About Dr. Murray Baumal
Dr. Baumal has provided high quality eye care and comprehensive contact lens services in the Boston area for over 10 years. He understands the critical role that good sight plays in all that we do, and works toward achieving the individual vision goals that each patient may have.
Dr. Baumal did a Family Practice residency at the New England College of Optometry. He received his optometry degree from the Nova Southeastern University (Davie, FL) where he obtained Phi Beta Kappa honors, and earned his bachelors degree in biology from the University of Cincinnati.
We're currently accepting new patients at our practice located on Newbury Street within Cohen's Fashion Optical. With the wide selection of designer frames, you can rest assured you'll look as good as you'll be able to see after the appointment. Welcome!

Couldn’t have had a better experience!! Very friendly and gave me a comprehensive exam complete with explanations and lots of questions. When I had an issue with my insurance, he got on the phone personally with the insurance company and spoke to a representative and was accommodating!! Couldn’t recommend him enough.

Very nice person and they give very good service on the floor. Help you look for the perfect glasses and great prices. They go over your insurance and explain what gets covered and what doesn’t. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and even my family members

It was excellent to see Dr. Baumal for my eye appointment. I haven't had a routine vision checkup in years, but if I had known how positive an experience it was going to be, I'd have gone a long time ago.

He was friendly, thorough, and really cared about getting the right contacts for me. I've never had an optometrist spend that much time figuring out the right fit for me. He was very knowledgable and patient. Sometimes, I feel like doctors give you a rushed feeling to get onto the next patient, but Dr. Baumal never made me feel this way. He took his time and made sure I felt comfortable with my prescription. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Murray was very friendly and made the eye exam stress free. I don’t know that I would buy glasses from this office though. I paid quite a bit extra than I would have if I ordered online - but then again wouldn’t have been able to try them on.

He was in a rush and did not provide adequate care. The doctor failed to conduct a thorough exam. In fact he did not dilate my eyes. It turns out I had a cornea disease all along which he did not detect because he failed to conduct a full eye exam..

The entire staff was very friendly. The Doc himself was personable and seemed OPTIMISTIC about OPTOMETRY. For a routine eye exam, it was quick but didn't feel rushed, which is the best you can hope for in my opinion.
