About Dr. Myles Zakheim

Dr. Myles Zakheim has been in private optometric practice in the Los Angeles area since 1980, when he moved from New York City. He founded OPTOMETRIX in 1987. Trained at the New York Lighthouse for the Blind, Dr. Zakheim served on the staff of the Center for the Partially Sighted at Santa Monica Hospital, and was the Director of Eye Services at the world-renowned Pritikin Longevity Center.
Dr. Zakheim has provided the Hollywood community with special effects lenses, custom eyewear and professional eyecare services for more than two decades. A staff of contact lens technicians and optical fashion consultants support Dr. Zakheim on all projects. Dr. Zakheim donates eyecare services and eyewear through the nonprofit organizations. New Eyes for the Needy and Delancy Street Foundation. He is a founding member and former chair of the board of the nonprofit Angels for Sight.

I wasn’t expecting to purchase glasses after my exam (thorough and kind doctor) there but they had such an amazing collection and I’m getting so many compliments to my new glasses already thanks to help of everyone there. Did I tell you they got my prescription in my new glasses within ten minutes? The man who works the front and does beginning exams was amazing and is so talented at what he does. It is an important soft skill while helping someone find glasses explaining why a pair works or doesn’t w your face in a soft, encouraging way. Such a nice experience. Happy I found them to be all things eyes for me.

I would go back! I would appreciate the specifics of parking be noted somewhere, the structure I’d parked in was not connected to the correct building. My error, but it was $20 for an hours parking

Everyone in the office was super friendly and personable. They explained everything in clear easy to understand terms, listened to my questions and were able to provide me with lenses that previous Drs claimed were "not possible". I have been coming to Dr. Zakheim for years, and even though I have moved out of the area, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my prescription! He's very knowledgeable, warm, and kind, and his staff is top notch and very welcoming. They have a huge selection of beautiful frames and all the latest technology for your eye exam.

Can't say enough good things about my first experience with Dr Zakheim! After finding his office on Zocdoc, I pleased to see how many wonderful reviews he had when I looked him up online. The office and staff didn't disappoint! I had a super thorough consultation, Dr Zakheim was incredibly knowledgable and friendly and assed all of my concerns and questions quickly; no detail went unnoticed. Dr. Zaks is always great. Just felt slow waiting around for him and he was stopping and going throughout the appointment. There are a lot of great things but today there was also a lot of bad. May give it another shot before I might change to another eye doctor
