Getting to know Dr. Nichole Villarreal
I have been working with children and adolescents for over 10 years using evidence-based treatments such as CBT and ACT. I hold a PhD in Psychology from Texas A&M University and am a licensed psychologist with a background in both clinical child and school psychology. This unique combination qualifies me to support adolescents and children across multiple settings, including schools, community environments, and mental health centers. I have specialized training in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral concerns, chronic medical conditions, and co-occurring mental health issues.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am very passionate about ensuring that all of my clients are comfortable. It is very important to me that the therapy process is collaborative and that it cultivates an environment of trust and understanding. My hope is that each client feels empowered to effect changes in their life to further support their mental health.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My goal is that clients are equipped with skills and coping strategies to successfully manage their identified concerns. This is done in an environment of support and warmth.

I am grateful to have found Dr. Villarreal. She has helped us navigate our daughter’s mental health journey. Our daughter had not easily opened up, but Dr. Villarreal has built a good rapport with her. Our daughter feels she is heard and supported. Dr. Villarreal is warm and friendly. She has created a safe space for my daughter to be able to express herself. She is experienced and knowledgable. Dr. Villarreal explains things in a non-judgmental way and allows space for questions and concerns.

Dr. Villarreal was very understanding of our needs. Our son was hesitant to do any therapy but felt comfortable after his first online session and agreed to continue his work with Dr. Villarreal. And scheduling was easy too.
