend.

I was really impressed, not only with Dr. Mckillop‘s professionalism, but also her caring and thoughtfulness. She gave me encouragement and advice for the Long Term Care of my eyes. I asked questions and never felt rushed. I certainly recommend this attentive and knowledgeable optometrist
