Dr. Nunzio Misseri was born and raised in Sicily, Italy. In 2002, he and his family moved to the United States, residing in North Carolina before settling in Waverly, Virginia. He graduated with Honors in Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, where he was elected by his peers as part of the class of 2016 Student Government. Dr. Misseri completed his residency training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at Christiana Care Health Services in Delaware, where he served as Chief Resident during his third year. Dr. Misseri went on to complete an intensive Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship at University Hospitals Regional Hospitals in Ohio, focusing on sports medicine, foot and ankle trauma, external fixation methods, arthroscopy, and reconstructive surgery. During his fellowship, he was able to attend several fellows courses throughout the country, as well as publish several research papers and case studies. With his training and clinical experience, Dr. Misseri specializes in conservative and surgical treatment of foot and ankle conditions with a particular interest in sports medicine, trauma, reconstructive surgery, Charcot deformities, and wound care. Dr. Misseri is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and Board Qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Outside of work, Dr. Misseri loves spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, playing tennis, and enjoying live music.
